MY BIRTH STORY

I went into hospital on the 24th Sept at 9am to be induced nearly 2 weeks early. I had my 1st prosten around 10am, about 5 hours later I was only getting really mild contractions. I was given another prosten at around 4pm, I really thought that would make my contractions enough for me to go into proper labour, I was wrong. I had to have prosten the next day. I was in alot of pain during the night so didnt get any sleep. I was getting alot of pain at one point but then it went away because I changed position.

During the day the babies heart beat was being checked by the midwife. Around 4pm it was checked again but then there was a problem, babies heart rate kept going up to 200bpm and going down to around 50bpm. Kept doing this for a while so the midwife said I should go down to the labour suite. I got rushed down there so I could be monitored better.

I was put on a drip because they thought I might be dehidrated, this can make the babies heart rate chage alot. Half hour later the heart beat was still the same, no change so that meant the drip was not doing any good.

I was then told I had to have an emergancy c section. I was not prepared for that, I hate needles, but I knew it was for the best.

I went into theatre at 5.30pm and had my baby girl at 6.07pm. It was such an amazing feeling waiting for her to cry so I knew she was out of me and ok. When me and my husband saw her for the 1st time we both cryed, it was so emotional.

The midwife who was in the theatre with us said the cord was round my babies neck twice and tied, so thats why she got distressed in me. She weighted 6 Ibs 3 ozs.

The c section was not that bad after all, I wouldnt even mind having another one.

MY PREGNANCY

Hello everyone. Im currently 5 weeks pregnant. My husband and I planned this pregnancy like we did with the others. I fell pregnant straight away again. Im so lucky as this always happens. I done a test at home, 2 days before my period was due. I used clear blue digital as I had heard it was very good at detecting pregnancy early.

This is my fourth pregnancy but only had 2 successfull pregnancies. It was my first pregnany that went wrong when I was just 21. My baby died inside me when I was 32 weeks pregnant, the baby was a girl. It was a terrible time for me and my husband. Being the first made it worse I think because you just think what if I cant ever have children etc.... My 2 other pregnancies went normally and I knew in myself that everything was normal, strange how you know isnt it. I knew all along that something was wrong with my 1st pregnancy.

5th March 07

I went to the doctors to check if I needed to start taking 75mg aspirin each day again like I had to with my last 2 pregnancies. The doctor said I did have to as it helps with alot of problems that can occar in pregnancy. So ill be taking it until im 36 weeks preg. I still havent had my first proper doctors appointment with this pregnancy, I was told to wait until I was 10 weeks pregnant, so my appointment is next weds, ill be seeing the nurse and the doctor. My first scan should be around 12 weeks.

I have been feeling really tired for about a month, but even more this week, I have been going to bed at 9pm lol. My husband is being so kind. Im starting to get really funny with food as well, I never fancy anything for dinner, and the smell of cooked meat makes me feel really sick.

16th March

Two days ago I went for my first appointment ( I was 10 weeks, 2 days preg) I saw the nurse and the doctor. I had my blood pressure and wee checked, all was normal. They weighed me as well, I am 8 stone 11 pounds at the moment. The doctor asked me loads of questions about any illnesses in the family and past pregnancies. The doctor asked me to lay down on the bed and he checked my heartbeat and he pressed down on my tummy, he said he couldnt feel anything. That worried me so I said is that normal at this stage, he said it was normal.

I was given 3 forms, all to take to the hospital. 1 was to book my 12 week scan in, 1 other was to go and have a blood test with and the other was to give to the maternaty department to book at midwife to care for me during my pregnancy. I took all these to the hospital yesterday. Had my blood test done, now I have a massive mark on my arm and it hurts. I booked my scan for the 28th March, so can't wait for that.

Im still feeling tired, but dont feel sick much at all. In the mornings I gag (nothing comes up) sometimes but then im ok.

27th March

I've got my 1st scan tomorrow. I'm really nervous about it incase my baby has died or nothing is there. It's at 9.30 in the morning so at least I dont have to worry all day.

28th March

I have just got back from my 1st scan, it was brilliant. My baby measures 6.2cm and i'm 12 weeks 5 days preg, instead of 12 weeks and 2 days, baby is due on my wedding annivarsary 5th Oct, not the 8th now. He or she was moving so much im surprised I cant't feel it yet lol.

2nd April

I've just got my appointment through by post for my next scan, It's on the 25th May. I will be 21 weeks then. They will be checking all the measurements, heart etc.. to see if my baby has everything its meant to have.

I felt really sick this morning but feel ok now, just dont have any energy as usual. Im 13 1/2 weeks now so should be starting to feel better soon.

18th April

I'm now 15 weeks and 5 days preg :-) I'm feeling ok most of the time however have been getting more headaches than normal. I have felt the baby move for a few days now, only a little each day. Can't wait to feel it more. I have got my midwife coming to my house this Friday the 20th to do my history. I havent seen a doctor or midwife for nearly 6 weeks now, I had to contact the maternity unit to chase the midwife up, they most of lost my paper work or something as they were meant to contact me. I think its terrible considering I have had a stillbirth before.

I havent put on any weight yet. I can still get into my jeans but I think its because the cut is low. I have brought some new clothes anyway as my old clothes have started to feel uncomforable even though they still fit.

24th April

I'm now 16 weeks and 4 days preg. I saw my midwife last sunday the 22nd (she cancelled my other appointment that was meant to be on the 20th). I was very disappointed because she just done paperwork :( she didnt attempt to listen to the heartbeat (I havent heard it yet) or feel my tummy. My next check up is after my next scan thats on the 25th May, I will be 21 weeks then. One good bit of news that came out of the appointment was that I should be induced at 38 weeks due to my history.

I feel my baby move more when I have abit of clothing on that isnt very loose, there are days when I dont feel anything but then I just remind my self that its still early days and i'm lucky that I can feel it this early as alot of people cant yet.

28th April

I had my bloodwork done last thursday the 26th to check for downs etc.. I was in 2 minds to have it done or not, as the results can come back a false positive quite often. I had it done with my other pregnancies so thought I would again this time.

I'm glad I went now because I got to hear the babies heart beat for the first time because I asked to hear it. The midwife said they dont normal attempt to hear it until after 20 weeks incase they cant find it, but she tried anyway. She found it straight away and it was beating at 148. I thought that was quite slow but she said it can be between 110 - 170 to be normal.

8th May

I'm now 18 weeks and 4 days pregnant, time is going so fast! I feel my baby move loads now each day and sometimes can feel it on the out side of my tummy as the movements are getting stronger.

I had a letter from the hospital confirming my baby is at low risk at having downs etc..., I had the blood test down just to prepar myself, I wouldnt of aborted my baby, no way.

I'm really looking pregnant now and feel my uterus is just above my belly bottom when I lay down.

1st June

I'm 22 weeks preg today. Had my 20 week scan last friday the 25th May. Everything looks normal with the baby, I was so relieved about that.

I'm feeling really good at the moment, even though I feel massive. People think I look more further gone than I am. I will post a pic of me soon lol.

30th June

I'm now 26 weeks preg and feeling fine. I saw the consultant for the first time yesterday and everything seems fine at the moment with the baby. She booked me in to have another scan at 32 weeks to check all measurements. Babies heartbeat was 148 bpm. I have gained around 1 stone, maybe abit more.

18th July

I'm now 28 weeks and still feeling fine. I had a blood test 2 days ago to check my iron levels, had a letter today from the doctors saying to make a non-urgent appointment for the results. If they dont find anything wrong normally they dont want to see you so I'm guessing I will have to take iron tablets.

Baby moves around so much, sometime one side of my belly is raised, probably babies head or buttom lol. My husbands mum and dad brought the pram for us yesterday, this was really nice of them.

I've only got just over 9 weeks now for the baby to be born as I'm being induced 2 weeks early, that is if the baby dont decide to come along before hand.

11th August

I'm 32 weeks 1 day preg today. I'm getting really excited to finally having my baby here now. I'm going to babiesrus this afternoon to try and get a few bits as I havent really got anything yet.

I had a scan yesterday and baby is measureing prefect. The scan was so clear I could see him/her drinking and the fluid going down the throat. Babies head it downwards, fingers crossed it will stay that way now. My children Jake and jodie went and they found it really interesting. They can't wait to have the baby here as well.

I saw the consultant after the scan and she said everything seems fine. I'm seeing her gain in 4 weeks time and then she will tell me the date that I will be going into hospital to have my baby. It will be 2 weeks early still so should be around the 21st Sept.
