re crib bumpers: my son has bonked his head on the rails and had his arms and legs go through the rails. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/legislation/pol/bumper-bordure-eng.php. Amber, just wanted to show you this link. Babies are crazy and do stuff when you aren't looking. Its hard to watch them all the time. They are so quick. All of a sudden your baby will be able to move on their own. You will come into their room after their nap and find out they have creeped over. OR rolled over, or standing. you can't be every where and if you think you can... you will learn pretty quick you can't and its not something you can blame yourself for. However, keeping extra blankets or bumpers out when they are 0-4 months is a good idea and keeping them out for 4-8 months when they start to stand up and use the bumpers as part of their crib escape plans is even better. Actually, I didn't know this but bumpers are supposed to be out of the crib when they get mobile. I just read that. I have the bumpers in the closet, but never used them and don't miss them either. I think Its just cute baby junk. If you buy some cute crib sheets and a sleeping sack for night time. that seems to be all you will need. That's all we use and i've been very happy!

Amber - I hope you don't think I was attacking you about breastfeeding because I wasn't. I personally love breastfeeding and was a very lucky one in which I had no pain whatsoever and my girls took to it very naturally. I just get a bit upset knowing how much turmoil my friend went through over something which in the big picture of things is very trivial. I ended up having to have c sections with my girls and we ended up comparing it to that. Yes I would have loved to delivered naturally but couldn't and she would have loved to breastfeed but couldn't. All of our babies are healthy though which is the most important thing. With breastfeeding also the more relaxed you are the better it goes. I am sure everything will go fine for you, just remember relax and drink lots of water. Also if you find your milk slow try a hot shower. The hot water can get the milk going. Good Luck. P.S. My 2nd is an Olivia!

Hi Amber, i was reading through your message about breast feeding where they told you that noone cant breast feed sorry i beg to differ with the person that told you that im on baby No3 and was unable to feed my first 2 kids without any reason. after i had my first i felt the midwifes were being really pushy with me i had my son latched on for 3 hours at a time then he could drink a 3oz bottle after that i felt like i had failed him and ended up with bad postnatal depression for 2 years, it was only when i had a breast op 3 years ago they discovered that my breast tissue ( the ducts) did not form and i was told i would never be able to produce milk properly i was gutted but glad there was a real reason of why i could not feed my babies and this time i will not feel like a failure as a mother, dont let anyone make you feel that you are special. So if you are able to do it great if not dont worry the formulas they have outthere are just as good. good luck Take care Julie
