9/18/08 - Jonathan is 5 Months Old Today !!!

9/10/08 Update

Jonathan tried Beechnut stage 1 green beans and LOVES them! He also has tried butternut squash (didn't like so well), sweet potatoes (likes), pears (likes), applesauce (likes), and bananas (really likes). I feed him 3x a day with just a little bit of cereal and about 1/2 jar stage 1 baby food. I mix a little cereal with the baby food so it is a little thicker. If I don't mix it up that way it splatters all over the place when he sucks and smacks them little lips. LOL ... He is sooo much fun. I still feed him cereal mixed with a little formula at least once a day in addition to the jar foods. I am only feeding him one 6oz bottle of formula per day now at bedtime after breastfeeding. He doesn't usually take all of it and he is breastfeeding very well. He has started sleeping 8 hours straight some nights. Not all of them! Yesterday he took a nap in his bedroom for the first time in his crib. He has a lovely cradle beside our bed for night time sleeping. Ryan wants me to start putting him in his crib for naps to get him ready to move. I hate the idea of him on the other side of the house, but it is a small house. (:-)'

I had my little man to the pediatrician today for 4-month shots and well child check-up. She wrote "healthy boy" in his chart! He weighed 15lb 4.8oz and was 25 inches. His head circumference was 42cm. Everything was charted at 50th percentile. I am still breastfeeding and supplimenting with formula. I have started feeding him rice cereal mixed with formula and he likes it. He smiles and laughs all the time and is oh so ticklish! Still loves bath time and gets at least one per day sometimes two if cereal gets too messy. I am having the time of my life!

I know I haven't been on here in ages but my computer has been down and a friend just fixed it for us ... we're taking it day by day now.

Jonathan is growing up so fast. I can't believe my own eyes sometimes. He is so heavy and strong and curious about things going on around him. I love every new day spent with him even more than the last.

It is great being a stay at home mom. We aren't doing well financially, but who is these days? We are just living pay check to pay check like most people around here. We were happy to see gas had dropped way down to $3.79 yesterday it had been up to $4.19 around here recently.

6/18/08

I had Jonathan to the pediatrician today for his 2 month shots and well child check-up. He did fine with the shots although it broke my heart. He weighs 12lb 3oz and is 23 inches long!

06/01/2008

Hello everyone! Jonathan is now 6 weeks old and keeping me very busy! He doesn't sleep very well and I am not producing enough breastmilk apparently. So we spend several hours a day skin on skin trying to make it all better. Peds had me suppliment with formula so he would gain more weight. I felt like a failure at first but now I know it helps him get what he needs. I give him 3.5 ounces of formula 3x daily.

Jonathan weighed:

8.15 on 4/18 ... Birth

8.2 on 4/21 ... 4 days = circumcision

8.5 on 5/2 ... 2 weeks = check-up

8.15 on 5/9 ... 3 weeks = weight check-up

He is so big now but I have no clue what he weighs until he goes back to the doctor on 6/18 when he will be 2 months. I have absolutely no complaints I love him to pieces!

04/26/2008

Update: Jonathan came into this world by c-section delivery kickin and screamin at 9:51 am Friday April 18, 2008. He weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. He has a head full of dark brown hair and looks just like his daddy. It's hard to believe I played a part in making something so beautiful.

Oh, it was the very best part ... when they wrapped him up in the blanket and put him in my husbands arms to show to me ... to see him look down at the little life we created with so much emotion you couldn't even begin to describe ... I just cried. I didn't get to hold him but I did touch him and kiss them both before they left. They let Ryan carry him off to the nursery while I was being put back together.

We had a ton of visitors mostly family and some dear friends. So many wonderful gifts for baby pretty flowers and goodies for Mom. We were released from the hospital on Monday afternoon and thought we would need a moving company to get all our items out to the car. Daddy made several trips to and from the car while Mommy learned a few things about breastfeeding.

Jonathan went to his doctor Tuesday and only weighed 8 lbs 2oz. I had to see my doctor on Wednesday. He said my incision looked good they took some kind of stitch out and steri-stripped me closed. It was nice not having to have staples removed. With my older boys I was closed with staples. There were 21 with Andy and 17 with Daniel. I was a little bit upset because I had only lost 10 lbs after having an almost 9 pound baby. They said I was still carrying a lot of fluid and to be patient it will come off. He also said I wouldn't need birth control as long as I am breastfeeding!!! Who knew?

More info later ... baby needs me ... and I love it!

Friday, 12 Oct

Yesterday 10/11/2007 was our second prenatal appt. and our second ultrasound. We got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Saturday, 15 Dec
We had our 5 month scan on Thrusday and It's a BOY!!!

Sunday, 13 Jan
My husband has decided to call him Jonathan!~Tracey

Monday, 11 Feb
We `re naming our little boy Jonathan Ryan! Can `t wait for him to get here.

Friday, 15 Feb
I went to the doctor today, I have been on a diabetic diet for one week and lost 8lbs. My sugar levels seem good my BP is 120/80 and his heartbeat was very strong. He kicked my OB twice while listening. I am doing better! Still have sugar in my urine??? Not sure what's up with that! BP seems to be doing better now.

Friday, 22 Feb
I went to my OB yesterday and lost 2 more pounds BP was 120/80 and all is looking well as far as little Jonathan goes. We will be having another ultrasound next Thursday! I am so excited I can `t wait to meet him. I love him so much already!

Friday, 21 Mar

My OB is the longest delivering OB around here so I am confident he will take care of me but as the date approaches I become more and more nervous about the delivery. Simply because I am having my third c-section doesn `t mean it will go smoothly does it. Especially since my first two where so long ago. Doc seems confident everything will go well these days... but the first 6 months he was sure I would spend the last several weeks in the hospital. As much as the last 3 months anyway do to preeclampsia. He took me off work - January 29th was my last day and since then I have done better and better with each passing day. The first two weeks I lost about 10 pounds of fluid! He was very worried about my BP and swelling. Yesterday my BP was 110/80 doesn `t get much better than that I don `t think. He has my weight at 6 pounds heavier than I was at my first appointment. So I have gained 6lbs and Jonathan weighs 6lbs. I am trying to eat better and monitor my blood glucose 4x a day at least 3 days per week. OB said be sure one of the days is on the weekend since I was kinda avoiding monitoring on the weekend. My baby shower was held on Sunday March 16, 2008 after being postponed due to the storm of the decade. You know how you schedule something and mother nature drops 9 inches of snow on it. My luck...lol. I got so many nice things. I am seeing my OB 2x weekly and he runs NST one day and ultrasound the other day. He said he will do this from now on and if there are no further complications he will deliver Jonathan by c-section on April 18, 2008. I hope to just go into labor and deliver him the old fashion way but that would be too easy. History~After being induced with my first son he was delivered by emergency c-section 17.5 hours later weighing 9lbs 2oz and 20.5 inches long. He was due on August 11 and wasn `t born until September 3, 1989. He is my 18 year old metal head. My second son was induced for VBAC but delivered 24 hours later by routine c-section weighing 8lbs 3oz and 19 inches long on February 1, 1994. That is my 14 year old metal head. Both came late, but the first one was conceived on Nov 10, 1988. I WONDER would I have ever went into labor on my own???

04/15/2008

Thanks to everyone who wrote in regards to my mother. I am coping as well as can be expected I think maybe even better. I am looking forward to meeting my newest son on Friday morning!!! I can't wait to see my husband hold him in his arms and down look into his eyes. I know he loves him so much already. This is a wonderful website and although I didn't use it too much until recently it has been a God send for me at this time. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate the thoughts and prayers from you all. I truly believe the power of prayer works and it has made this much easier for me. Thank you. ~Tracey

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

LoL!Keenan will be 6 months on October 15th! and he is in the 90th percentile for his height and the 50th for weight! So he is a long boy!! sometimes i wonder if he will just go straight to walking cos this kid absolutely HATES being on his belly but absolutely LOVES to stand! Yeah Keenan started cereal at about 3 1/2 aswell! and he i think was allergic to one of those 800 kinds of baby food!! I have it written down in my coupon book, so no worries i wont be buying it for him again!! But for some reason i wanna say it was peaches!? Those things stink anyway!! And we have been trying to keep him on all organic item aswell as formula i stopped breastfeeding when he was a month old, cos i wanted to somewhat build up his ammunities!! Keenan tries to hold his bottle too he is getting better at it thank goodness cos he will not let me prop his bottle which i know is bad to do anyway!! But when there is cleaning to be done and running to do gotta do it sometimes! But we use the playtex drop-ins! Yes they are AWESOME this little man is my whole world all in one small package!! I would litteraly walk through fire for him! But now that i have talked your ear off i believe i have a little man calling my name! and he actually says Mom!!! I LOVE IT!!!

turner24 - Monday, 29 September
Hey! Yeah he had grown quite a bit since i have last updated! Keenan has slept through the night since he was 5 weeks old so we have gotten really lucky with that! He aswell has started solids the dr told me at his 4 month app that it was okay to go ahead and start them just do one kind a week, and i guess next month when we go he will be 6 months(didn't realize how fast time goes)she said that i will be able to offer him juice but only in a sippie cup which i already have given him some in a sippie and he likes it pretty well!! He is not rolling over yet which is stressing me out i wish he would just do it already!! and he will sit for a tiny bit by himself before falling over to the sides!! No worries tho i am there to catch him!! Oh and my husband and i have already talked about having another one when Keenan is out of diapers of course!! But we will be hoping for a girl!! So pray for us!! It will be quite a long time im sure but there are only 4 girls on his side of the family so i have already started praying for a girl!! and i have looked up how to conceive a girl!! LoL kinda dumb i know but that is just how bad i want one!! anyhoo its getting late here so im off to bed!! talk to ya soon!!

laceybaby - Monday, 29 September
That's funny....I'm glad that Gavin is a pretty good eater. It might be that he started with a spoon so young. But who knows.
As far as his big smiles.....like Jonathan he used to just laugh and as soon as you would get the camera he would just look at you with that blank stare but recently when you get the camera and you tell him "say cheese" he smiles real BIG.....it's great. Give him time......he'll figure it out too. :)

coliflower - Friday, 26 September
I hear ya. I grew up in Northern Ontario and my Mom doesn't even have the option of high speed. They don't even have cable there. LOL Thats right it is better than nothing.

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
I just added a couple ones from when he woke up from his last nap. I don't see your new ones. Did you say you were adding then now or you already did? Let me go back and check what you wrote...

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
You poor woman. How are you ever online? My Mom has dial up too. I don't blame you for being frustrated.

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
Jeese he looks big in this pic! Those jammies look like my size! ;)

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
Edwin was a big baby at birth so the thought of an 11 lb 6 month old seems impossible to me. I pity that poor Mother if I am freaking out this bad can you imagine how she feels?
Have you tried a little bit of prunes? I know she said to hold off on the fruit but Edwin has been eating fruit since 4.5 months and whenever he gets "held up" I give him some prunes and it clears things within a day or two at most. Keep in mind though that now that he is eating solids regularily he will not poop as often anymore, breastfed or not. My Doc said once in seven days or seven times in one day is normal at this point (and everything in between).:) Edwin is starting to get really cranky too with this teething thing. Its like taking your car to the mechanic, they will make liars out of us everytime. It is funny though because I will watch him laying on a blanket cooing to himself with out him knowing I am there, but the second he sees me he starts fussing. BRAT! LOL

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
BTW. How did Jonathan make out at his appointment? All is well with the little man I assume?

coliflower - Wednesday, 24 September
Well he is all of those things. Thank you so much for showing concern for me and my little guy. That does make me feel a lot better. Let me know if I can repay the favor anytime. :)

butrfliefct - Wednesday, 24 September
I'm glad you figured it out. It helps when you write things out sometimes. Good luck.
