April 8th, 2008: I know he loves me.

We're standing in the aisle for electric razors in Target when I take a moment to tell him that he looks like he fell down a mineshaft. He has a full beard. He huffs at me and when I try to kiss him, he pulls away. I whine quietly until he comes back and immediately nuzzle up into his neck.

He smiles. I can feel it with my head against his cheek. "You love me," he whispers, very quietly and tenderly against my hair.

"I love you," I confirm. And he wraps his hand tighter around my waist and pulls me close so he can feel the baby between us, rubbing her gently with his free hand and my aching hips with the other.

I wake up early in the morning some time later when he rolls over to slide his arm around me from behind. He lays his forearm across my ribs and lays his palm on my belly. Drowsy and sleep drunk, I press my back against his chest to alleviate some of the pressure on my hips and legs. As I shift, the baby starts to kick his arm, trying to get it off of her favorite toys: my ribs. I hear him murmur something unintelligible and cup my lower stomach in his hand, as if holding her up. It takes the pressure off of my veins and circulation returns to my legs and pelvis for a blissful moment. With his other hand, he plays with my hair and caresses my neck.

It is a rare, sleepy moment. On any other morning, I would have my arms wrapped around him from behind, holding him close and kissing over his skin. I'm the dominant one in a lot of ways. I hold him more. I kiss and caress him more. I massage his whole body as both a method of relieving the pain he's in and a covert way of molesting his sleek, lean body. I notice how feminine he can be: his facial structure, for instance, is very delicate. He has high, pretty cheekbones and long black eyelashes that brush my skin whenever he nuzzles into me. His lips are large and pouty and, though muscular, his body has a distinct curviness to it that I envy. But he is still masculine, still a man. Even if he possesses the finest hips and ass I've ever seen.

As he starts to wake a few hours later, I roll over to face him and he instinctively nuzzles up against my breasts. I feel his eyes flick open a little as though just noticing that my breasts have become far larger and fuller. It's the one thing I can be proud of in this pregnancy concerning my body. It doesn't get mentioned hardly enough.

"Oh," he mutters. "A pillow." And then he buries his face in my skin and dozes off again as I massage his scalp.

I know he loves me.

Look at that precious little fist. I'm in love with those hands.

Pouty face. She was getting real fussy by the end.

I really, really love this one.

Thumb in her mouth.

Sucking on her lower lip just like I do. Well, daddy does it too.

She has a cute little smile.

So sleepy in there!

Okay, who's she looking like now? Still daddy? Me? Or both?

Thanks! Im totally making him come to the next doctors appointment with me!

orion-utopia - Sunday, 16 Mar
Wow! Id kill to be able to eat that much a day! Its not that I dont have any cravings, its just that Im so desperate that anything sounds good. Basically my every waking moment is spent thinking @ food...mostly meat and cheese, which is weird cuz Im vegetarian. My bf is all 'why do you have to eat so much? The baby is still tiny, right?' I tried to explain that it will probably stay that way if we dont feed it but he seems a little dense in that department...

csewell0301 - Saturday, 15 Mar
Well i have medicaid and my bf has health insurance. we want to put the baby under both his insurance as primary and medicaid as secondary. Can we do that?

orion-utopia - Saturday, 15 Mar
Hey Amber, thanks for the message. I know I should be eating more just there is never anything in the house! Plus I cant even decide what to eat if I had a choice. What do most ppl usually eat in one day?

mariela14 - Thursday, 13 Mar
alright...thanks!

mariela14 - Thursday, 13 Mar
what iron supplements are you taking? i'm supposed to get any kind of over the counter ones cuz mine was a little low too but i don't want to get constipated! so i've been putting it off. let me know how yours are working for you. and congratulations! : )

my-lil-miracle - Thursday, 13 Mar
about the whole 'preterm labor' thing, I highly doubt it... that happens to me too, You just are pushing urine out at the same time you are pushing for the poo... I'm sure you know this already but water helps with constipation sooo much... I am on iron too and to be honest sometimes i skip it just so i can have a bowel movement... I don't think you should worry too much, but do make sure you talk to your midwife about... 99 percent sure it's just urine though.... Good Luck

Thank God! I was beginning to think that I seriously was the only one out there who wants or understands why people would want a c-section! I have been getting lectures from so many people telling me that I will be doing something bad or be less of a woman if I have a c-section. I felt like no one understood! I have a heart condition too, and have had open heart surgery about 12 years ago now. I have heard that the reason why our Dr.s gives us a hard time about elective c-sections is they often don’t collect all there money from insurance companies. I wish that they would just listen to us and understand. After having heart surgery, and appendectomy, I feel like I could go through any type of surgery and be just fine! Plus I don’t want my sex life to change – selfish I know but many people tell me after they have a vaginal birth sex is and never will be the same. Thank you for responding to my post you have made my day!

Hey - it almost sounds like a form of Tachycardia. My husband was born with a heart condition and he's been through a lot to say the least. I know that with my 2nd section, my BP dropped after they started the epidural. My 1st was a breeze though - as far as surgeries go :) I think that letting you labor would be too much on your body, not that the section doesn't have its risks, but you may be better off that way. I hope that all works out for you and raise your voice when you need to be heard, it's your life & baby's life and they have to follow your wishes or you can pursue legal action if necessary. You can even contact the civil liberties union, they love a good human rights fight :) Please keep me posted!!!

About the scotch tape cravings - call your doctor. You might have pica, which can be pretty serious. Better check with him or her, and do not give into any non-food cravings, as they could be very harmful to your child. Good luck.

***MDelly*** - Sunday, 9 Mar
I am sure she will. My oldest is like a carbon copy of me and my youngest looks more like dad but with some of my features too. You have pretty eyes btw.

***MDelly*** - Sunday, 9 Mar
Thanks for the comment about my family also. :)

***MDelly*** - Sunday, 9 Mar
I could understand why if you watched that. lol Ugh that is awful. Don't worry hun I didn't feel a thing. I was totally numb from the waist down. They say you might feel some pulling but it doesn't hurt at all. Good luck hun. Oh btw looked at the pics and I have to agree that baby will look a lot like daddy.

DeannaCarmen - Sunday, 9 Mar

This is the definition of Pica straight from this sight, it's under Cravings....PicaSometimes women will crave other non-food items, such as laundry detergent, charcoal, alcohol, clay, coffee grounds, cigarette butts and dirt. This is a condition know as pica, and it can be very dangerous. If you are experiencing anything that is not food, you should contact your healthcare provider. Your body may need additional vitamins or minerals......Hope that helps

my-lil-miracle - Sunday, 9 Mar
YOU NEED TO CALL YOUR DR.!!!!!!!!! craving scotch tape is most likely a sign of PICA, that is where you crave out-of-the-ordinary things, anywhere from toothpaist, ciggarette butts, chalk, clay.... and scotch tape seems to fit this catagory... this can have something to do with a mineral deficiency in your body... make sure you call your dr. or midwife today or tomorrow to make a appointment.... Good LUCK! and congrats on your little bundle!!!!!

meredyth0315 - Saturday, 8 Mar
Hey mama - we're almost neighbors! I saw your comment in c-sections and had to let you know that happened to me with my 2nd. It was actually very scary, I felt like a hot shooting pain, and wanted to turn away from it but couldn't. I thought I was having a heart attack actually. Tears came from the corners of my eyes without realizing it, and I couldn't catch my breath. Then about 10 mnutes later it was over. And it was from putting my uterus back in. Don't get me wrong, my recovery was great and I don't ever use/need the pain meds after, but that really threw me. I'm hoping to avoid a 3rd section this time by having a VBA2C. Can I ask what your condition is? If you do end up with one, from my experience they aren't really bad, especially if you can tolerate pain. Send me a message anytime if you need more experince info on them. Hang in there :)

***MDelly*** - Saturday, 8 Mar
I just read your post and that never happened to me. They stitched my uterus up and put it back but I never felt horrible at all from it.

Moody-Mama - Saturday, 8 Mar
So I haven't kept in the loop...Did you get a new doc?? Don't worry about the weight gain, you'll lose it. Especially if it doesn't look like you've gained that much!

ourlovetoken - Friday, 22 Feb
Thanks for the help and congrats on your little one :)
