Hi :) I am Alyssa. I live with my boyfriend Leon, and our puppy Fiona. We are pregnant with our first little baby and I am so excited. I want a girl, and he of course, wants a boy. Really, though, It doesn't matter... we are just really excited. We are heavily influenced by art and motivated by creativity (him being a web designer/graphic and myself, photographer) so I have a feeling we have a little artist in the oven... this expirience will be so amazing and I am excited to be able to talk to girls on here, since I have no pregnant friends . Some of the closest people to me are not longer living thier life, and so I will cherish this little one more than anyone will or could ever know. Yay for babies. xo

thanx for message, yeh im waiting for the baby to pop out before knowing the sex!
i think its so much better and exciting for your 1st baby!
altho sometimes i sit there and think... wonder what it is so i can buy summat blue or pink!
but it keeps you going not knowing..... its exciting!
altho if i have another kid, im diffinatley finding out!
you can find out the sex at your 20 week scan!
altho some hospitals dont tell you!! for some strange reason! altho i think its rare!

Hi Alyssa. Congrats on your u/s picture so amazing. My advice is have a suprise for your first it was just the best thing ever not knowing & seeing who's predictions were totally wrong!Everyone said I was having a boy & I had a girl.I found out last time & will find out this time to as I have one of each I just want it to be healthy thats the greatest gift of all. Just buy a few mint or cream baby grows as you'll get brought loads with your 1st & they can all get the pinks of blues?? your call just some friendly advice. :) Good luck, I love the name Leon so thanks for that one!!

Hey there, yeah the Dr. said that they would be able to tell the sex and he will make sure the baby is developing properly. I bet you will be able to tell by then too. So exciting!!

awww i love ur pic its sooo cute i went to the doc today too and all i got to do is hear the heart beat. i loved it but i wanted to see my little bundle of joy. when you find out what ur havin have the doc tell you and just keep it a secret!!! and hide all the stuff you buy until hes ready to know. well congrats and good luck on ur pregnancy!!!

We went for our 10wk US last Thursday, and Chris and the Dr said the baby was playing peekaboo- and I could *kind of* see it, but it was all so friggin blurry- so your's looks clean cut to me! Although I bet it was different in there!
Hawaii is the capital of cute swimwear- so when my breasteses get too big for my current one, I guess I will have to find another! Although, I still love my pirate one :(
My mom is coming to visit on the 11th of this month, and so I am surprising her by having an extra dr's appointment at 12 weeks, so she can see her grandchild :) I'm pretty psyched, but am having a hard time not telling her ^^

Alyssamarie - If this is your first official doctor visit you should know that it may take up to 3hrs.
They usually take a pee and blood sample. A cervix exam is sometimes done right there and then. They will perform either a vaginal or abdominal Ultra sound...give you some pics and have you talk to a counsel just to see how you're doing emotionally...

We *were* hoping for a girl, but I have softened up on it... I don't care what it is- I already love it! My husband is still very in want of a girl.

I just had my second US at 10wks1day, and my baby wasn't bouncing around! The little guy was just chillin there... but s/he was putting it's hands up to cover it's eyes!! It was the sweetest game of peekaboo ever!
But I hear they are *able* to bounce around!

I was torn in the tanning thing too. I am now in week 35 and haven't tanned at all...I am so pale, and I usuallly am super tan. Since tannign is so harmful to our bodies, with the increase risk of skin cancer and so forth, I can't tan with a baby inside me. I feel like it isn't worth the risk. But I do feel not attractive. I have my baby shower this weekend so I am looking into self tanner, at least for me face!

Congrats on your pregnancy! About your insurance situation: there are maternity 'discount cards' that offer reduced medical rates, or you can just contact Drs and ask what their non-insured policy is---most have a payment plan which is very discounted from normal rates.
Ask the hospitals they work with too, they also have payment plans. If you inquire with your states Medicaid-they may have a special program for pregnant women where they expedite your application and get you medical coverage right away.
We're self employed and uninsured, so I feel for you! Best of luck!

ya i have gained 9 pounds but the doctor said it is mostly fluid..i can feel it in my fingers etc. i nearly died today when i seen that! o'well...i have been eating healthy and everything so i am sure it is all good. my sypmtoms come and go. lately i have been waking up with my m/s again, and am really tired. but at one time they all disappeared. i wouldnt worry...your symptoms will be back. last week i spotted on wednesday as well...nearly freaked! just once the doc says it is normal as well due to the increased blood flow in the cervix area. thank god. glad to hear u are feeling well.

hey how are u doing? i had my second dr apt today and my due date was changed from the 23 to the 19. the doc says i am now 10w4d. happy that i am that much closer to the safety zone. have you gained any weight yet?
