Hello, my name is Amy and my husband and I are expecting our first baby in early November. I am 25 and he is 29. We have been married for 2 1/2 years. We decided to "try" and got prego on the first try. I couldn't believe it! I thought it would take a few months. We are so excited! My sister is also pregnant and due in July so its fun to have someone to talk to about all the crazy things pregnancy brings on us. My first appointment is on March 31st!!! I'm so excited. I will be 9 weeks. It feels like I have been pregnant for so long already. I can't wait to hold my new baby!!!

I'm glad I have this website to chart my pregnancy. Its much easier than keeping a journal and I can just print it when I'm not pregnant anymore to look back on everything. I can compare this pregnancy to the next.

So we went to my second appointment on Friday 4/25 (12 weeks) and we heard the heartbeat for the first time!!! It was amazing. My husband talks about all the time now. It feels more real now. I was almost crying. The doctor said that I now have a 95% chance of having a perfect pregnancy!! yay! It was good to hear good news. I have gained 3lbs so far. Not too bad I guess. It will catch up with me I'm sure. I'm feeling great now! Not half as tired and not sick anymore. Now I love being pregnant!!!!!

May 20th-

Today I had another Dr. Appt. My husband came with me again. At 4 months I have gained 5 lbs. I got my blood taken for a downs and chromosome test. We heard the heartbeat and it was 144. I think its a boy! We will find out in 3 weeks at my ultrasound. I can't wait. While she was listening for the heartbeat we could hear the baby moving around. It was so cool. It was a loud swiching sound. Very neat to hear. I'm feeling really good. Pretty much back to normal. I think I have been feeling the baby move a little. Its hard to tell but I think I can tell the difference between gas and movement. Its right below my belly button and it feels like light tapping. I can't wait to feel a big kick. I won't be saying that in a few months......when the baby is kicking my ribs and organs.

May 27th-

Today I went to my usual tuesday night yoga class. We had a very fast pased class with lots of moving up and down. It was a great class. As I was sitting down to catch my breath I felt the baby moving all around. It was so cool. Its the first time that I can really say it was the baby. It was hard to tell for awhile. I guess the baby likes being tossed around in my belly.

I heard about a way of finding out if its a boy or a girl. Take drano and mix it with your morning urine and if it turns brown that means its a girl and if it turns green/blue its a boy. So I tried it and it turned brown. So maybe its a girl!!! We find out on June 9th at my ultrasound. I wonder if its true? I can't wait to find out!!!!!

June 1st, 18 weeks-

I had a bug for 24 hours. It was horrible. I couldn't keep anything down and my body was so sore. Now that its over, my back is killing me! and I'm exhausted. I felt so guilty not being able to eat anything for so long.

My ultrasound is scheduled for June 9th!!!! I can't wait. 7 more days!!!!

June 5th- I found out today that my oldest sister is pregnant with her second baby. And my other sister is also pregnant with her second. All 3 sisters pregnant at the same time!!! I can't believe it. They will all be about 2-3 months apart. Holidays will be so much fun!

I have been feeling the baby move alot in the last few days. I Love it! Its so cool. I can't wait to see it move on monday!!! My belly button is starting to stick out. Its so wierd. I didn't think it would but it definetly will.

We found out today that its a BABY GIRL !!!!!!! Yay!

June 23 @ 21 weeks- I gained 2 more lbs! Now I'm up to a total of 8lbs gained so far. The doctor said I have not gained much but she is not worried about it yet. She said I should gain 15-25lbs total. I think I may gain more than that from what I hear from other pregnant women. The baby has been moving and kicking alot this week. On sunday Eric was able to feel a few kicks for the first time. We could actually see my belly moving! It was so cool. Now she doesn't stop moving. She is a very active little girl. I have been going to yoga every tuesday and I think its doing me good. Its not prenatal yoga but I have been taking regular yoga for over 2 years now so they say it ok for me to continue. I feel strong and energized. I am alot more flexible than I thought I would be. Hopefully it will help me out during labor and delivery!

25 weeks- I have been having alot of braxton hicks contractions lately. It happens all day long. I'm going to ask my doctor on tuesday if its normal to have so many. My baby is very active and moves alot so maybe she is making the contractions more frequent. I have gained about 13 lbs so far. Its starting to catch up with me. My nipples have been leaking alot. My doc said to leave them alone or it could cause contractions. We don't want that for another few months so I better ignore it. The past few nights I have been waking up with numb hands. Its wierd but it goes away once I start moving them. I asked about the contractions and she was a little worried that I had so many in one day so she checked my cervix to make sure I wasn't going into pre term labor. She said it was fine and to call if I have more that 6 in an hour. My back and hips have been hurting a little. It must be from the extra weight. Thats it for now!

Names: We have 2 names picked out and I can't decide. We like Molly Elizabeth or Julia Grace or Julia Ann. The middle names are family names. I never thought picking a name would be harder than the pregnancy!

My sister Katey had a baby boy on 7/26/08-On the due date!. Boden was 7lbs.13oz and 21in long. He is healthy and doing great! He is beautiful! I was lucky to have been there in the room for the whole labor and delivery like I was for both of my nieces. Its always a great experience. She had a pretty easy labor and quick delivery. I hope mine goes as well as hers did. She makes it look easy. Now I really can't wait to have my baby girl.

27 Weeks: 7 months!

Now that I'm in the 3rd trimester things are a little different. I have many more aches and pains. I have sciadica in my left hip and my lower back is sore. It hurts to walk or bend over or even get dressed. So I can't do much moving around like I was. I haven't been sleeping as well either. It hurts! I wake up with ligament pain in my belly and I have been having lots of wierd dreams about work and the baby. Work has been a bit busy and stressful lately. Only 12 more weeks and then I can have a 8-12 week break from work. I am going to the doctor to get a refferal to the chiropractor. I hope they can help with my pains. I will try anything. The baby is moving alot these days. I love to watch my belly move. Sometimes I can see it moving slowly but can't really feel it. Or other times its rocking from side to side. I think she likes to dance already!

My husbands cousin sent us our first baby gifts off of my registry. He bought us a bassinet, swing and a diaper pail thing and also a sound machine for the baby. I was so excited that I put the bassinet together all by myself in the 90 degree heat. I love it! It converts to a co sleeper so we can have it attached to the bed or wheel it out the living room in the day. very convienent. We have the crib up and now we need a dresser/changing table. Thats next on the list. My family is throwing me a baby shower on Septermber 28th! I'm so excited to get the room ready!

29 weeks 8/19/08:

I had another appointment yesterday. I had my glucose test. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I htought that I would be realy hungry after not eating for 3 hours but the drink filled me up. Hopefully they will call with good news that I passed. I would hate to have to take the 3 hour blood test. uhhhh.

I weigh 151lbs. I have gained a total of 18lbs so far. It took me like 6 months to gain 6lbs but now its catching up with me. They said I'm just right for 29 weeks and I should gain 25-30 total. My belly measures 27in. This little girl sure is growing fast! I can't believe we only have 11 weeks left. this pregnancy has gone by soooo fast. I have been spending time with my new nephew who is 3 weeks old. Getting ready!!! My sister wishes that I could help breastfeed him, haha. It sure looks like alot of work but I will try my best to succeed. I love to put him on my belly when he is asleep. I say he is bonding with his little cousin. Its crazy to see him curled up on my belly because in another few months I will have a baby that big inside of me. So wierd!

The nurse called me today and I passed the glucose test! Yay!!!! Buy my iron is a little low so I have to take supplements. I heard that they make you constipated. I sure hope not! That would totally suck.

8/21/08: This morning I woke up at 2:30 and couldn't fall back to sleep. So at 3:30 I got up and had some cereal thinking that it would help me sleep........I was wrong. I didn't sleep for the rest of the night. My husband came in before he left for work at 6:30am and as usual the baby was very active. She always wakes up when I ususally do at 6:30. We were feeling her kicking and it seemed like a rythm. I realized that it was the hickups. It was so cute! It was the first time I felt that. She rolls around all morning and gives us a show. Its my favorite bonding time with her.

9/25/08: 34 weeks

I had an appointment this week and I was measuring a little small. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday to mesure the amount of amniotic fluid and the size of the baby. She said everything is probably fine but just to be sure, she wants a formal ultrasound. She did a quick ultrasound with a small machine and it looked like the fluid was fine. She said, Wow your baby moves alot! She was laying sideways and as she was looking, she flipped and turned breech. She seemed suprised! I told her that she is a very active little girl. I may be measuring small because she is still moving into different positions. Hopefully she will learn how to turn around before she is born. Wish me luck!

I had an ultrasound on Friday. We were so nervous. The ultrasound tech said that it looks like there is a good amount of fluid and the placenta looks good. The baby weighs 4lbs 14 oz. and is in the 40th % for size. The doctor will call me next week with details but im sure if there was something wrong they would have called me right away. Now we can relax and stop worrying. She is still breech and she was looking right at us. She has some hair on her head! I can't wait to see her!!!

My baby shower is this weekend. I'm so excited! Eric painted the room and put together the dresser/ changing table so were getting there. Once I see what I will have and need to get I will feel more ready for her arival. I have been getting up alot to pee at night now. Its getting worse every week. And everytime I get up I get a contraction. Sleeptime is not so much fun anymore :( My boobs started to grow again and I hate the nursing bras I bought. They are so uncomfortable. I have gained a total of 25lbs so far and i'm feeling it. My feet hurt when I stand for too long. And my hands are sooo fat now. No more rings for me for awhile. They hurt alot at night and go numb. Thats it for now!

9/29/08 - My doctor called with the ultrasound results today. The baby is in the 48th percentile and is good weight and has plenty of fluid. Good news. But.....the ultrasound tech noted that she thought her leg was in a strange position. They sent all the measurements to boston and they didn't say anything about her comments so hopefully its nothing. We have a diagnostic ultrasound scheduled for friday to find out for sure. The doctor said that it could be nothing or it could be a clubbed foot. Not good! It might be because she is breech and in a funny position. We hope so anyway! Its going to be another long week waiting for the appointment. I'm so nervous and sick to my stomach that something could be wrong. Everything has been perfect until that second ultrasound. Uhhhhh I wish I could know that my baby is perfect and healthy and I wish I could enjoy these last weeks. Wish me luck!

My baby shower was great! I got lots of great things. Now I just need my baby to get here and we will be all set!

We had another ultrasound today with the specialist and everything looks fine. She is frank breech so her feet are up near her face. silly girl. It can't be comfortable like that. Were going to try playing music down there to encourage her to turn around.

10/09/08- 36 weeks

I had an appointment today with the nurse for a strep b test. I should get ther results later in the week. While I was there I told her that yesterday the baby wasn't moving very much and I was a little nervous. She just wouldn't move and I tried everything. So she decided to put me on the heart monitor. My doctor came in and said she is just perfect and everything looks fine. She did an ultrasound to check the fluid and thats good too. She was moving while I was hooked up but I couldn't feel it. She has been moving ever since. She is making me nervous already! Now I have to start doing kick counts every day. She is still breech! I wish she would just turn around! We will talk more next week about what to do next. I think I might try the inversion. I think thats what its called? When they try to move the baby. Either that or I can schedule a c section which I would rather not do. She checked my cervix and its still closed. Now I am at home having contractions...... I hope its not from the internal. She said she could feel her butt. Hopefully they will go away!

I have gained a total of 27lbs. The baby was 5lbs last friday. They said that she was in the 48th percentile last time but my doctor read the charts and it says she is in the 18th percentile. Thats a big difference! She said she if fine and maybe she will be potite but that 5lbs at 35 weeks is just fine. I can't wait to see her!!!!!
