April 8th, 2008: I know he loves me.

We're standing in the aisle for electric razors in Target when I take a moment to tell him that he looks like he fell down a mineshaft. He has a full beard. He huffs at me and when I try to kiss him, he pulls away. I whine quietly until he comes back and immediately nuzzle up into his neck.

He smiles. I can feel it with my head against his cheek. "You love me," he whispers, very quietly and tenderly against my hair.

"I love you," I confirm. And he wraps his hand tighter around my waist and pulls me close so he can feel the baby between us, rubbing her gently with his free hand and my aching hips with the other.

I wake up early in the morning some time later when he rolls over to slide his arm around me from behind. He lays his forearm across my ribs and lays his palm on my belly. Drowsy and sleep drunk, I press my back against his chest to alleviate some of the pressure on my hips and legs. As I shift, the baby starts to kick his arm, trying to get it off of her favorite toys: my ribs. I hear him murmur something unintelligible and cup my lower stomach in his hand, as if holding her up. It takes the pressure off of my veins and circulation returns to my legs and pelvis for a blissful moment. With his other hand, he plays with my hair and caresses my neck.

It is a rare, sleepy moment. On any other morning, I would have my arms wrapped around him from behind, holding him close and kissing over his skin. I'm the dominant one in a lot of ways. I hold him more. I kiss and caress him more. I massage his whole body as both a method of relieving the pain he's in and a covert way of molesting his sleek, lean body. I notice how feminine he can be: his facial structure, for instance, is very delicate. He has high, pretty cheekbones and long black eyelashes that brush my skin whenever he nuzzles into me. His lips are large and pouty and, though muscular, his body has a distinct curviness to it that I envy. But he is still masculine, still a man. Even if he possesses the finest hips and ass I've ever seen.

As he starts to wake a few hours later, I roll over to face him and he instinctively nuzzles up against my breasts. I feel his eyes flick open a little as though just noticing that my breasts have become far larger and fuller. It's the one thing I can be proud of in this pregnancy concerning my body. It doesn't get mentioned hardly enough.

"Oh," he mutters. "A pillow." And then he buries his face in my skin and dozes off again as I massage his scalp.

I know he loves me.

Look at that precious little fist. I'm in love with those hands.

Pouty face. She was getting real fussy by the end.

I really, really love this one.

Thumb in her mouth.

Sucking on her lower lip just like I do. Well, daddy does it too.

She has a cute little smile.

So sleepy in there!

Okay, who's she looking like now? Still daddy? Me? Or both?

Babies born at 37 weeks are considered full term and should not have to go to NICU or stay in the hospital. I think it is very rare for that to happen at 37wks and beyond!! :) Hope that helps!

Girl don't sweat the weight. I am 32 weeks and have gained 49 pounds already. For the longest time I was so bummed and disgusted with myself for gaining that much weight-I am eating healthy and walking everyday-I guess that's just what our bodies want to do right now, so even though I am the 'cautionary whale' I'm just trying ti keep in mind that it will come off when she comes out. It especially doesn't help when you get on this site and there are tiny little girls saying things like " o my god I've gained 8 pounds so far' I wanna tell these girls to suck it........but that's besides the point.

If you are eating healthy, then it is all hormonal weight that will drop off pretty fast once you have baby. The only fat hard to remove is the stuff you add with processed sugars and high fats. See it as you are providing for your bub, AND the baby/fluid/placenta are probably a lot of that weight too. Keep doing what your doing and realise you are beautiful, and healthy Mum who is doing a great job looking after her baby, keeping them healthy and safe.

Mmm...just came across your site. LOVE your blog!!!!!! As for the comment about week 37...most babies are full term and do not need NICU attention. My friend just had her baby at 37 weeks. However, I have friends who had babies at 35 weeks not needing any NICU care and then had a friend at 37-her baby did need NICU but only because he was breathing too quickly.

Good luck on your pregnancy:)

yalls day sounds soo fun n cool. Actually after 2 or so months its easier to o things w a baby than a toddler so dont think that this is it. I did w/ my first and i regretted not utilizing that first year as much as i could. Babies will sleep n eat on the go n dont get bored=cranky as easily bc everything is new and exciting. a tot wants to run n go n gets upset if he/she cant so u really have to plan plus they dont sleep on the go and need to be in their bed for a good nap, after nap time skys the limit. i just need my swing n tub. BRU were out of my crib last week n we were waiting til next friday/payday to get the swing. really i was holding out for cash from a grandparent but ive waited long enough lol ;) r u gonna have a shower or if so will it prob be a surprise???

Martina26 - Monday, 14 April
they changed my due date to the 19th or 24th now ;( ive gained like 40lbs i have to say like b/c i just cant bring myself to say the number. i dont eat a lot but very poorly w/ no excersize so it is no surprise but still ;( i could handle the weight more than all these stretch marks i heard bio oil helps soo ill try it after he comes, i feel like ill never have him, just BH all the time now and a lot of pressure. how have u been feeling???

Martina26 - Monday, 14 April
whats going on??? r u just having a down day. i did yesterday since my boy dropped i got what seems like a ton of tiny stretch marks on the underside of my belly. i had to have a mirror to see them--no more bikinis for me n i look weird in a one-piece b/c im short n my proportions r kinda off ;( i just felt gly n huge. hubby doesnt care but i do n he didnt know how to comfort me so i really felt pissed n mad. is ur man still out of town?? feel better babe ;)

I'm in the same boat as you :) I've been eating pretty healthy (sometimes I have a little junk :P), and I'm up to 185lbs! I've gained 50lbs, I guess it's just what our bodies need! Hopefully it will all fall off afterwards :) Congrats on your little girl!

my doc said... "you will get another u/s at 38 weeks if you are still prego..." So i guess hopefully not... even though i kinda want to know what to expect... if i'm gonna have a 10 pounder, i wanna know!! haha! We may get another u/s privately around 36 weeks... but we'll see.. is your u/s on wednesday with your doc or private?

i've been reading what to expect when your expecting, The week by week pregnancy guide, and great expectations resource for pregnancy and childbirth... that's nice that you are naming her as a tribute to your grandfather! I think that Dani is really cute for a girl's name.. our son is going to be Aiden Charles Wilkins... my husband picked Aiden and Charles is my father's middle name. your baby doesn't look deformed to me.. she is gonna be a cutie... i think that girl is only on here to stir up some drama... do people seriously have nothing better to do?! I know what you mean about forgetting there's a baby in there! I feel him kicking all the time.. but i think it's gonna take hours of labor and finally a cryinng baby for me to realize that i actually am going to be a mommy!! haha!

Steffy-cant-wait-for-June!!! - Sunday, 13 April
i know what you mean... i have started to go through phases at this point... i get nervous or overwhelmed... Aiden definitely LOVES his feet!!! at the 4D u/s, he had his foot in his mouth... he was doing that at the 19 week scan too... he's my little acrobat! :) Do you have a name picked out for your little girl?

Steffy-cant-wait-for-June!!! - Sunday, 13 April
congrats on your baby girl... her pics are soo cute... i think she looks more like you than she does daddy... you are getting pretty close... are you excited?

In response to your post from yesterday about the pain the the vagina area, I'm with you. My pelvic bone itself is ok but the outer tissues are so sore especially when I first get up for sitting or out of bed. It throbs and is so swollen it's just nasty. I've been reassured that it's normal because of extra pressure from the baby but I did NOT have this with my first daughter. It's like I need a support hose for my crotch or something.
