I've been married for seven years and we have a six year old daughter. It took us two years to get pregnant with this baby because I have polycystic ovaries. Finally, on the third month of fertility treatments I got pregnant!

I felt the baby move for the first time on January 15th! Also, I will find out the gender on Feb. 8th. I have a feeling its a girl but we'll see. (Update: I'm having a BOY! And we're naming him Caleb Maddox)

My daughter has been talking to my belly and hugging and kissing the baby goodnight. She is so excited to have a sibling on the way. It's all she can talk about.

I've been craving apples and california rolls. Every once in a while I'll see an ad for something and I just have to have it. The other day I saw a commercial for skittles and I made my husband run to the store!

if u get 12 diapers and wash them every night not hard!! U will be fine... U can let them on for a while!!! Leaking?if u ignore changing the diaper! Which I have! Ha but no leaking not a problem...

Hi, I used Kushies (half the price in US compared to UK) which i thought were brilliant for first 6-9 months. I think i had quite a few (more than 10) but you do need the inners to make them absorbent enough to make them worthwhile. (Kushie inners are rubbish). My sister used different ones and was happy with hers too. To wash them I put them in the machine with Nappisan which kills nasties from 30 degrees (do you have that in US?) rather than soaking them in a bucket like my mum had to.
PS use disposables at night as wet washable nappy makes the baby wake up - found this the hard way!
Hope this helped?!

Hello there. I have been using disposable diapers but was wondering if you could send me someinfo when and if you get some on the cloth diapers. I feel its about time I start moving this world into a better direction! with two babies going to be in diapers come September it might help the wallet as well! Thanks so much and you've inspired me!

Okay~ the low down on clothe diapers.... They rock and are much easier NOW than in years past. BumGenius is exactly that genius. All in 1's. I would buy some newborn sized diapers for the first month or so, then the 3.0 will do. For about the first month the 3.0 don't fit right, they say 7lbs but the babys are just to small and there is alittle leakage. Your baby will need about 12 newborns cloth diapers to start. You will be doing laundry everyday with that little amount but I recommend only buying 12 newborns to start., they are expensive and do not last long. The 3.0 are great beacuse they grow with your baby. I would suggest buying about 20-24 of them. Then you do not have to do laundry everyday.
Next buy liners, the disposible kind. They sit inside the diaper next to babys skin, when he/she poo's you take the liner and poo and flush it. If no liners then buy a spray wand, it attaches to your toilet and is easy to use. You rinse the poo in the toilet. Buy a wet bag for the diapers or a pail with lid. Keep a lil soapy h2o in the bottom of the pail for pre-soak. Makes it way easier to wash. I have much more advise but feel like i can talk for hours about this. You have more questions??.... I am your girl! I love cloth diapers! There are great starter packages out there too, then you only need to buy one here and there to get you thru. Hope this helped.

I have never used cloth diapers before, but I commend you for doing so. It's better for the environment and for your wallet! Maybe I should try them...

jeanniemarie - Tuesday, 15 April
I used mother-ease with my son 5 years ago. I loved them and they are one size.

kgarner - Tuesday, 15 April
o wow...cloth diapers are amazing!....a money saver and well l i totally recommend them! i would use snaps...and you can only really strt usin them when baby hits about 8 lbs...but best of luck!...dont let anyone discourage you! its alot healthier for baby!

delta - Tuesday, 15 April
If you use them be prepaired to have to wash alot! There really cute, until baby goes poo, and you have to clean that out! I would try just a few and always keep some pampers disposal around just in case you find you have had enough.

mommy2jkserjl - Tuesday, 15 April
I am going to be using the AIO cloth diapers. This is our 8th baby and I tried the ones with pins in the past and the ones you have to fold, way to much to do. I know people who love the AIO. I just ordered some for my 16mo old daughter and will get about 24 to have for the newborn as they poo poo alot!!! There are many sites out there if ya just google them. Good luck!

luvdeternally - Tuesday, 15 April
If you have MySpace, my screen name is almost exactly the same. I am going to cloth diaper this time around and I am part of a very helpful group. If you check out my page it's in my groups. :-)

on the washing front, thats why u get about 16-20, people say u waste water, but the money u save makes it all worth while. they say u will be doing more washing, but omg, u will be anyways, and buy the disposable liners, for when it has a poo and u just chuck the liner away. u buy them, like 100 for a couple of pounds. the lady im buying them off is doing another home visit for me so i can double check everything, so any questions ask and ill ask her...

mizzy - Tuesday, 15 April
my aunt recommended cloth diapers to me when i had my first son,but im glad i didnt lol. With breastfed babies they poop about 10 times a day untill they are three months, and that isnt including pee's.i have no idea if you plan to breastfeed or not.breastmilk poo is pretty watery messy stuff and it leaks so easily! hard to keep babys bum rash free too.this was my biggest reason for disposables.honestly your washer and dryer would be constantly at work.6 full peed diapers a day are also the expected for most of the first year.hope this help a little.i didnt want cloth diapers but thats me,good luck with whatever you choose :)

ukdutypaid - Tuesday, 15 April
hi there, im buying cloth nappies, dont know if we have spoke before about it, my memory is shot to pieces, lol. im using the bum genius 3.0 now they are expensive but u dont need an outer cover, so they work out cheaper. and 1 of these will last from birth to potty. im buying 20, which does come out to be 280 pounds, ive seen them on ebay for less in the US... if ur in the UK they do a scheme where u can borrow the money for them. go to http://www.bumgenius.com/
they only have one bit of velcro the rest is poppers. ive seen them and they look great, thin aswell. and the lady that came round with all the differant types said this is what everyones buying and they love them..x.x.x

Thanks for your reply. My last U/S was at 19 weeks. I was told everything was fine but a lot can change in 10 weeks. I’m not worried or anything, I just feel that detecting a problem before physical symptoms appear would give a good head start on resolving the problem. I’m going to ask about it at my next visit, which will be at 31 weeks. Thanks again.

I called my doctor and went to see the nurse practioner and she said my cervix is VERY low! Yikes! That is probably why I am having so much pressure "down there"! Anyways, I am not dilating yet thank the Lord!

I left the MD and went to get some lunch and then returned back to work. The nurse practioner then called to tell me she talked it over with my doctor and he wants me to start on weekly progesterone shots! UGH!!! But if that is what keeps our little Paityn from not arriving too early, then so be it! I will do anything to have a healthy rest of my pregnancy and baby!

Ive been reading alot of your messages about c-sections, They are helping me alot, Hope you dont mind,
I see someone has said about bouncing back quickly after a vaginal birth, I didn't as ive already said in my post to you, I was so low because of what id been through and couldnt move properly for nearly 2 weeks because of being stitched wrongly down below, I also suffered few after pains aswell.
My health visitor was concerned i had postnatal depression visited often but i always denied it until about 12 months after where i broke down at work,
But with support from my Husband and wounderful family i got through it ok and am looking forward to our new arrival in nov, Though still plan on talking about c-section this time,And to my surprise everyone around me has said they dont blame me,

lucyfee - Sunday, 13 April
hi!

the tugging sensation during the c-section was fine for me. it reminded me a little bit of being at the dentist and getting a tooth out! You're aware of them moving about inside you but its nothing awful! remember your baby will have been twisting and turning and kicking for weeks before she comes out so you'll be well used to alien sensations in your tummy!

you'll be fine!!!

melge - Saturday, 12 April
thanks for your reply, good to know other people have gained the same as me!! good luck with the pregnancy x x

clairelouise - Thursday, 10 April
HI Thanks for your message about a c-section, It has helped but im still so nervous and am dreading the birth, My labour wiht my Daughter was 43 hrs long, She was forcepts delivery as she got stuck and i had an episotomy, they wouldnt allow me painkillers untill after 12 hrs and then i was given a tablet,Useless thing that was, i was then given gas and air by one midwife and told off by another who said i didnt need it,
I was 1cm dialated already when they carried on inducing me as i had seriously high blood pressure and protien in my urine,
I had epidural because of this but couldn't have it until 5cm and i was only 2cm for over a day, they tried to speed it up with a drip which didnt work and they attempted to break my waters about 8 times but it was to high they couldnt reach the sac,
In the end a doc saw how much distress i wa sin and got someone wiht longer fingers who just managed to break them,
And OMG it was horrendous, my daughter had opened her bowls and it wa stage 2 they said so had to be monitored at all times,
Thats when i got my epidural and i was screaming in agony before i got it,
My husband was great and our parents kept popping in and checking but it was upsetting for them aswell.

The room was full of docs and midwives when i started pushing and after 2hours they said i needed help, Thats when they cut me and used the forcepts,
Afterwards i went into shock and was told she should have been a c-section delivery,

nells-bells - Wednesday, 9 April
I had my first child by c- section, it was sort of planned
we tried to induce twice with me being 1 1/2 weeks over-due but nothing happened. So you can say I had time to adjust to the fact of having one. Delivery was easy I didn't have an epidural, they gave me a shot in my lower back that numbed me from my chest down, which didn't take long to wear off afterwards, recovery was fairly easy I was up and walking around soon after. The only thing I had trouble with was learning to sit up again on my own it does take a couple of days, Now with my second one even if I had a choice I would choose a c-section. It has been almost a year and I have not had any problems. The numbness of the scare has decreased also.

NumberFive - Wednesday, 9 April
