My hubby is making me a playlist of my favorite relaxation songs to be played for me during labor (if the docs let me). Some of them are Claire de Lune (classical), some Dave Matthews Band, Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, and others. Im really happy about this now, but hopefully I'll still be in the mood for it then! Who knows! Also, my hubby just found out that in less than 10 days, he has to go TDY to Oklahoma until August 1. I don't know ANYONE here and am not about to stay here for 6 weeks by myself. I want to go back home where my family is. So, I called up the nurses at the hospital and asked if it would be ok if I missed one appointment and just kept a monthly appointment schedule instead of every two weeks for the month of July and they said it would be fine. So I have an appointment on June 24 and I'll schedule another one for July 25. They said they'd give me my records to travel with incase anything happened and I can always go to the emergency room. I'd be back here about 3 weeks before the due date. My sister thinks Im crazy, but I think being alone for 6 weeks would be bad for my sanity! Plus, I can pick up our winter clothes and the back seat to my hubby's Jeep which is back home and when Lucie gets here, we'd actually be able to use the Jeep with her carseat.

We are living in our new apartment now, completely different part of the country and much cooler climate (thank God!) however no air conditioning because of this. Even if its "only 84 degrees out" I still think that calls for AC! Anyways, we went to the new clinic where I'll be seen even after Lucie is born. The hospital is brand new and all new stuff for the maternity side. They say I need to go in every 2 weeks now. Lucie's head has been down since the 19 week ultrasound and Im glad she hasn't flipped! I'll be signing my hubby and I up for all the classes we'll need too! We bought the stroller with the car seat included yesterday. We're waiting for her play pen to get here in the mail and to get her a dresser! Yippie!

We are moving across the country this week! We'll be closer to home and in perfect timing for the arrival of Lucie! I'm not looking forward to starting over with a new midwife, but thats life.

We went in for a second ultrasound today because in the first one they found something calling a hypo amnio band or something like that. Its kind of like when you have a balloon with a pull in it, the balloon wont inflate spherically. That is what this band could do to my amniotic sack. Its a problem if one of Lucie's limbs gets this band wrapped around it because it could cause amputation. We weren't really worried though because we both have felt her moving around a lot and I felt she was healthy! We went in for the ultrasound and the doctor took 2 seconds to look at it and said that there were no limbs involved with the band and the only thing that will happen is when I go into labor, the band will pop. It won't matter though because the amniotic sack is supposed to pop anyways when I go into labor. We feel that this was just a way for us to get to see her again. The ultrasound picture was a lot more clear this time and she looked a little more developed than 3 weeks ago. They said she was scrunched up so she could barely see her gender, but they thought they saw girl parts.

We had our one and only ultrasound today and they said its an 80% chance its A GIRL! She looks like me too! We agree on the name Lucie but we can't agree on a middle name, so if there are any suggestions, please post!! Also, I have posted the ultrasound pictures.

I have been an emotional wreck the past few days. We found out that my hubby is going to be deploying to Iraq in September (about a month after the baby is born). Since I found out, I have been waking up at around 3 am and thinking for hours about what changes we'll be going through. On the other hand, I will be able to spend the first year of our baby's life back home with family, so that will be a positive aspect of this ordeal. We decided to use our tax money to buy 2 DVD video cameras so that when he goes to Iraq, I'll be able to record the baby and he can send videos of himself talking to the baby so that it wont seem like we're too far away from each other. On a more positive note, we get our first ultrasound in 13 days and hopefully we'll be able to find out the sex of the baby! Also, milk and yogurt has been tasting sour on my tongue probably because of hormonal changes. I switched to soy milk this week and no more sour taste!

2nd OB appointment today. The midwife says that my uterus is measuring the size it should be if I was 18 weeks pregnant, not 16. My ultrasound was scheduled for March 26, but I was able to get it bumped up to March 19th instead! I can't wait to see the little one and find out if its a girl or boy!! I was having slight nausea last week, but never ran to the toilet. Thats over now, I've just been a little stressed because I've been worrying about everything to the point that I can't sleep well at night. I worry about my sleep position because my left shoulder and elbow hurt when I lay on that side, I worry about where I work and if its too much for the baby, I worry about every little pain I feel (which the midwife assures me is just round ligament pain). I have gained 5 pounds since my last OB visit 4 weeks ago (I've been the same weight since I was probably 13! Its weird to be out of that weight-frame). My blood pressure was a little high. Went from 119/71 four weeks ago to 134/74 today, but the midwife says its probably because of the stress and because I was rushing to get there on time. I heard the heartbeat again for the second time. It was faint, but I could hear it. She explained that it was faint because she used lotion with the dopplar and because there was more fat or muscle maybe in the way this time. All in all, healthy baby! I can stop worrying!

My due date is expected to be August 14! I heard the baby's heart beat (which was really fast) in the last week of January. We get our one and only ultrasound on March 26th (thank you military health insurance) which will be the last day of the 20th week. All of the blood tests came back normal and healthy! Last week on February 5 I could still button a larger pair of jeans. Two days later, I tried to put on the same pair of jeans and could not button them! Up until last week, it was still a little hard to tell if I was pregnant. Since last week, it seems that my belly has gotten noticably pregnant looking! Its amazing. I thought the change would be too gradual to notice within a couple of days! Also, when I was at work yesterday, I felt what I think was the baby moving five different times for the first time. It felt as if someone was very lightly tapping their fingers aross my lower belly. It lasted for only about a 1/5-2 seconds each time but I just know its the baby! I know it wasnt just gas because this was a different feeling than gas. Very exciting!! My husband and I called family members to let them know! For the past two weeks, I have had a new craving for seafood. In the beginning of the pregnancy, it was chocolate milk and hardboiled eggs (two things that I never have). As for my job, Im working in retail and do a lot of walking and setting displays and unpacking boxes of lighter weight objects. I do get some minor lower back aches and my heels ache after so much walking, but thats about it. Anyone else out there that is in this line of work while pregnant?
