Hi all you moms-to-be! I'm 25 weeks pregnant - have 3 boys (ages 16, 14 & almost 12) and am finally going to have my girl!!! Our daughter is due to be born May 18th and I can't wait to meet her!!! It's been 12 years since I've been pregnant and things are so different this time around that it feels just like the first time!

Hi all. I just got back from a very tramatic 2 day hospital visit. I was at work - started having contractions about every 5 minutes... My boss drove me to an emergency room near my work. By then my contractions were every 2 minutes! They did an internal exam and told me I `m a `fingertip ` dilated and that I needed to be transported to another hospital because this one didn `t have L&D. I was transported by ambulance (lights, sirens and all!!). Ugggh!!! Now I `m on medication to stop contractions and will continue to take this medication until the end of the pregnancy.

Saturday, 16 Feb

Just got back from my 26 week doctor appointment. My doc said he `s taking me off the Breathene (Spelling) at 34 weeks (only 7 weeks away!!!) and then the waiting game will begin. I `m hoping that she `ll wait until her due date or closer atleast.

Wednesday, 5 Mar

Found out that I have Gestational Diabetes Monday night - Ugh!!! Just waiting for Dietician to call me to set up an appointment to learn how to take care of this...

Oh wow, those are def labor signs arent they?! You are close. my stomach does that hardening thing, but without pain. Sometimes I have this urge like I have to either throw up or BM but dont, its just spasming haha. Its so crazy how we cant control our bodies! Good luck in getting there, hopefully you have your baby by tomorrow!

If you dont mind.... could you describe the contractions to me? Did you feel a lot of pain when you went from 0% effacement to 90% in one day?? I have a lot of sharp pains down there, but I dont know if it is just pressure or if in fact, things are moving along. I guess I could wait it out... but I am curious :) I hope your labor speeds up! I am sick of it and it hasn't even been a week! They sent me to L&D 3 times last week, then treated me like I was disrupting them! GRR! I have to take my kitty to get spayed this morning, that's my big outing for the week! LOL

WOW, I might have mine Friday too! We (doc and I) will make the decision on Thurs, holy sht that's tomrw. I am on bedrest since Friday, and if I don't listen I risk having a seizure - due to high bp. I have had my bag packed and in the car for 2 months, I'm obsessed with planning. I get a NST and ultrasound tomorrow too. I am puffy though today which is a sign that the high bp could be damaging my organs. I'm gonna go shower and see if that helps. Good luck getting all that done, all that activity might send you into labor!!!!!!

I swear there's just no hope, it will never end, this baby will come out when it's a teenager (with an attitude). We have alot in common btw, live in pa, have gest diabetes, have a 12 yr old, and then pregnant after all these years. Maybe it's the water in PA?

I lost my internet connection before - just as I was having fun. (had a 2 hour nap in the meantime though - nice!! I can see that you went to bed - no wonder, it must have been the middle of the night in the US.

The picture mommyballs left of the floating rootbeer looks goooood...now I want one - and good idea about getting it on the other side of security :-) I guess my prego brain couldnt think that far..haha

So depressed. I called the hospital to make sure everything was a go for tomorrow night. They told me I may have to wait untill Thursday because if they are as busy then as they are now, they won't have room. Crying!!!

well then in that case im guessing hes gonna want me in the night before becuz he said i am barely 2cm and still only 50% effaced BUT my cervix is still kinda lengthy so as of right now i would have a very hard labor if it were to be induced. So i asked about that gel and he said yes thats wat he would use..i was induced with my last child and it was the worst experience ever!! im actually having second thoughts now whether i should just wait and go natuarally and risk having a huge baby that i will end up with a c section or go ahead and risk the hard labor...idk wat ima do..i guess it would be best for me just to see wat i am at my next appt and let him sweep my membranes and go from there...thanks!!

yes exactly what Nora said. The sweep will make your cervix more receptive to the pitocin. Some women have been known to have been given pitocin and things still really don't move along so he wants you to be as "ripe" as possible. I have heard some people say the sweep hurts but then others say it really doesn't. In the end you won't even be thinking about all that!!! Good Luck!!!

A sweep will probably make your cervix softer and more receptive to induction drugs. The sweep alone may bring on labor. I had one last week hoping for labor but nothing. I'll have another on Wed. Good Luck with everything. I'll be over soon!

THEY NEVER TOLD ME..BT MY DOCTOR MADE A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT BC MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS 141/75..SO HE JUST WANT ME TO DO THE 24HOUR..BT THEY DID THE BLOOD TEST FOR PROTEIN AND THERE WAS NONE....I JUST DRUNK ALOT OF WATER AND CRANBERRY JUICE

that's scary. why do they try to scare us????? this nurse today was like, if your blood pressure is this high when you go into L&D, they're going to try and do a c-section on you, and all this stuff. how the hell does her saying that to me help???? it only freaked me out more. ugh.

I'm just so annoyed w/ the whole thing that I want to cry. If my blood pressures are high, tomorrow afternoon. If they're fine, then on Friday. However, this little blood pressure machine that we bought is pretty crappy even though it was expensive. So it'll either read me as being super high or super low and I just can't rely on it. And as crazy as it sounds, I'd still get nervous even going to CVS to take it, because there are tons of people around. And my BP at the doctor is obviously not reliable because I always get nervous there too. I really don't know what to do.

And i swear, I can "sleep" all night and still be exhausted the next day and nap for like three or four hours straight.

Good luck w/ your urine. I'm sure you'll be fine--and if not, what can you do? Why are you on no salt? That sucks. Can you still have oreos???? lol...
