I am currently expecting my 1st full term child after 2 miscarriages. My husband and I are both excited and happy to be bringing this little girl into the world.

I live in Western Mass and don't have much family around and we are the 1st of our friends to add children to our home. To us, having a faily has always been important. After all if two people can love each other as much as we do, isn't it only right to share it with a child.

One day we will add a foster child to our home, but for now we would like the time to enjoy our little girl.

I plan on returning to work after she is born. Which will be tough- but I think I am ready for it.

We both believe children are wonderful creatures (and the parents are the insane ones.)

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Oh I did get it for free - the DVD. I have Humana and they called me after I had the baby and said they offer a free service of a nurse that calls you once every two weeks to check on you and the baby. And she said they would send me a book and the DVD. I couldn't say no. Glad I didn't.

I started reading some books suggested by a midwife friend. The more educated I became about the truth in birthing, the more de-programmed I became to realize that I am not sick or ill and my body was built to give birth. I craved more knowledge and heard anout what Doulas can bring to a birthing couple and thought that sounded great. I then looked into what it takes to become a doula and realized that I have most of the books read that is required reading for certifcation. Mind you I have not taken some of the classes yet but I have read everything they teach. I am going to pursue getting a certification, altho you don't need one to practice. Certified means that you can get paid by insurance companies instead of straight out of pocket clients. I want to take the clesses tho, I think that would ease more minds. Doula's are strictly mothers helpers. We do not preform any medical duties. We care for the couple, massages, accupressure, Optimal Fetal Postioning, relaxation techniques, options for birthing positions, mainly reassurance that everything is OK. Look into some programs. I live close to Seattle and the seattle midwifery school has classes. There is probly one close to you in Mass. Would love to chat more. This is one of my favorite subjects...birth.

I hear ya. Don't get me wrong, I'll be a stay-at-home mom, but we won't be getting any assistance. My husband CHOSE for me to stay at home, due to wanting to start a family and because of medical problems that I'll have for the rest of my life. He wanted me to be able to enjoy life without the stress of a job. I've always worked, and even worked up to 3 jobs at once many times. However, if something changed that we couldn't afford for me to stay at home (which drives me crazy anyway, since I'm used to working) then I would go out and get a job, regardless of my physical/medical problems. I would not expect others to pay my way. As for right now, I am very grateful that I'll be able to stay home and care for our son. Once our child(ren) get in school, I plan to work part-time, so I can at least get out of the house and contribute to society. There are too many others out there that could do the same, but choose not to, just because they're lazy. The way I see it, if you're really concerned about those that don't have healthcare because they're too lazy to work, donate to your local hospital. I'm sure they accept donations for those that are low/no income. I don't feel that it's something that should be pushed on everyone else, especially when it comes to those you mentioned. ;)

I know, I wish I could take more time and I know my boss would let me if I needed it. But I just don't want to get too far behind financially. I know we'll be fine but I always like having the bills paid as soon as I get it in the mail instead of waiting and letting them pile up. I would have to pump at work then?

Hi. I am really sorry that your family feels that way. I am positive that you are a very strong person and you'll be able to be the best mother to your little girl without any problems. I am wishing you all the best...and also very happy that we are both having baby girls.

Yes CArlson has a great (low mercury or none) brand of salmon oil...I freeze them and take them before bed so I don't burp fish taste. I get them at naturalgrocers.com (calling in gives you a better price).

TEXBABY - Wednesday, 18 June
My doctor told me last week (at 31 weeks) that I was measuring 34 weeks. She told me that he is going to be a larger baby or he had a good growth spurt over the last month.

jennifaye - Tuesday, 17 June
Well good luck to you! Hopefully we have just the right size babies ;)

reneemt78 - Tuesday, 17 June
this is baby number three for me and I am measuring almost 3 weeks larger than I should...per my Dr and per another ultrasound that I had 1 week ago. Since My 2nd child was 9 lbs. 1 oz...my Dr is saying that I make big babies and will not change my due date!! But we are both on the same page when it comes to not wanting me to have another 9 lb baby!! Good luck!
