April 16, 2008~ Thought that I would finally get back on here and write up my birth story. I started having contractions on the night of the full moon on the 21st of March... went into the hospital at about 4am b/c my contractions were about 5 minutes apart. Got there and they, of course, tappered off. So I was sent back home to deal with the pain there. They stayed at about 4 to 5 minutes for the rest of the morning but then at about 1:30 while I was cooking some lunch for us, all of a sudden my water broke. I went up to the bathroom where I found out that there was def. maconium in the fluid. So we packed again and went right to the hospital. Well, I guess it is more serious of an issue than I thought b/c they brought me right to my room and put me on pitocin to get things moving faster. So the contractions got really strong and at 6pm I had my epidural. Felt alot better after that! They checked me and at 7cm thought that I still had a while to go. Not even 1 minute later I started feeling a lto of pressure and I started screaming at the hubby that I had to push. He ran out to get the Dr. and she didn't believe me that I had to push b/c she just checked me at 7cm. But she checked again and sure enough Skyla's head was almost out. So they rushed the team in and I gave 2 more good pushes and she was here! It was the greatest birth ever! Especially considering with my fist he took a total of 28 hours to come out. It was great!
November 2nd~ Went for the ultrasound this morning and thank goodness, everything looks great. They actually bumped me up by almost a week after they did the measurements on the baby. He/she weighs 12 oz. so that was a relief. I'm glad to know that everything is right on track. The baby was so active while the test was being done. I was hoping so badly that the technician would make a slip of the tongue and call the baby "he" or "she" but no....... oh well, guess I will have to wait a little longer to find out what we are having.
November 15th~ Went for our 3D ultrasound this morning and what I thought would never happen... happened!! IT'S A GIRL! Would've bet anything on that it was a boy in there. Even my family Dr. said that she thought it was a boy. Well, was she wrong! So, I am on my way out the door to go and buy my first "girl" article! So excited!

November 24~ Well, we get to meet the newest addition to our family today... not our baby (phew) but our new little puppy. We just became proud owners of an 8 week old chocolate Lab. I'm not sure what I have gotten myself into... but we have been wanting a dog for quite sometime now and the opportunity just fell into our lap so we took it. We are moving into our new house in 3 days so there is a lot of excitement going on for us right now. Hopefully I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. We shall see. In either case I am very excited and my little guy is over the moon with anticipation! In regards to my pregnancy, I am feeling really good. I have had more energy and am in better moods these days. Which is a relief for both myself and hubby! lol. I am having some aches and pains but it doesn't compare to the movement that I keep feeling from my little girl! It is too exciting. Well, until next time ladies!
December 5 2007 ~ Well I am feeling very uncomfortable today. I have been very irate and I feel like my stomach is going to explode... just over all filled with discomfort. I was going to go to the Dr. yesterday morning and get my sugar test done but it stormed here so I had to reschedule it for tomorrow afternoon. I am not looking forward to that test. I would rather get 100 needles then have to drink that crap! I remember from when I was prego with Brady, I had to drink it and it made me sick for days! Hopefully this time will be different. A higher tolerance for it this time around?? Anyway, I am guessing that when I get weighed tomorrow it will be another 10 lbs added onto the scale. It seems like I am on a roll with 10lbs per month. Arrrgghh.... I'll be huge by the end of it. Well enough "drudging" for the day hopefully the next time that I feel like writing in here I will be in a much better mood. lol.
December 18th~ Well, yesterday turned out to be a very interesting day! I was wating for a prego friend of mine to arrive in the city but due to the weather her plane was delayed. We were planning on going to UCBABY to get 3D pics done for her baby. I was going to meet her there at 6 pm lastnight. So I headed over and her plane was delayed even longer. So while I was waiting I was just talking to the ultrasound technician.... she asked me to call Leslie to see how much longer she was going to be.... which was another 25 minutes o so. So then she said" well instead of us sitting here doing nothing.... lets go take a look at your belly!" I was soooo excited. So I got to go and see my little girl again and has she ever changed since the last set of pics I had done. So after it all.... Leslie showed up and the tech put all the pics on a CD for me to take home to show the hubby. It was a great night.
January 15 2007~ Well I've hit the 31 week mark. I can't believe that I have actually made it to this point. After all that we have been through in the last couple years I thought that it would never happen that I would be able to have another baby, let alone a precious girl!! I am getting so excited! Especially since the nursey is all painted and I am waiting on getting some things from ym shower to fill up the big empty room. 9 weeks... I can't believe it. Skyla is def. giving me some good ones in there though. I am so sore all along my ribcage and taking a deep breathe is near impossible now. I can't wait to be able to be "normal" again. I love having her in there but the aches and pains are almost enough now..... I would like her out and here for me to cuddle. Other than the normal complaints though I am feeling really good and I feel really lucky that I am able to go through this again. Hopefully I will be able to be blessed with another in the near future. I can't believe after all my complaining I am already talking about getting prego again. Oh my!
Things Not To Say During Childbirth....
-- Gosh, you're lucky. I sure wish men could experience the miracle of childbirth.
-- Do you think the baby will come before Monday Night Football starts?
-- I hope your ready. The Glamour Shot photographer will be here in fifteen minutes.
-- If you think this hurts, I should tell you about the time I twisted my ankle playing basketball.
-- That was the kids on the phone. Did you have anything planned for dinner?
-- When you lay on your back, you look like a python that swallowed a wild boar.
-- This whole experience kind of reminds me of an episode from I Love Lucy.
-- Oops! Which cord was I supposed to cut?
-- Stop your swearing and just breathe.
-- Remember what we learned in Lamaze class! HEE HEE HOO HOO. You're not using the right words.
-- Your stomach still looks like there's another one in there.
