So My Name is Angelaina and I graduated from Paxon High School in 2005. I attended a community college for a year and a half and then decided I wanted to move to Atlanta, Ga to further my schooling. My boyfriend and I moved in together and shortly after that purchased 2 min pins named Pahpi and Simba. From there my 1st child was conceived and we decided to name her Ayirah (Ah-year-uh). My boyfriend was very excited but I think he would've much rather have had a boy first. Oh well, I won. I am currently back in Jacksonville, Florida to have my little girl and intend on eventually moving back to the ATL.

My family is of Jamaican and Chinese descent. Although I was born here in Duval County, we are very big on representing your nationality. My boyfriend is from Tuscaloosa AL, so I guess you can call him the ultimate country boy. We look forward to purchasing a house and someday getting married. I'm not having anymore kids until we do.

MY BIRTH STORY
It all started at 2:10 am on Dec 26th, when I was feeling horrible pains.. I tried to sleep it off but it was just unbearable.. Around 4:21 am I woke my mother up and told her I thought I was having contractions.. She timed them and they were about 5 minutes apart.. My mom called the doctor and I tried to breathe through the pain.. around 4:45 I was out the door and on the way to the hospital.. I arrived and had to do some paperwork before I was allowed up.. I got upstairs, was hooked to the monitor, and tried to swallow the pain.. The nurse came in and let me know my contractions where about 3 minues apart and where pretty strong.. She went to check me and broke my water by accident.. Unfortunately when she broke it, it was a dark yellow color.. The nurse explained that the baby had a bowel movement in my stomach and would need to be closely monitored.. She also gave me the good news that I was 3 cm dialated..
To make sure the baby was okay, the nurse gave me an internal monitor.. It hurt so bad when she put it in.. I wanted to cry but I was relieved when she brought in a man to give me my epidural.. It did not hurt at all.. After the epidural I was ready for anything.. they increased the pitocin and the labor progressed.. By this time my baby's father arrived along with my father and cousin.. It was around 1:15 p.m and I was getting kind of sleepy.. The nurse put a catheter in and I was very happy.. She checked me again and I was 5 cm.. The movie DreamGirls came on and we all sat around and watched it.. The whole time I was pressing the epidural button to get more juice.. there was still pain on my right side..
At around 3:30 pm the nurse came in and checked me again.. I was 6 cm and sooo ready to have her.. She sat me up and told me that I needed to have the baby that day.. I decided I should start calling people to let them know. I called my best friend, and texted some other people.. Then I dozed off.
I was continuosuly checked and around 11:00 pm I was 9 cm.. I was soooo happy because it took so long and I was exhausted from sitting on my butt and having no food.. The nurse told me if I didn't get to 10 cm within an hour they would have to do a C-section..There were IV's in my arm b/c of the GBS and I was just done with the hard stomach.. At 11:30 p, I was 9.5 cm, pusing, and in a lot of pain.. The baby head was bobbling and I was feeling the pressure to push from the contractions.. The nurse eventually had the idea to bring in a mirror so I could see what i was doing down there.... After that It was really easy.. I pushed so well I saw the top of her head.. The nurse called the Doctor in to get my baby out..
The doctor came in and told me to show him what I had.. lol.. I started to push and he coached and told me push a little harder.. After 10 mins of pushing her head fell out, and then her body.. I started to cry because I was so relieved.. My boyfriend began to cry and wanted to know if she was ok.. Her Apgar scored was an 8, and then a 9.. They brought the baby and I began to cry more.. she was so beautiful.. This is my story..
