I just read your post. My doc won't give me another ultrasound or ever tell me my baby's weight or size either. Isn't it frustrating?

Thank you so much for the nursery comment! :)

I bought a night gown and robe set from Sears, they also have nursing bras, i also ordered some nursing pj's from motherhood!

lachikis1984 - Wednesday, 9 July
Actually Victoria's Secret recently started selling nursing bras! Go get yourself sized at a store, the girls there will let you know what exactly you need, and then order a bra from the website. Only problem is the selection is small, along with the sizes. I have to get a 36D cuz they don't have 34DD. But check it out, and they aren't very expensive like most of their bras.

z-mommy - Wednesday, 9 July
I just bought two nursing bras from Motherhood and they also have some really cute thin cotton nightgowns (calf length) that come with a matching light night gown for $30. Good luck!

Our son has very sensitive skin and, as one of the girls commented she can't use wipes, neither can we. We use Pampers swaddlers sensitive. It's what our hospital used too. Our son actually got a chemical burn from other diapers, so these really seem to be great. Good luck!

PAMPERS!! We've tried Huggies, and the generic Wal-Mart (Parent's Choice) and Costco (Kirklands) brands, too. The generic brands leaked BADLY. I could not even turn my daughter horizontally to nurse in the Parents Choice brand because I would get tinkled on every time I fed her!! Our favorite is the Pampers SENSITIVE. They smell like baby powder and have a little yellow line that runs from the back of the diaper to the front. It turns green when the diaper is soiled. They are SUPER soft, comparable to cloth diapers. I also liked the Huggies, they were great, too, but they didn't have the scent or yellow indicator line. Now, Huggies has the BEST wipes, that I've found. We love the green tea/ cucumber ones. They are thick and soft and smell awesome. Not so much luck with generic brands on wipes, either, lol. My husband and I are totally convinced that in the realm of diapers and wipes, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! And I grew up on everything generic, so this was a huge disappointment for me. But I feel better putting Charlie in the Pampers Sensitive brand. The couple bucks extra they cost is TOTALLY worth it. Good Luck and hope I could help!! Oh, and don't stock up on too many Newborn size, buy those as you go. Stock up on the size 1. You'll need plenty of those. :-D

Hey! My son turned 4 weeks yesterday, so I am a brand new Mommy and his diaper was the first I had ever changed. My hubby and I bought all the main brands of daipers and found that our favorite is the Pamper's Swaddlers, and we just moved him from the Newborn, to the stage one as the newborn's started getting small. Huggies came in a close 2nd, and we actually use both on him because we received so much at our shower. Luvs totally sucked! Really cheap. Well I hope this helps, good luck to you!

I also use the target brand diapers. I love them! They are the best price and fit my daughter really well. She is going to be 8 weeks old and she still easily fits in size 1, it goes from 8-12 pounds so I have been using them since she reached about 8 pounds(she was only 6 when born) and they work great.

MamaMissy - Saturday, 28 June
I used Kirkland (the Costco brand) and they work great! Plus I get a huge box of 234 for only $30 - cheaper than pampers ($20 for 104). My little girl never fit into the newborn size. She went right into size one, but she was 9 pounds 2 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. So I wouldn't "stock up" on newborn diapers just in case you do have a big baby. I had to give 180 newborn diapers to the local shelter, which is great, but then I had to go out and buy a ton of bigger diapers. Yay... =)
Congratulations!

I compared prices, and for the ones I looked at, Target generic was the cheapest, then Kirkland (at Costco). I didn't look at Walmart. Both Target and Kirkland are great. I only used one pkg of size 1 before we moved up to size 2. No need to spend the big bucks on name brands!

tatianamommy - Saturday, 28 June
I like pampers....and it's what they gave us in the hospital too. We bought a ton of size 1 (not realizing there were a newborn size) and thank goodness we did! He out grew newborns in about 2-3 weeks!

bdubb - Saturday, 28 June
We really like Pampers sensitive - they have a little yellow line that turns blue when they go - it makes it so much easier than trying to peak through the diaper. Also we like the pampers sensitive wips but don't buy too many our son has very sensitive skin and can't use wipes we have to use wash clothes and a spray bottle so now we have boxes and boxes of wipes we can't use. We had 400 diapers on hand in Size 1 and have to go buy some more this weekend and our son is 6 weeks. Congrats and good luck.

MilMom2Be - Saturday, 28 June
Buy TONS of wipes, but it doesn't matter too much with them, I like huggies wipes because they are attached, like a paper towel kinda, so it is easier to get them out. I have been using Huggies diapers too, but also used Luvs, and Pampers, when it seemed like my daughter was inbetween huggies sizes, they alll fit a little different, and honestly I would buy a pack of each to find out what will suit your baby. I went thru 5 or 6 things of newborn diapers, but have been in size ones for a while now, so I would stock up on those, also depends how big baby is at birth to how long they will be in newborn diapers.. Hope this is what you were looking for!

chute - Saturday, 28 June
pampers new baby. i used the huggies umbilical cord care, and my son peeded and pooped out the side of them, every single one of them. definitally stock up on size 1. they grow out of newborn quickly.

Maddux - Saturday, 28 June
I've tried all of them and I prefer Pampers Swaddlers. I wouldn't get too many newborn diapers though...they only go up to 8 lbs. I think and they aren't in them long at all. I would stock up on size 1 diapers if I were you.

cate - Saturday, 28 June
Get lots and lots of wipes! You'll need them!
As far as the diapers, I honestly prefer the Target brand. They work really well. If you want to do the name brand thing, I prefer Pampers. Also, as your doctor how big he thinks the she'll be. My little girl was born 8 lbs 5 ozs, so she already outgrew newborn diapers. Good luck!!

jenlove - Saturday, 28 June
Hi there! congrats on your pregnancy! We used Huggies for newborn because they have the cutout for the umbilical cord. They leaked all the time and we were really not happy with them. When he reached 10lbs we switched to Pampers 1s and have not had a leak since. If I could do it over I would have switched to Pampers sooner, we had a leak almost every day. But it may be different for girls. I would stock up on wipes, too. You go through them fast. Good luck to you!

Grace - Saturday, 28 June
I like pampers swaddlers until the cord falls off and circumcision heals because they're softer diapers, and I think maybe 1 jumbo pack and 1 small pack of newborns, but after that I like the Huggies newborn because they're more absorbent and have less leaks and a little bigger, so I'm trying to use these up as it is b4 he grows out of them, I bought a regular pack of them and things are doing great. But after the baby heals and everything absorbency and leaks are what you're looking at, especially since they eat and poo and pee more, mine's 3 wks old today but your's may be smaller or bigger. Just to give you an idea of what to expect. But hey don't go open up all the diapers like me because you can always take them back and get a size that fits just in case. congrats and good luck...

gabymom - Friday, 27 June
Hey;

I will buy just one pack of newborn, I did not used all of then since they became to small for my baby after the first week and she was 3 weeks early(7pound 4 oz.). So one pack should be enough. I buy huggies, because pampers are to bulky and square. The only problem with the huggies is that sometimes they leak if you leave them overnight. Hope this help!!! :

bellakimmie - Friday, 27 June
Huggies works best for girls and Pampers for boys. It depends on how much your baby weighs on how many packs of newborn diapers your going to need. Probably only one or two. Hope I helped ya a little. Good luck.
