hi.. I read your post about the reflux and how you think its something more... my son used to cry every single time I fed him he would spit up so much it used to come out his poor little nose.. He never slept peacefully b/c he would wake up spitting up.. I took him to the doc they told me it was reflux based on his symptoms I said the same thing it can't just be that b/c he also had this sound when he breathed that sounded like phlem but I gave it a try anyway read up everything i was able to and gave him his meds and as much as I didn't want to had to lessen the breast milk and feed him formula.. he started to get better soon afterwards.. I tried giving him breast milk again but he would spit that up and start crying..so I modified my diet and kept him on his soy formula.. Now I am happy to say he is alot better he eats and he doesn't cry!! he spits up but no that much .. hope you get some help for your little one if anything you need to ask let me know :)

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

I don't blame you for getting formula, you've been so dedicated to feeding him yourself and done so well, if only he would drink it! Anna is a piglet, chomping about 25 oz a day and getting very chunky! Weighs 14 lb something, i want to start her on solids but she wasn't ready when i tried the other day. Both girls have a cold so am druging them up. Have added photos. Take care x

Cute picture! What's your tattoo of?

Elijahs Mom - Friday, 3 October
Shoot, I have seriously thought about it! Cash Cow, thats hilarious! Did you hear about PETA wanting Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream to start making their ice cream with human breast milk? Apparently milking cows is animal torture.

Elijahs Mom - Friday, 3 October
That's for sure! I actually read somewhere that women who sell their milk can get $3 per ounce. I've got like $200-$300 in my freezer!

Elijahs Mom - Friday, 3 October
I would freak out if our electricity went out right now. I literally have 4 days worth of breast milk in the freezer. I would fall into a very deep depression if it went bad! I would drink all of the wine in the house!

Jake has taken to crying too these past few nights. He has started this thing where he starts crying immediately after I get him out of the bath and he cries until I finally get him to nurse. No bath tonight but he's screamed and screamed off and on for like 3 hours now. I'm about to go nuts!!

carolynjh - Friday, 3 October
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I believe my daughter is colicky as well. I just came from a 1 1/2 hr screaming time. It seems every night before dinner she cries, then we bounce her during dinner, she falls asleep. Then after dinner she has a bath and she eats and screams and eats and screams and I have to feed, rock, or shhhh her to sleep for an hour. Tonight it seemed her pjs were too small, so changing that helped. My diet is not spicy, I've tried everything. Can't wait for this to pass, my first daughter was the same way :( Let me know if you come up with any magic!

lizamafers - Friday, 3 October
Oh no. It doesn't matter how long you're with them, sometimes things happen that we don't expect. Remember they can't talk, we can only guess, same as doctors. Hope he gets better

lizamafers - Thursday, 2 October
Could it still be his acid reflux? Poor little guy, I hope he feels better soon :-)

Hey,
our children could be twins from across the world. Sahana loves to graze too. And i used to let her do it because i thought, every drop of nutrition counts. But i figured out, hard as it is, take the bottle out once they seem to have lost interest. To start with dont take more than a couple of ounces when you sit to feed him. if he finishes it off, then you can always get him more. and use the time you need to warm his formula/milk to burp him. that way you dont spend half your day feeding. Belive me he will stop fooling around in a couple of days and respect the milk a lot more.

it was sooo hard for me to do this in the beginning (i began this week lol) but she does take it at her pace and she doesnt fool around any more. it took her two days to figure out what was going on. but she is good now. so happy to hear hunter is doing good. :)

Oh, and i used to use avent too. but i found she still swallowed a lot of air. i switched to playtex ventaire nursers with disposable liners. Its made a world of difference. its unbelievable how happy she is now that she doesnt have to deal with gas. and she seems to eat more with the nursers. The only issue is, you dont get them in india. i managed to find a few shops where they sell nursers. But no one, just no one sells the nipples. and the old ones are wearing out. :( finding new nursers is a bitch too. i just can t find them. I guess i will ask one of my friends from the states to ship it across to me. Try the nursers, they are totally worth every penny you spend on them.

WOW that was a long post. Sorry about that.

angiepangie - Tuesday, 30 September
My guy is a grazer too...he is happy if I let him 'snack' every hour or two! Since he is big enough now, I don't feel bad about giving him the pacifier until he absolutely refuses it and really cries...then I know he is serious about eating! This usually works, and I can manage to get him to eat 3.5 to 4 oz at once (I am exclusively pumping), which keeps him satiated for 3 hours or until he poops! LOL!

Well that sucks! Maybe we'll go to Australia lol its just a dream, it'll probably never happen. But man I wish we could have free health care. Just for me and Elijah we're paying $400 a month and it only covers 80% of all expenses so we're still paying the hospital and OB/GYN. It's just not fair sometimes. I know it could be worse but man as hard as we work and as much we pay in taxes, it should be much better.
