Hello all,

I figured it was time I put something in here about myself.

I grew up in a small town Vermont. I met and married my wonderful, beautiful husband Heath about 2 years ago after dating for 3. When I say he is the man of my dreams I mean it. Heath was the hottie I'd see driving around in his nice Jeep when I was in high school and I'd think to myself - "I loveed to meet that man" and guess what...I did about 7 years later - he was dating my long time boyfriends sister!!! YEAH it's not what ya think. We never actually dated until both of our relationships had dissolved and we all had moved on. We have spent the last 5 years just being in love and enjoying each other and have now decided it is time to share some of that love with a baby!! In order for me to get pregnant I had a lot preparation to do as, I am, a type 2 insulin dependant diabetic, with high blood pressure (both run in my family). After several visit with my doctors (endocrinologist, OBGYN, high risk pregnancy specialist etc.) I was finally ready to try and conceive! It took us nearly a year and boy was it a long year. Just when I thought it was never going to happen for me and after several disappointing pregnancy tests I finally got a positive! I couldn't believe my eyes I thought it was never going to happen. My sister and brother each have two beautiful children. My sister's are like my own - her daughter is actually more like me than her own mother and she is the apple of my eyes. I just wanted soo bad to feel what it was like to have something need and love you soo much. I wanted this baby more than anything in the world and for some reason when I was wasn't getting pregnant I thought I was being punished for something or maybe I just didn't deserve it? But I now know without a doubt that was not the case and it just took that long because that is the way God wanted it to be (I am not very religious just have a lot of faith). SO here I am four months 1 week and 1 day later happily pregnant! I I'm taking three months off this summer after I have the baby to just enjoy and get to know my angel and I can't wait.

I wish you all healthiness, happiness and baby dust!

You are not the only one who has waited 6 months for this sex drive to kick in. I am still waiting too. I feel bad for my b/f, but he understands. I am the same, he is lucky if it is once a week. I try to atleast give him that, but everyday I always tell myself,'Ok, tomorrow.' Then the same thing the next day. I am just never in the mood, I am way too tired. So no you are not left alone in this situation. LOL. :) Maybe it will kick in for us soon before it is suppose to get really uncomfortale. I hope. Good luck!

No way. You're not the only one that feels that way. Trust me. I wish I had that amazing drive everyone talks about too, but it's just not there.

Hey..No need to worrie..I have A LOT extra and you can totaly see the baby moving around...My hubby was able to feel it at like 26 weeks i think.. around that time.. now at 30 weeks we can see him doing flips and the whole bit...it's awesome...strange to watch..lol.. but awesome either way. Same as I never thought my belly button would pop out... but it's super shallow now.. so I'm just kinda waiting for it to happen...no ever told me it hurts when it tries to flip out lol.. anyways, good luck on the pregnancy!!!

I know what you mean about the boss not thinking you can handle it. That is why I don't ask either. It just sucks, cause that is all I want to do is go home and crawl in bed and It is only 11:00am and I can't leave until 5. It really sucks.

Thanks for your post - I'm not too worried as everything else was fine and the sonographer was quite relaxed with it. But typical little boys hey!! Ahh I just read your blog about how hard you tried - it gave me shivers, it's so nice to see so many wanted babies on here! I am very emotional at the moment - I only have to look at his scan pictures and I blub! Yesterday was so great!! Good luck for next week - I'm sure all will be fine for the both of us and I'm excited that we get to see our little men again!!

Great news! Congratulations on your baby boy! Very happy to hear that every thing worked out for you. Ultrasounds are amazing but at the same time can cause so much worry!

Hello =)

I'm sure everything will turn out fine. No reason to worry yourself sick - undue stress not good. Please keep me posted as well and thank you =)

Hello,

Yes, my levels came back real high because of my age I am hoping. I'm 1/67 for downs. Scan went ok but he does have a bright spot on his heart. I opted out of the amnio because I would not have aborted anyway. I pray everything will be fine and I try not to worry. We do NST testing every week in the hospital just to make sure his little heart is working correctly. He passes every test thank our good Lord =)
Whatever happens I know it was meant to be......He is special either way, and we love him =)

doctors never explain things properly! Its so frustrating. Your numbers mean you have a 1 in 161 chance of having a child with DS or Trisomy. This number is considered a red flag, i believe more testing is done the lower the number. I think mine was one in ten thousand. However... keep in mind these tests OFTEN show false positives and false negatives. Do not get worked up over the numbers. Just because your numbers showed an increased chance, the will do a detailed ultrasound, looking for other markers on baby that can indicate ds or trisomy, such as the nucheal fold, nasal bone, brain ventricles...etc. If they find these markers, then they will suggest the amnio... which does have risks but will give you a definate answer. My triple screen test came back normal, but at my ultrasound my babies brain ventricles were dilated which is a marker for DS, so I was in the same boat as you worrying and freaking out! I learned through my pregnancy that all these tests and markers really only make you worry more! After several ultrasound throughout the pregnancy the ventricles finally shrunk to a normal size and baby was born healthy, however we were so worried that he had DS or Trisomy my pregnancy was basically ruined. I didnt have the amnio because my doctor never offered it. I wish i would have to ease some of the worries though. So my point is... dont stress out, these tests are ridiculous and are often wrong!! Wait for your ultrasound, get the amino if it will ease your mind, do what you have to do to feel better, but in the mean time, try not to get worked up. I did and ended up with high blood pressure and had to have my baby a month early!
