Update: Jonathan came into this world by c-section delivery kickin and screamin at 9:51 am Friday April 18, 2008. He weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. He has a head full of dark brown hair and looks just like his daddy. It's hard to believe I played a part in making something so beautiful.

Oh, it was the very best part ... when they wrapped him up in the blanket and put him in my husbands arms to show to me ... to see him look down at the little life we created with so much emotion you couldn't even begin to describe ... I just cried. I didn't get to hold him but I did touch him and kiss them both before they left. They let Ryan carry him off to the nursery while I was being put back together.

We had a ton of visitors mostly family and some dear friends. So many wonderful gifts for baby pretty flowers and goodies for Mom. We were released from the hospital on Monday afternoon and thought we would need a moving company to get all our items out to the car. Daddy made several trips to and from the car while Mommy learned a few things about breastfeeding.

Jonathan went to his doctor Tuesday and only weighed 8 lbs 2oz. I had to see my doctor on Wednesday. He said my incision looked good they took some kind of stitch out and steri-stripped me closed. It was nice not having to have staples removed. With my older boys I was closed with staples. There were 21 with Andy and 17 with Daniel. I was a little bit upset because I had only lost 10 lbs after having an almost 9 pound baby. They said I was still carrying a lot of fluid and to be patient it will come off. He also said I wouldn't need birth control as long as I am breastfeeding!!! Who knew?

More info later ... baby needs me ... and I love it!

Friday, 12 Oct

Yesterday 10/11/2007 was our second prenatal appt. and our second ultrasound. We got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Saturday, 15 Dec
We had our 5 month scan on Thrusday and It's a BOY!!!

Sunday, 13 Jan
My husband has decided to call him Jonathan!~Tracey

Monday, 11 Feb
We `re naming our little boy Jonathan Ryan! Can `t wait for him to get here.

Friday, 15 Feb
I went to the doctor today, I have been on a diabetic diet for one week and lost 8lbs. My sugar levels seem good my BP is 120/80 and his heartbeat was very strong. He kicked my OB twice while listening. I am doing better! Still have sugar in my urine??? Not sure what's up with that! BP seems to be doing better now.

Friday, 22 Feb
I went to my OB yesterday and lost 2 more pounds BP was 120/80 and all is looking well as far as little Jonathan goes. We will be having another ultrasound next Thursday! I am so excited I can `t wait to meet him. I love him so much already!

Friday, 21 Mar

My OB is the longest delivering OB around here so I am confident he will take care of me but as the date approaches I become more and more nervous about the delivery. Simply because I am having my third c-section doesn `t mean it will go smoothly does it. Especially since my first two where so long ago. Doc seems confident everything will go well these days... but the first 6 months he was sure I would spend the last several weeks in the hospital. As much as the last 3 months anyway do to preeclampsia. He took me off work - January 29th was my last day and since then I have done better and better with each passing day. The first two weeks I lost about 10 pounds of fluid! He was very worried about my BP and swelling. Yesterday my BP was 110/80 doesn `t get much better than that I don `t think. He has my weight at 6 pounds heavier than I was at my first appointment. So I have gained 6lbs and Jonathan weighs 6lbs. I am trying to eat better and monitor my blood glucose 4x a day at least 3 days per week. OB said be sure one of the days is on the weekend since I was kinda avoiding monitoring on the weekend. My baby shower was held on Sunday March 16, 2008 after being postponed due to the storm of the decade. You know how you schedule something and mother nature drops 9 inches of snow on it. My luck...lol. I got so many nice things. I am seeing my OB 2x weekly and he runs NST one day and ultrasound the other day. He said he will do this from now on and if there are no further complications he will deliver Jonathan by c-section on April 18, 2008. I hope to just go into labor and deliver him the old fashion way but that would be too easy. History~After being induced with my first son he was delivered by emergency c-section 17.5 hours later weighing 9lbs 2oz and 20.5 inches long. He was due on August 11 and wasn `t born until September 3, 1989. He is my 18 year old metal head. My second son was induced for VBAC but delivered 24 hours later by routine c-section weighing 8lbs 3oz and 19 inches long on February 1, 1994. That is my 14 year old metal head. Both came late, but the first one was conceived on Nov 10, 1988. I WONDER would I have ever went into labor on my own???

Thanks to everyone who wrote in regards to my mother. I am coping as well as can be expected I think maybe even better. I am looking forward to meeting my newest son on Friday morning!!! I can't wait to see my husband hold him in his arms and down look into his eyes. I know he loves him so much already. This is a wonderful website and although I didn't use it too much until recently it has been a God send for me at this time. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate the thoughts and prayers from you all. I truly believe the power of prayer works and it has made this much easier for me. Thank you. ~Tracey

Happy belated mother's Day my dear. WOW, aren't you right about that.. it's wonderful to look down at them at 2 a.m. while they are savagely eating away and feeling so in love. That's my favorite time of day believe it or not. Are you still feeing a bit overly tired? You know, my hubby kept reminding me while I was pregnant that I would get less sleep when he arrived... you forget just how tiring it can be until you are thrown into it again. Jack is finally sleeping in 5-6 hr blocks of time, so I feel much better now - I think that boys are easier now that I have one. Hey, if you find that energy reserve from the good ole days, send some my way! BTW, i love the new picture of the little man - so peaceful when they are asleep! xoxoxoj

Hey there...how was your weekend? We had a great one over here. My hubby is home until this Thursday so I'm just eating it up. I'm glad he's back from his hunting trip. He's been such a great help since he's been back.
Glad to hear your feeling well. I feel great. I want to start riding my exercise bike

I dro pped all my pregnancy weight but I have more to lose to feel better. Summer is on the way and we love the water over here so I have to get my butt in gear! hahahaha...... :)

Seems like we both have beautiful boys that look just like their daddy's! I'm sooooo in love with my little man. How are you feeling? I feel great but I didn't have a c-section so I'm sure you hurt a little longer then I did. How's your little man sleeping? Gavin is doing a great job. He gets up at midnight and then again at 4am......works for me. This way I don't have to nap during the day. :)

HI :)
How exciting that you will get to meet your son so soon! I am so jealous...November seems SOOO far away! :) lol

I had NO complications from my c-section and was aobut the same weight as you were. I went into the hospital at 283 and came home at 298! They were pumping me so full of fluids it took about 2 weeks to get rid of it all but I went from 298 to 265 in two weeks! Thought it was pretty cool! :) lol (Sadly it didn't continue). As far as the incision though it healed pretty well. THe only possible problem was that it was hard to really get it clean and then totally dry due to the roll that covered it! :) I would lay on my bed and just hold a towel there after a shower for a while and that seemed to work fine.
Please stay in touch and let me know how it all goes! I'll be praying for you!

I'm sorry about your Mom...I know how it feels to lose a loved one...May she rest in peace...
Good luck with your baby :-)

My mom wasnt sick or anything. It was basically still xmas. She still had family over to her house evn though it was after 1am! All of a sudden, she began to complain that she she couldnt breathe (I wasnt there. She and i had had and arguement 2 weeks prior and we had not talked since). So my dad call 911 and an ambulance was sent immedately. When the get there, after trying to give oxgen, she still wasnt getting air in so they took her to the hospital. My mom got to the hospital at maybe 2am and had passed away at 7:59am. Heart heart failed due to blood clots in her pulmunary artery and her aorta. Prior to, she had no signs or symptoms. She had was after about to reach her 1 year or retirement this March She had been on here job for 36 yrs). And was just begining to enjoy her life and grandkids. And she was really looking forward to my new baby. But everyday, it gets a little better for me. Im just taking it oneday at a time. And I am glad that you did well at the funeral. I did ok. It just really tore me up riding in the family behind the hearse. Having the traffic stop for us and all. That was a very emotonal time for me. Other than that I did good.

laceybaby - Saturday, 12 April
Sorry to hear you spent the day at the hospital and came home empty handed. I know the feeling .....everytime I have contractions I'm afraid to go, thinking they'll send me home. I'm hoping to go into labor this weekend but if not Wednesday will do. I've been contracted on and off all day .....hopefully something will start being consistent. I take it this is your hubby's first baby, this is my hunny's first and he's sooooooo excited. I'm excited at just seeing him excited. Plus when he found out we were having a boy I just thinks that topped the cake. Now he'll have a little hunting buddy. The girls and I go with him form time to time but it's just not the same. Him and his father had a very special bond ad the hunted alot together and my hubby misses his father like crazy(his father passed about 10 years ago) so this is super special to him........Gavin's middle name is after my hubby's father..Michael.
Keep your chin up .....things will start getting better. Have a great weekend! :)

oh, and I remember a quote I once heard in Brazil: "God grows a beautiful garden on Earth, but picks the most beautiful flowers for himself". xoxo

jujubee - Friday, 11 April
Hi, it's good to hear you're past those difficult moments of the funeral and everything that comes with it. Now just concentrate on healing. I think every time we have something so difficult to go through, such as a loss, God sends us something good to hold on to, that's my theory. When my mom died it was 9 mos after I had met my husband, and I was so in love and so happy with him, I knew I had finally found the "love of my life", and having him and the prospect of a life together gave me so much strength... My mom also lost my dad when she was pregnant with my brother, that was hard, and the baby helped her heal. So you have this wonderful thing coming into your life now, to give you joy and keep your mind busy and just think your mom will be closer than ever, watching over you. My mom lived in Brazil and I was in the US, so she was always calling, and I know she had a very hard time since she missed me so much, and I missed her, and felt guilty if I couldn't go on vacation and visit her, it was always a struggle. But now I feel like she's closer to me than when she was alive, I don't have to call her, email her, or hop on a plane to be with her. I am sure she is close to me in good and bad moments, at least that's how I feel and what I believe. I hope you find comfort and are able to look forward and this exciting journey we're about to begin with these little bundles of joy about to make their entrance in the world!!

laceybaby - Friday, 11 April
I'm so glad that everything went well. It's going to take time but once your little one arrives you will hurt but at the same time it will help to keep your mind off of it. So when are you being induced? If nothing happens before this Tuesday than I will be induced on Wednesday morning. I'm so excited...I wish I would just go on my own but atleast I have a date in case I don't. How are you feeling?

You Made Me Feel Special Thank You

I'm really sorry for your loss, I lost my mom 3 yrs ago, she had just turned 53, and I think about her a lot now with this pregnancy, this baby would be her first grandchild that she wanted so much. But I feel she's really close to me and close to my baby, and she's watching over him. I'm sure your mom will always be close to you and your family. Best wishes, I hope you feel better... God closes a door but opens a window, and your baby will bring you so much joy and help you heal, you'll see. xoxox

captlinda - Sunday, 6 April
I'm so sorry for your loss! You are in my prayers.

pregnantpeach - Saturday, 5 April
I am sorry to hear about your mom. My mom passed away this past X-mas. And she would have turned 55 in Jan. I know exactly how you feel. Please take it as easy as possible. I only have one sibling, so the funeral arrangements were kinda put more on her, but she totally understood. My mom would have wanted me to put my pregnancy first. im sure yours would too. I know its hard to do, but please try to take it easy and dont stress (too much). If you need an ear, Im here. Best wishes and you and your family are in my prayers.

laceybaby - Saturday, 5 April
I just read your post and I'm truely sorry about the passing of your mother. Good luck with everything and make sure you take care of yourself and your unborn baby. You are in my thoughts......take care.

Miska - Wednesday, 20 Feb
Hi there.. I was reading your post on the GD forum. Did you ask what the extra cost is for? I paid my OB office the basic labor and doctors fee up front. But towards the end, I had to get NST's three time a week.. That raised my bill to an extra $600.. But luckily, my insurance covered most of that bill.. But, I learned that you can refuse all those NST's, you can request 1 NST a week, instead of 3.. If I would have known that then, I would have done only one a week.. But my baby was fine and her heartbeat was strong.. If there was a serious problem with my baby, I would do the NST's 3 times a week.. So, you just have to decide what you want to do.. :) I think my OB office charged $65 per NST.. It does start to add up when you have to do it three times a week, starting at 34 weeks.. Oh, if you BS is under control ask if you can just fax in your results once a week.. And if there is a problem, that's when you go in and see them.. Maybe this will help bring down the cost at your OB office. Also, have you looked into how much it will cost for you to deliver at the hospital? It's pretty pricey, see if you can set up a payment plan with them.. Since I was in labor for 32 hours and I spent a day in postpartum.. My bill was around 10K including anesthesia for my epidural.. Luckily, my insurance paid most of that ball, so what I owed was very small.. So, that might be something you need to look into, so it doesn't surprise you when you get the hospital bill 2-3 months after you deliver..
