Well my name is Miriam. I am 22 years old. I have been married to my husband Perry for 4 years on July 13th. I have a son (2.5 years old) and a step daughter (11 years old). Their names are Ashtin (my son) and Sara (my step daughter). I moved to Utah 4 years ago and I've loved it. So that's about it.

I have my first doctor's appointment on September 25th, 2007!!! I'm excited to know how far along I am. And I am also really excited to find out what I am having!!!!

Update: September 3rd, 2007

Well, I went to the E.R. last night. I had been bleeding and I was worried (obviously). So my husband took me to the hospital. The E.R. doctor's had an ultrasound done and we found out I am 8 weeks pregnant (as of today). And apparently the bleeding had been cause by the placenta pulling away from the uterus wall. So basically I just need to take it easy until I go to my doctor in the next couple of days for a check up. So I'll post more once I find out. But the baby is ok!! So don't worry.

Update: October 10th, 2007

Well, I went to the E.R. again on October 4th because of bleeding. And this time it happened to be a urinary tract infection. Yes, it's all cleared up now. And now I'm 13 weeks pregnant. In 7 more weeks I should be able to find out what the sex of the baby is. Also, on October 16th I will be going to my second Dr. appointment. I also have a job now I have been working there for about one month. It's not the easiest job in the world, but it pays good so I'm happy.

Update: November 27th, 2007

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY got the the ultrasound done and they did a full ultrasound. We got to see some pretty amazing stuff. Like the u/s tech did a scan of the brain and we got to see it. It was SOOO cool. They also made a video for us. We also got to she her yawn. It was so amazing. The u/s tech got pictures of her hands, feet, profile, ect. I'd upload them but unfortunately my all-in-one printer isn't working.

Update: January 7th, 2008

Well, I went to my dr appointment and everything came back great from the glucose test I had back in December. It actually came back a little low. I am 28 weeks pregnant. I go in for my next doctors appointment January 24th. Also a little over a month ago I was walking to a co-workers car (he was giving me a ride home) when I slipped and fell on the side walk. I jarred my arm. It was pretty sore for awhile. Which brings me to slipping and falling again (ha ha ha). And YES it was on the same arm. It's better now though.

Update: January 19th, 2008

I went to the E.R. today. I was feeling really lightheaded. Also I was having a lot of difficulty breathing. The admitted me to the L&D department to make sure that Deja was ok. And she turned out to be doing perfectly fine. Although the what they were using to monitor her was bugging the heck out of her. So every chance she got she would kick the crap out of them (ha ha ha). I also found out something interesting. Before going into the hospital I had always wondered why once you go into labor you weren't allowed to eat or drink. I know why now: it's because if you do it can cause complications like throwing up and making them have to do an emergency c-section.

I can't seem to get to sleep the last couple of nights my son has been keeping me up and its driving me nuts. Last night I didn't get to sleep until around 4 am because my son was being fussy. I'm planning on having my baby shower sometime between the middle and end of February!!!!! I'm really excited to finally see what my baby looks like. Also I got my baby book today!!! It's really great. The illustrations are done by Anne Geddes (the one that does the babies with the flowers). The baby book allows you to record the first 5 years of life. WOW, huh? Some of the things you can record in here are: babies birth, first visitors, homecoming, baby's family tree, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, first Christmas, ect. Some other cool things you can do in it is record their hand prints and foot prints from when they are born AND when they are 5. It's a really awesome baby book. So anyways I'll keep updating.

Update: January 30th, 2008

I FINALLY went to my doctors appointment on Monday (the 28th). I asked him a couple question. One of which was what I could do about my daughter pressing on my lungs (which makes me really lightheaded) and he said unfortunately there really is nothing I (myself), he or anyone else could do to fix that problem. So pretty much I'm just going to have to deal with it and try pushing her away from my lungs until she's born. I also asked him what my blood type was (it's A+). Also something quite sad happened last night. Around 9 pm last night my sister in law called to tell my husband that their grandma was on her deathbed. So what my husband decided to do was go up and see her before she passed away. He ended up taking his brother, myself and our son with him. And we were able to see her before she passed away. It was quite a sad sight to sad, she was very decrepit. And her faced looked like something out of a really bad horror film. I'm not exactly sure how my husband is taking considering he has only had a VERY few people that he's known die. We ended up leaving 10 minutes before she actually passed away. And my husband has made it very clear that he is going to make it to her funeral also. He doesn't care whether or not work says he can have it off. So that's what has happened in the last couple of days.

Update: February 15th, 2008

I talked to my sister in law a couple days ago and she gave me the idea (after talking to my MIL) about having two baby showers. Since my MIL couldn't come up with a date to have the baby shower and I needed to have one picked out soon so my husbands co-workers could be there, she decided it would be best if there were two baby showers. The reason I needed the date picked out is because a lot of my husbands co-workers have been quitting or getting fired recently. So, the first baby shower is going to be at my place this Friday, February 22nd. And this baby shower is going to be for my friends. I'm not sure when the 2nd baby shower is going to be, but it's going to be at my sister in law's house. So, I'm not worried about that one at all. I'll just wait for the word and I'll send out the invites to my side of the family. I'll make sure to post pictures of both baby showers when they happen.

Update: February 25th, 2008

I went to my doctor appointment today. And I'll be going to my next in two weeks!!!!!! At that appointment I will be having my Group B test. And then after that appointment I will be going to weekly appointments!!!!!!!! I measured myself while I was there and it looks like I am 50 inches around!!! While I was there my doctor took her heartbeat and she was beating 141. Which he said is perfect for right now.

Update: March 5th, 2008

I talked to my mom just a couple minutes ago and she paid for the airplane ticket up here!!!!!!!! She will be arriving here on March 25th!!!!!!!! I'm SO excited to see her. The last time I saw my mom was over a year ago. She will also be meeting my husband and all of my in laws for the first time ever. I can't wait for her to get here and for that matter my daughter now. All I'm hoping for is that my daughter waits until after the 25th of make her appearance. I don't care how long after, just to wait until the 25th. A friend of mine also dropped by on Monday and gave me some of her daughters old clothes and her bassinet. Which will help us out a ton. As of right now the only important things we still need is a stroller and my crib bedding set. So, I'll keep updating the page!!!

Update: March 12th, 2008

I was supposed to go my doctor's appointment on the 10th, but it wasn't able to because five minutes before I got there he went with a patient to the hospital because she went into labor. So, I had to reschedule for this Thursday. And on the way back from my appointment I got on the bus to go home. The bus driver took off too fast and my knee "popped" out of place. Strangely, though my knee is still hurting. Normally, my pain only lasts for an hour or less. Not this long. I just hope that the pain goes away soon, because being pregnant makes it hard enough to get around. But, now that I'm injured it's even more difficult.

Update: March 14th, 2008

I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday. I had my group b test done. Hopefully, the results come back alright. My next visit is on the 31st. I'm hoping that will be my last doctor's appointment before the baby is born!! Or even better that I have had the baby already. I'm really excited about my mom coming, there is only 1 week 4 days before she gets here!!!!! It seems so far away. I'm also really excited about our tax return. We got our taxes done yesterday. We should be getting our return just before the baby's born!!!! Which will help a TON, because we need all the help we can get.

Update: April 1st, 2008

I had my dr. appointment yesterday. I was supposed to find out if I could be induced. The good news is, I am 1 cm dialated. The bad news, my cervix is too thick to induce me. My next dr. appointment is April 7th. I'm hoping I've had the baby by then though.

Today is my due date. And still there is no baby born. I'm really hoping that she will be here SOON!!! I want to meet her. I also want my mom to get to hold her. I'm also having a baby shower this Sunday (the 6th). My husband's co-workers are throwing it for me. I'm excited to be going to it, since I never got a baby shower. My mom, step daughter, husband, son and step dad are going to be there at the baby shower also.

Update: April 7th, 2008

I went to my dr. appointment today. My dr. told me that my cervix is still a mile thick. But he setup another appointment for me this Monday. At this appointment I will be having some tests done to monitor my progress. He also started making calls to see what he can do about having me induced this Monday. I have also been having about 4 minute apart contractions. They have been pretty steady so theres a possibility I maybe having this baby tomorrow. Also after I monitored my first contraction he saw my stomach drop.

Update: April 12th, 2008

My baby's here!!!! She was born April 9th. I had been having contractions since the night before. Then around 1 pm my mucus plug broke. I call my doctor's assistant and she told me I should get to the hospital. So I get to the hospital around 3 pm. They gave me an epidural around 4 pm and three hours later at 7:05 pm Ambience Jade Cardwell was finally here!!! She weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and measured 20 inches long. It took me a total of five minutes to push her out!!!

Update: April 22nd, 2008

My little girl's first dr's appt. is this friday!!! This will be her two week check up. I'm excited to see how much she's progressed since she was born. She had jaundice for about a week and it hurt me alot everyday she went in to be tested at the hospital. She had to be tested four days in a row and to see how much pain she was in was really difficult for me to deal with. Thankfully, Monday night they called me and said that she no longer needed to be tested!!!! Which was a wonderful blessing. So anyway that's all that's happened so far.

My daughter had her dr's. appt. yesterday. She has actually gained a pound and a half since she was born!!! She is growing up so much and I am so proud of her. She is now 8 lbs 9 oz. and we take her to her next dr's. appt. in a month and a half.

My baby girl had her second dr's appt. on June 13th. My son also finished up his immunizations until he goes to school. And she wasnt too happy about it. Her and her brother both got fevers (from the shots). And they cried for hours. It's a good thing their big sister was there. She was able to comfort them some. She also had her first holiday ( Independence Day). Unfortunately, we could really celebrate it because their dad had to work :(. But, I took tons of pictures of her. We also plan on having her blessed this Sunday. Hopefully my husband doesnt have to work.

My daughter is three months old now and she is going to have her next dr.'s appt. in about two weeks. I can't believe how much she has grown up.
