My name is Christa and I've been married to my husband Albert now for 4.5 years. Together for 6. He's been in the army for 10 years and is an Infantry man assigned to the 101st, 1-506th infantry regiment in Ft.campbell, KY. We've been stationed here for 3 years now and just bought our first house last May. Praying we stay put a little longer so we can enjoy our new home. I was also in the army for a little bit for the first half of our marriage but decided to get out when I became pregnant with our son Garrett. I don't regret that decision one bit. He's the love of my life and I'm so lucky to have spent a year and a half at home with him. I'm now back to work full time doing the exact same thing I did in the army which is working in the army hospital pharmacy as a tech... just now as a federal civilian. Much better in my opinion :) We recently found out that we're expecting #2 (due August 16 2011) ... it's definitely not something we were expecting to be possible this year after my husband deployed for the 4th time to afghanistan this past August (2010). He was supposed to remain deployed for 12 months but God had a different plan for him/us. He was shot 3 times by a sniper on October 2 2010 and his injuries brought him home. He caught 2 shots to the armpit/side chest area and 1 to the back of his leg. Thankfully nothing too serious and he's expected to make a decent recovery. Maybe not 100% but enough to stay in the Army and live a normal life. He suffered alot of nerve damage to his left hand and slowly he's regaining feeling back but it'll take time and maybe another surgery. I'm thankful every single day to have him home safe and am so proud of my man. He's a wonderful husband and a great dad. I spent the months October and November with him at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC and came home with a little souvenire =D I broke the news to him on Christmas (well, christmas eve eve to be exact) and his face was priceless. I've had two previous miscarriages in the past so I'm crossing everything that this one is a keeper. I feel good about it so far but only time will tell. Trying to stay positive and stress-free but that's almost impossible when your an amy wife and a mom. Please keep the soldiers and their families of those serving our country in your everyday prayers.
CURRAHEE "Stands Alone"
Dedicated to my two Angel Babies:
I'm In The Arms of Jesus
Daddy, please don't look so sad, Mama please don't cry~
"Cause I am in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies."
Please, try not to question God, Don't think he is unkind
Don't think He sent me to you, and then He changed his mind.
You see, I am a special child, and I'm needed up above
I'm the special gift you gave Him, the product of your love.
I'll always be there with you and watch the sky at night,
Find the brightest star that's gleaming, That's my halo's brilliant light.
You'll see me in the morning frost, that mists your window pane.
That's me in the summer showers, I'll be dancing in the rain.
When you feel a little breeze, from a gentle wind that blows
That's me, I'll be there, planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing, and your heart feels a little tug,
That's me, I'll be there, giving your heart a hug.
So Daddy, please don't look so sad, Mama don't your cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies.
