ERRrr.. looks like my little man is being subborn, lol! No effacement, dilating.. my cervix hasn't even began to soften.. hips haven't spread. So with my fiance leaving to go to Iraq next visit we're either going to do a c-section if nothing has progressed by next week, or we are going to induce if i start dilating!!

My first son had the plastibell. It was much easier than my last son who had the traditional method performed.

thank you so very much congrats on your pregnancy hope everything goes well during labor darling!!

Hey girl! First of all, congrats! I bet you are getting so excited!! You're so close! My son was circumsized with the Plastibell, and it was wonderful! It's the easiest thing because you don't have to do a thing to it! No gauze, vaseline, nothing! And then it falls off when it's ready. I highly recommend it!

Good luck! You are almost there!

I think it takes 4 or 5 days for the strep results.... unless my doctor is just slow! lol

With my two boys, that is what we used. It was great. It was less upkeep and better to look at than the traditionsl method. You just leave it alone and within days, reall! days, it falls off in the diaper. No ointment is needed. If you are going to do it...go that way!

Discuss your concerns with the babys Dr. I am sure he can give you a laundry list of reasons why your son shouldn't be exposed to the smoke, dog pee & fleas (outside of the obvious) I am a clean freak and germ phobe that would really bother me too, but you will have to have some happy medium. My FIL told my DH one time when DH was changing a diaper to stop he (FIL) NEVER changed a diaper in his life and neither should my DH, so aside from a nutty MIL my FIL won't do diapers then WHO would be taking care of my little one? A good friend of mine is much older she has 2 new grandkids and rags on me all the time for keeping distance with my in laws (who I really like to call outlaws) but if you do everything at your house there is nothing wrong with that and if she refuses the offer then its her loss right?

Ohhhhhhhhh, lol, I totally misunderstood your comment and it made me really mad, LOL! Well I'm glad you are not being coerced into something. As for induction, I hope you've done your reading about the cons before deciding. If you google "inducing labor" you'll get lots of sites with info. Your choice of course, you just want it to be a well informed one. Whatever the method, Happy Baby delivering to you! take Care.

Also NO new Mom or 1st time MOM should have to let their baby sleep anywhere they don't want for the 1st year-especially since it can interrupt the patterns you are trying to make for your baby at home, maybe you can use that as part of your excuse, invite her to sleep over at your house the 1st year and babys schedule & surroundings stay the same

n2moola - Tuesday, 9 September
I've just always said that I have such terrible seperation anxiety that he can't come over to sleep and they (MIL & FIL) have faught with us on this lucky for me my DH backs me, but it has caused many family dramas. My MIL has early altsiemers (sp?) she leaves pots cooking on the stove and goes shopping, she has vision problems been in 3 accidents in 2 years and wants to drive my kids around ..ummm NO! My MIL also buys EVERYTHING at garage sales and she put up my husbands crib in her spare room for my son (which he never even got in. of course I feel bad, but that thing is NOT safe & doesn't meet todays safety standards and she says so it was good enough for us..well she raised her kids now I am raising mine.

n2moola - Tuesday, 9 September
For what its worth I have major issues with my MIL and she lives 7 minutes from me. She has boundary issues and is not dirty but has mental issues and my son (now 4) has NEVER BEEN to her house without me, he has never spent the night and my parents keep the kids all the time. MIL is very jealous, but just finally got the hint. Now we announce our new pregnancy and she starts in about the new baby staying with her etc etc..let me tell you its a never ending battle once you have kids

ashawee08 - Uhhhh......Nooooooo! Your Dr. cannot decide for you that he is going to induce you when it is against your wishes. YOU hired HIM (or her), it is YOUR body and YOUR baby. Maybe he is a respected physician but sometimes they get a little big in the head and think they can tell you what you are going to do rather than ASK you what You would like to do. If you decide that you want to be induced then ok but this is Not the Dr's call at all. Decide for yourself based on your own research and gut feeling what is best for your baby because Dr's have lots of differing opinions and its your life not theirs. I personally work around Dr's everyday and know several and while some of them are wonderful ppl, they are just ppl and I think ppl put way too much trust in them when they are just humans with differing opinions than the Dr in the next room. You decide for yourself.

SMiller - Sunday, 7 September
Baby Miller Update: Well had my first scare very early this morning about 12am. I had some bleeding and Brandon took me over to the Naval Hospital Emergency room. I had several people say a number of things could have caused it so the best thing to do is wait, and that I could lose the baby- what a way to make me feel good right. I mean I know its possible, but to hear someone say it. And I also have a UTI, but they said some women can't feel it, and they gave me some medicine. But the positive thing is they looked at the baby and the heart beat and it looked good. It really set in to see the baby, it looked like a shrimp. I love this baby so much already. Can't wait till my appointment Tuesday.
