Hi all you moms-to-be! I'm 25 weeks pregnant - have 3 boys (ages 16, 14 & almost 12) and am finally going to have my girl!!! Our daughter is due to be born May 18th and I can't wait to meet her!!! It's been 12 years since I've been pregnant and things are so different this time around that it feels just like the first time!

Congratulations to all of you!

Hi all. I just got back from a very tramatic 2 day hospital visit. I was at work - started having contractions about every 5 minutes... My boss drove me to an emergency room near my work. By then my contractions were every 2 minutes! They did an internal exam and told me I `m a `fingertip ` dilated and that I needed to be transported to another hospital because this one didn `t have L&D. I was transported by ambulance (lights, sirens and all!!). Ugggh!!! Now I `m on medication to stop contractions and will continue to take this medication until the end of the pregnancy.

Saturday, 16 Feb
Just got back from my 26 week doctor appointment. My doc said he `s taking me off the Breathene (Spelling) at 34 weeks (only 7 weeks away!!!) and then the waiting game will begin. I `m hoping that she `ll wait until her due date or closer atleast.

Wednesday, 5 Mar
Found out that I have Gestational Diabetes Monday night - Ugh!!! Just waiting for Dietician to call me to set up an appointment to learn how to take care of this...

How`s my pregnancy doing?

Simplyme - Monday, 9 June
Hi there hun...I can understand how you feel about your mil....you just need to put her straight my mil has been pushing the fact that she hardly sees my angel but she sees her more then my own mother does and my mil wants to take her for walks and away from me and im so not ready..i know sometimes i say im tired and need a break but i know that if i did let her take isabella i would miss her the moment she left me..so its a no until i feel ready to let her go besides walking where i work is not safe. I know you worried about feeling like an idiot and a bad person infront of you in laws but rather that then let your mil get away with the fact that you wont stand up to her. Tell her that you are not ready to give her up for the day or give her a bottle and she must just respect that.

christelle - Monday, 9 June
Your MIL does NOT have the right to kidnap your baby for a day and you are not the bad guy for pointing that out to her. She probably didn't ask cause she knows you would say no. She can spend her vacation time with you as a family, but that was extremely rude, insensitive, disrespectful and shocking of her to even suggest what she did, especially in front of a crowd. Grandparents don't have any rights, remember that! I hope your husband will be the one to step in and straighten her out or that she was just saying that and won' t actually try to act on it. Good luck!

NumberFive - Monday, 9 June
i love that na,me!ocngrats so not that early just right! aww i am so jealous, i go get a sweep on hurs morn, I had both my last 2 within 12 hour after one done, so I am hoping it works this time!

tls080 - Monday, 9 June
sorry about your mils ambush. Lie tell her the pump isn't working yet or that it is too early for the baby to be using bottles. Breastfeeding is hard enough without introducing obsticles like nipple confusion. A bottle flows quicker than the breast and it sometimes causes the baby to refuse the breast. They basically get lazy. My babies were like several months old before they went with my own mother. Good Luck

cherbear - Monday, 9 June
You're not being controlling at all... You could wait if you want to-- see if she brings it up again... At that point, I'd definitely let her know that it isn't going to happen. :o)

catsa79 - Monday, 9 June

omg u poor thing FUCK HER< who the hell does she think she is u have to be firm and strong now, ur not tha bad guy u are teh responsible loving caring mother, i so feel so for ya, that is so rude of her and havign the baby alone is one thing but to think that ur gonna pump for her, yah fucking irght, sry i hate mother in laws and when i read that I was fuming, or get hubby to tell her, no we dont want her haiving a bottle were not pumping we will breat feed and when we do give her a bottle it will be me, ur so nice i would have laughed at her, just avoid her now, I did that with ex's mom did not even answer door, and thats alot to ask pump so i can bottle feed, omfg,,,,,,and the baby is 4 wks old,m wow shes brave to say that

mysweetbaby0229 - Monday, 9 June
i had the same problem w/ my MIL but i stood up for what was best for my child. now we get along alot better. Just do what is right for ur family she will get over it!

shortstuff - Monday, 9 June
I would be straight up with her. If you let her run over you now you will only be starting a bad habit. She is a grown woman and a mother as well she should respect and understand your decision to do what ever you feel is in the best interest of you and your child. I would say tough if she didn't like my decision..it's my child.

Jo-Mama - Monday, 9 June
Tell your MIL that you've been advised to not bottle feed your baby because she will develop nipple confusion. Or tell her that you've been unable to pump enough. Yeah, it's lying, but then you don't have to have the confrontation. Besides, the nipple confusion thing is partly true - though I think that it's only for the first 3 weeks. But she probably doesn't know that.

polingn - Monday, 9 June
I'd be outraged seriously what the hell. I just had my baby and I do pump cuz my milk isnt all the way in and I was concerned bout how much he was getting. Well afterwards my mom took the bottle and fed him I was like wtf. He is only 4 days old and I have been trying so frickin hard to get him to latch on and then you come and take credit for the 40 mins it took me to pump an oz of formula. I wanted to bawl because its so hard and I feel so worthless when I cant get him to nurse and he cries. Grrr But I feel your pain and just tell her No your not ready. Who cares how you look that is your baby and screw everyone else is how I see it. They can save their babysitting days until your ready.

jujubee - Monday, 9 June
I am sorry to hear about your mil. I dont think youŽll look like the bad guy. her comment is so out of place, anyone can see that. YouŽre the mother. YOur baby is doing what you decide. Period!

Christy33 - Monday, 9 June
Thank you very much! I really want it to work out this time! Wish me luck and congrats on your sweet baby!

HillaryB - Sunday, 8 June
hi,just reading your comments about your MIL,and I'm with you! My baby isn't going anywhere until I'm ready. Good luck and congrats

Christy33 - Sunday, 8 June
Sorry to hear about your MIL. I was reading that you breast feed exclusively! I am having some trouble, my son was born 4 days ago, and he sleeps A LOT! My breasts are starting to get engorged. Is it better to pump while he is sleeping so that to much time does not elapse? Will that help to keep the supply up and the swelling down?

Milmom2be - Sunday, 8 June
Your mil is over-stepping her bounds! mindieswan has a wonderful blog, and I think you should check it out, it is titled dear non-pregnant person I think! Also, you made my day, lol, my in-laws live in the states, my parents too, but we live in England for our jobs, so we don't really have that problem, sometimes I get down about it, but you made me really appreciate it. Tho we did have a serious talk to with them when they said they wanted to fly out for the birth. I tried to be very polite about it, but told them they wouldn't be in the birthing room, and they weren't going to interfer with my hubby and I bonding with the baby. Lol, no one came after that!

cherbear - Sunday, 8 June
Your MIL needs to get a grip! She raised her child/ children. It's your turn now to raise yours. She WILL respect your wishes--not the other way around. I'd have your fiance tell her that it's not happening-- that way she doesn't try to add a guilt trip about her taking off work for that reason. Good luck!

Mizzy - Sunday, 8 June
you are so right to feel that way about your MIL.also as you probably know your baby is real young and may have nipple confusion..

jenim24 - Thursday, 5 June
As soon as my son came out and I heard him cry again I forgot the pain and when the doc said, honey I can't tie your tubes I said...oh that's a sign.... LOL

jenim24 - Thursday, 5 June
All the things we had in common and still, I had my baby 1 day after you, and my son was 6lbs 8oz, 20 inches... please tell me you don't plan on having anymore.... so we have that in common... I couldn't get my tubes tied, and can't...ever! grrrreat

grapefruitjuice - Thursday, 5 June
thanks so much! it helps to know im not the only one! my milk has come in great, and when he was sleeping like that, i pumped just cos engorgement really hurts!!!
