I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and 5 days so I am thinking this is going to be a very long pregnancy! My husband and I are both very excited. We have been together for almost 10 years, since we were 18. Got married at 21 and have now decided it was time to start a family. I found out earlier this year that I have PCOS. I got on clomid and progesterone and the second month of being on these pills I got pregnant! I never realized how scarry it was going to be the first trimester. It is like I don't want to buy anything until I hit week 13, which is Dec 27th. I am not telling my work until then either. We have told all of our friends and family already. I am so excited and just hope that everything goes really smoothly.
Well we were able to find out!!! It `s a GIRL!!!!!! She is 2 pounds, that makes her in the 83rd percentile. Her heart rate was really high, 178, but they said it is okay. They were able to see the chambers of her heart and her facial features and everything looks great. Next appointment is April 11th. I will be 28 weeks so I will be getting my Rhogam shot and doing the diabetes testing. Then after that appointment I will be going every 2 weeks until the 36th week. We were both so glad that everything looks good with little Makayla. So nice to be able to actually say it is a girl and have everyone believe me and not want actual `proof `.
Monday, 14 April
Had my 28 week check up last Friday. Makayla's heart rate was 154. I am measuring at 30 weeks. Had to do the glucose test and get my rhogam shot. They should get the results to the glucose today and then I should know in a few days. I can't believe that it is only 11 weeks and 3 days until my due date! It is going by so fast!!! I am excited and nervous all at the same time. My next dr app is on the 25th. Down to appointments every 2 weeks :)
Monday, 21st April
Just a quick note, got my glucose test results back on Friday and we are good to go, no gestational diabetes. Yahoo! Next appointment is this Friday. Things are going by so fast I can hardly believe it! My hubby took a few pics of me yesterday and I guess I didn't realize how big my tummy is getting. I mean I know it is growing but I had not seen a pic of me in a while, and it is getting really big! :) I really do love being pregnant though. I think it will be kind of sad to not be after I have Makayala.
Monday, 28th April
On Friday I had my 30 week check up. I am measuring at 32.5 to 33 weeks. If I am still measuring 3 weeks ahead at my next appointment i am going to ask if I can have an ultra sound done to try to determine the size of Makayla. They said that the "normal" range is give or take 2 weeks. So average for this appointment would have been 28 to 32 weeks. I hope that I get to have another ultra sound that would be awesome! Everything went great at the appointment. Makayla's heart rate was 146. The doctor said she has turned and in postion already and that it is very unlikely that she would turn back around again, so that is good. I have only gained 4 pounds this whole pregnancy so I am very glad about that. Being overwieght I really didn't want to have to loose baby weight on top of what I already weighed before I got pregnant. They had me go ahead and schedule the rest of my appointments for my pregnancy. I guess that made it seem so real to me, pretty crazy. We are going to a baby care class tomorrow evening from 5:30-8:30. It teaches you how to care for your infant, safety issues, and feeding and comforting your new born. I figure that this class will answer the main questions that I have. The time is just flying by! I am so excited for my baby showers. I have one shower on May 17th and one on May 18th, yahoo! I can't wait to meet our little girl!
Monday, 12th May
Last Friday the 9th, I had my 32 week check up. I am still measuring 2 weeks ahead. So that puts me or Makayla at 34 weeks. The doctor said that around week 38 we might do an ultra sound to see how big she is so from there he can determine if he wants to induce me early or not. She is still head down so that is good, hopefully she stays that way. Her heart rate was 154. I have gained a total of 8 pounds now, so still not bad. We went to our baby care class 2 weeks ago. It was a good class and taught us some good things and then just confirmed a few other things for us. This last weekend we worked, well my mom and hubby worked on Makayla's room. Got it painted, her wooden letters painted with her name on it, chair rail hung up and partially painted. I will post pics when it is all done. It is looking really cute. This coming weekend we will be out of town for my two showers so it will not get done this weekend but on Memorial Day weekend we should be able to get it finished up and the furniture moved back into the room and then I can start decorating. I have decals that match her bedding set and such that I want to get up and the curtains and stuff like that. Can't believe there is only 52 days left until my due date! Pregnancy has been awesome and I have enjoyed it so much!
Friday, 23rd May
On Wednesday I had my 34 week check up. Everything is good. Kayla's heart rate was 153 and she was measuring at 35.5 weeks, so still around the 90th percentile. I gained 1 pound since me last appointment so that is a total of 9 pounds now. I am hoping to not gain much more in the next few weeks. I read that your weight gain should slow way down or stop about week 36, we will see about that. My blood pressure was up again 130/90 so they had me lay on my left side and it went down to 114/70 crazy how that works but I am glad that it does. My feet and ankels are swollen and I have not been able to wear my rings in 3 weeks but the doc said it is all normal swelling and there is no protien in my urine so that is good. My baby showers went great this last weekend. We got SOOOOOOO much stuff. Total from both showers there were about 60 people there. We ended up getting 32 bags of diapers from the diaper raffles! So many. Our living room looks like a tornado has passed thru it with all of the baby stuff. This weekend we are finishing her chair rail and then will be able to start putting it all away and getting it all organized, I can't wait! Next appointment starts my every week appointments and I will get a group B strep culture taken and also get an exam. I am so excited for that, never thought I would say that! But I want to see if there is a change starting and all of that! Only 41 days left, crazy!
Wednesday, June 11th
Last Friday I started my every week check up, week 36. He checked me and I am a half of centimeter dilated and no effacing. The doc says that is perfectly normal since this is my first pregnancy to be that way at a 36 week check up. I also had my group b strep test done and should get the results from it at my appointment in 2 days. My blood pressure was high again and they had me do the usual lay on my left side for 3 minutes and then retake it and it was back down of course. Kayla's heart rate was 141. I lost a pound so my total weight gain is 8 pounds now. Kayla is still measuring on the large side, so I am still measuring 2 weeks ahead. The doc is going to let me have an ultra sound next week, at week 38, so we can see how big she is. He is not worried that she is a really big baby but he knows I really want another ultra sound so he said that my measuring is reason enough to do one. This time we are going to take a blank DVD so it can be recorded and see if they will switch it over to the 4D for us. I really hope she will not be covering her face. We are super excited for the ultra sound. I will book it when I go to my appointment this Friday, so I am not sure on an exact date but it will be next week sometime for sure. I can't believe how fast this is going by! Only 22 days left, it seems so unreal. I remember way back when it felt like this date would never get here and I had so much time left! This weekend Josh and I are going to get our overnight bags packed for the hospital. Tomorrow I will be 37 weeks, so exciting!!!!
Wednesday June 18th
I had my ultra sound yesterday at 4pm to check out Kayla's size. I was a little disappointed because I thought I would get to see a lot more and that I would get a better idea of how big she is but that has to wait until Friday when my dr will go over it with me. So the tech said her best guesstimate is that she is currently between 7-8 pounds right now. And I didn't think about the fact that she is so big right now that they wouldn't be able to get good shots of her because she is so big. Her head is fully engaged in my pelvis so we could not get any facial shots of her. And since I am so far along there is not as much amniotic fluid as before to really show good pics of her because that is what helps you see her on the 2D ultra sounds. So after the appointment the tech gives all of the figures to someone there at the office and they put together a report and send it to my dr's office and he will go over it with me there. I will post more after my Friday appointment. Hopefully I am more dialted and effaced some what by then. It will be 2 weeks from when I was checked last and hopefully there is improvement from it.
Monday June 23rd
Happy Anniversary to us! Today is my husband and my 7th anniversary. My last dr appointment was this last Friday. Kayla's heart rate was 146. I gained 2 more pounds for a total of 12 pounds now. The results from the ultra sound show that as of last Tue they estimate her at 7 and a half pounds, so if this is correct she is about 8 pounds now. The doc checked me and I am now 1.5 centimeters dilated and 30% effaced. He said that is good that I am making progress and that is about normal for right now. My next app is this Friday and we will see where I am then. I think I have changed my mind about being induced around my due date. The reason I wanted to is because of getting paid from work. I would rather have her here with me rather than sitting around at home waiting. But if I have to I will just take another week unpaid off of work. I would rather have her come on her own and choose her own birthday. My last day of work is this Friday, 6 days before my due date. I can't wait. I am finally to the point where I am over being pregnant. I am ready to feel normal again. Only 10 days till the 3rd! I can't believe it is almost over!!!!
I can't wait till we have our little girls!!! Only a few more days for you!
wow!! she's got a lot of clothes!! the nursery is beautiful! i love how simple and girly it is!
