April 8th, 2008: I know he loves me.

We're standing in the aisle for electric razors in Target when I take a moment to tell him that he looks like he fell down a mineshaft. He has a full beard. He huffs at me and when I try to kiss him, he pulls away. I whine quietly until he comes back and immediately nuzzle up into his neck.

He smiles. I can feel it with my head against his cheek. "You love me," he whispers, very quietly and tenderly against my hair.

"I love you," I confirm. And he wraps his hand tighter around my waist and pulls me close so he can feel the baby between us, rubbing her gently with his free hand and my aching hips with the other.

I wake up early in the morning some time later when he rolls over to slide his arm around me from behind. He lays his forearm across my ribs and lays his palm on my belly. Drowsy and sleep drunk, I press my back against his chest to alleviate some of the pressure on my hips and legs. As I shift, the baby starts to kick his arm, trying to get it off of her favorite toys: my ribs. I hear him murmur something unintelligible and cup my lower stomach in his hand, as if holding her up. It takes the pressure off of my veins and circulation returns to my legs and pelvis for a blissful moment. With his other hand, he plays with my hair and caresses my neck.

It is a rare, sleepy moment. On any other morning, I would have my arms wrapped around him from behind, holding him close and kissing over his skin. I'm the dominant one in a lot of ways. I hold him more. I kiss and caress him more. I massage his whole body as both a method of relieving the pain he's in and a covert way of molesting his sleek, lean body. I notice how feminine he can be: his facial structure, for instance, is very delicate. He has high, pretty cheekbones and long black eyelashes that brush my skin whenever he nuzzles into me. His lips are large and pouty and, though muscular, his body has a distinct curviness to it that I envy. But he is still masculine, still a man. Even if he possesses the finest hips and ass I've ever seen.

As he starts to wake a few hours later, I roll over to face him and he instinctively nuzzles up against my breasts. I feel his eyes flick open a little as though just noticing that my breasts have become far larger and fuller. It's the one thing I can be proud of in this pregnancy concerning my body. It doesn't get mentioned hardly enough.

"Oh," he mutters. "A pillow." And then he buries his face in my skin and dozes off again as I massage his scalp.

I know he loves me.

Look at that precious little fist. I'm in love with those hands.

Pouty face. She was getting real fussy by the end.

I really, really love this one.

Thumb in her mouth.

Sucking on her lower lip just like I do. Well, daddy does it too.

She has a cute little smile.

So sleepy in there!

Okay, who's she looking like now? Still daddy? Me? Or both?

Uncontrolled seizures (and some are too small for you to detect) can also cause all sorts of symptoms - headaches, olfactory hallucinations, and depression. My thoughs wouldn't go directly to brain tumor, but I'd agree that it would be part of a good workup. My recommendation is to skip the private practice neurologist - go get evaluated by a hospital "epileptologist" (neurologist who specializes in epilepsy). Major hospitals tend to take Medicaid, or offer something called charity care in certain situations. Of course wait for all these things after the baby comes if you can.

That would be great if you could get away this weekend:) I imagine the weather is great down there:) I knwo what you mean about the pre-prego body. SIGH. I look at my size zero jeans with sadness. I don't think I could get my left foot into them now. I am hopeful though that we will be able to get back into shape.

That is SO exciting about your book:) You will have to let me know when you get it published. I'd love to see it:)

I'll keep you updated and you do the same k?

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 7 May
Are you on medication for your BP or are they waiting to see? Did you do the 24hr urine test? I went in throwing up with high BP. I am on procardia now. My bp is down to 127/98 :) Do you have a BP cuff at home?

How exciting about your little house:) WOO HOO! Where is Wedgenfield? We have a condo in Fort Myers...but I have not been there yet. John has family in Naples, Fort Myers and Bonita Springs. Goodness! You two CLEARLY need to have your own place. I think it will do wonders for your relationship! Freedom as well to walk around naked and do whatever you please:)

So glad that you are not working. BOOK? You wrote a book? What about?

I am totally clueless as to what is going to happen with me. I see the doctor again tomorrow so we will see what they say and how my BP is. I am ready to have this baby though:)

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 7 May
Thanks lady! How are you doing? Did you guys find a place to live? Are you done working?

I read what you wrote on week 35! I'm glad that you spoke your mind:)

seizures come in lots of different forms - grand mal being only the most severe of many types. the only way to determine with any certainty what symptoms represent a seizure are a video-EEG done in the hospital, or if you have a seizure in the presence of an epilepsy specialist. anyhow, i just didn't want you to worry about the lack of MRI - MRI only take a photograph of the brain. The only time they answer "why" someone has seizures is when they are due to a tumor or stroke, but with your history it is probably just an exacerbation of a seizure disorder you already have. seizures can be sensitive to hormones, and we all know those fluctuate like crazy during pregnancy!

Thank you for thinking of me honey! I just posted a blog about the ordeal. Hope you are doing well!

OMG I know that one only too well - lived with an ex of mine in a cottage at the bottom of his folks' garden... not the same thing, right? I didn't think so either, until the first night I stayed there and we had a bit of morning action... I was pretty loud, got ready, walked out the front door, just to see his dad standing there grinning at me... his office was in the same building.... GAH. Mortifying... his mom walked in on us once, too... I really feel for you lol. Having your own place is the best EVER... when do you think you'll be able to find a spot? The housing market sucks these days eh... we're being ripped for our spot, and there's no WAY we'll be able to buy within the next 2 years AT LEAST... so depressing...

bisbis - Friday, 2 May
Its great that you're done on sat, i really cant wait to stop work....my last day is next thursday ...but on the other hand i keep on thiking about what i'll be doing to fill up all that free time.......i'll rest loads and get some last minute shopping done for my baby and then what!

nancy26 - Friday, 2 May
LOL @ your purse, Amber ;)

It's just so good to know that I'm not alone in this... I think you're right, most of it is them being freaked out. I just hope things in the bedroom can get back to "normal" once baby is here... I mean I know it will be different having a little set of ears in the house, but so help me if I'm going to let our love-life become the physical and emotional equivalent of the Gobi desert once this is over... I guess he's just going to have to brace himself lol. I hear you on returning the favour... my dh has not done any of that since before I was PG too... if he wants it bad enough though, he thinks nothing of pulling his trouser-snake out and waving it in my face LOL. I think I should do the same :P hehehe. Have a great weekend!

mumjac - Friday, 2 May
No probs. I think that the body is so good at looking after the baby, that we would have to really TRY to do something wrong, to do something wrong. Good luck.

nancy26 - Thursday, 1 May
I so hear you about the lack of sex thing. It drives me nuts. I'm also "allowed" to give him as much head as he wants, but get nothing in return, then he asks me how "those" bits are, and I tell him they've atrophied for lack of use... and he goes "Ah that's terrible, we'll have to do something about that"... and here I am a month later with still nothing... I wonder if it will get to the point where I just end up preferring seeing to myself lol. I think this kid is SOOO going to be an only child if this is what Pregnancy is like lol.

I'm so with you on the skull-cupholder thing... I hadn't thought of that... I was going more with turning his scrotum into a purse :P LOL

Martina26 - Tuesday, 29 April
Thanx babe

melliebellie - Sunday, 27 April
sorry, probably wasn't very clear in my rant. : ) there's a lowes right across the street from us but the store we bought the crib from is 4 hours away. we got a wrench and something to put in our drill that was supposed to get the screw out but it didn't work. we were able to get another screw and bolt for when we are able to get the stripped screw out. the store manager is going to speak to the delivery company and is supposed to have a solution by monday. which i guess will involve sending someone here to get the screw out somehow. thanks for the comment though. it's just so frustrating! i just wanted the baby room to be done already.

nancy26 - Saturday, 26 April
Hi Amber! I saw your question in Breasts... I have no idea what causes it, but it seems neither do the experts, although I'm led to believe this is perfectly normal in some women...

Check this out. I hope it helps.

You're a babe! Thank you so much for your response :o) I haven't been on pain meds since I was in hospital (which was 3wks ago) but I will listen to everyone else and take it easy (grrrrrr, lol) I just REALLY can't wait to start working out again. Stay beautiful and take care (((((hugs)))))

ambernd - Thursday, 24 April
i've lost mucus my whole pregnancy, and it ranges in color from sort of whitish, to clear, to neon green.
the neon green was just my body's response to a cold, although i thought only that color was supposed to come out of your nose...
anyway, it's not a cause for concern, if you feel uncomfortable, call your doctor. some people just have more than others.
also, your back piece is fantastic, i'll be finishing mine up for my 19th birthday. : ]

jjhills1st! - Wednesday, 23 April
Ya I havent found anything either. Well thanks for getting back to me :)

nancy26 - Wednesday, 23 April
ah hang in there! you have a great gift, I know you're struggling now, but once the Preg is over, I'm sure you'll find all new inspiration in your precious little one :)

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 23 April
SO glad to hear that! Were they nice to you when you gave your notice? I hope these next two weeks aren't too hard on you!

How are you doing otherwise? Did you guys find a place yet?

I'm doing ok. Went into pre-term labor Saturday...so I'm on this blasted medication to stop contractions. Very tired of bed resting!
