4 December 2007

I'm loving the end of my second trimester - I feel very happy and relaxed and not too much fazes me at the moment! I'm also so proud of my belly (first time in my life!). Just hope the heartburn does not return!

7 January 2008

Heartburn gone - woohoo! Very sore ribs though, think bub has got his/her leg behind my rib cage - little one is still breach, but will hopefully do a big turn for me soon.

Otherwise all good - getting bigger by the day, even though have been told baby is a little small and have to go for a scan today to make sure all okay - no harm, plus then I can see my little one again.

11 January

Baby a little smaller than average, but all good.

Ribs feeling better now - so absolutely no complaints at all - can't wait to get back swimming though - have eaten way too much over the Christmas and don't have much energy of late, think I'll feel better if I do some excercise again - also back to my blooming belly (pregnancy excercise) class this week. Will either have more energy by end of the week or just collapse in a heap!

15 January

Was told by one of the midwifes at the hospital that there's a group that get together on Monday mornings ("my birth, my baby") - It's a bit of a drive, but glad I went yesterday - learnt so much and confirmed a lot of what I'd researched about birth - very interesting in deed. Nice to know too what my rights are at the hospital and that I can wait for the cord to drain before clamping/cutting same - which I really feel strongly about.

Best of all, met a midwife/birth educator who gives birth education classes for the hospital I'm attending. I was advised that they could only fit me into a one-day birth education class (ante-natal class), which I was pretty upset about (and it's only 4 weeks before I'm due ). I requested (back in September) that I preferred the five week course - one night a week. I was told that this was the norm, as the one day course was only for those who did not have time to attend the other classes or were doing a refresher. To cut long story short, they would not change this and yesterday this midwife/health educator, Rachael, said I could join her classes, so start on Thursday night - in Noosa, a bit of a drive, but will be so worth it! So feeling very relaxed and happy at the moment - and heaps of energy - back swimming again and loving it.

31 January

Don't know where that energy's gone! Feel totally poop at the moment - lol! Been a bit sick last couple of days, feel like I'm going through morning sickness again, not as bad though, but have been sick on and off - if still like this in a few days will go to doctor.

We went to our 'preparation for parenting' course last night. Was very informative and tonight is week 4 of our birth education classes - unfortunately it finishes next week - we're both thouroughly enjoying the classes and Karl, in particular, is learning heaps, which is all good.

Oh dear feel sick again, must go ....

Feb 08

I was low on iron, which would explain why I was feeling so tired. Got some iron vitamins and feel much more energised - back to my ol' self.

Brian and Itziar came to visit (from Ireland) - was nice having them over.

Still swimming most days and going to aqua arobics and our get-togethers on Mondays (Sunshine Coast Babs) are so informative and enjoyable.

We finally sold the house in Ireland and have put a deposit down on a house here on the Sunshine Coast (Kawana Forest) - it is lovely and can't wait to move in. There are lovely walks throught the forest I can go for walks with our bub.

3 March

We are getting the keys to our new home on Wednesday, can't wait - just want to get the nursery all done up for our little bub - just really hoping that he/she does not pop out early! Gosh, I cannot believe it is already March ! Where has the time gone? Only got 2 weeks to go before our due date !!!

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

mmmm I have no doubt about the fact that things should occur naturally and im all for that. However, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter whos well being i have to think of while im at the hospital delivering my new baby. We are new to bismarck and dont know anyone and so ive had to fly my mother in law in 1500 miles away to be with her so we can go have the baby. My due date is initially march 13th and im going to wait it out til my due date and if i exceed that ill go with the induction, i was induced with my first child so my husband wouldnt miss her birth before being sent to Iraq.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's not like we all aren't uncomfortable and ready for these babies to come. I'm miserable but I know she will come when she is ready. I can't believe how many people on this site talk about being induced. The ones that want to be induced just because they don't want to wait should only feel so lucky that they don't have any real complications. My friend had to be induced because she was getting signs of preclampsia. I would rather wait and give birth naturally than to go what she went through and be induced. I don't really post much anymore because I don't have anything to contribute. :) Best of luck to you!

Hi Traci. Thanks for your comment - it's nice to know I'm not alone! I've gotten migraines where my vision goes funny for a few years now. Usually once my eyes start going funny I can take some advil and nip the pain in the bud - but not now that we can't take advil! It wasn't until last April that I got the disorienting, confusion, slurred speech migraines. So far I've had one of those three time. It's just so scary. I can't help thinking what if I'm at the grocery store with my baby? Or driving, or on a day trip somewhere? Ah well, at least by then I can get on some better medication. I also find that an icepack on my neck and one on my forehead helps. I hope that's the only one you get! They're defintitely no fun!

Also--are you still breech? I was at my last appointment and I'll find out next week if he's turned. Did they tell you when yours has to turn by, if not done so already?

hhall - Tuesday, 15 Jan
Thanks for the sympathy on hubby being laid off. On top of that, i tore a ligament in my foot this weekend and I HAVE to work--fat and pregnant w/ a sore foot to pay bills. Ah...it just gets better and better!

Thank you so much for the positive reply. I guess I'm not too worried, it's just never fun to be told something isn't normal, I'm sure you understand. I'm glad everything turned out alright for you and I wish you an easy end of your pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Mine is still breech. Did the dr give you a time frame in which he has to turn by? I am not going to attempt to make him turn--he'll do what he'll do.

pari - Wednesday, 9 Jan
Don't worry. There is still time for the baby to turn around. I would wait until 32 weeks. Takecare

mommaj - Wednesday, 9 Jan
i am not sure if anything works...but my dr said not to worry till 36 weeks cuz it is often for them to turn up until then.:)

mommaj - Wednesday, 9 Jan
thanks...i hope so. i am sure all is fine with your lil one too, it is just our nature to be nervous about everything in pregnancy. how is your going?
