I `m 22 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Things have been going good. We just moved into our new place and am so excited not to have that stress anymore. I `ve been feeling the baby move more consistently now. Also, my belly is really growing. Getting dressed every morning has become quite the challenge! I actually outgrew one of my maternity pants! Another thing that `s going on is my constant `charlie horses ` in the night. I wake up with such sore calves. ooowww! I thought it was from walking up and down the stairs, but it seems I `m not the only pregnant one experiencing this. TIme to start eating more bananas! I have my next dr appt in a week.

I've been feeling the baby move really low lately. I've also have been having to go to the bathroom a lot more often than usual. I described all of this to my doctor last night and after a sonogram where everything looked normal, he did an internal on me. He then discovered that my cervix has softened. This isn't supposed to happen until the last month. I have to go for an in depth sonogram on Thursday to check the length of my cervical canal. If that begins to shorten, then I can actually start to dialate! So it looks like I'll be doing a lot of laying around for the next three months. Hopefully I won't have to go on bed rest.

Okay... I just got back from my sonogram and everything is looking pretty good. My cervix may be soft, but no shortening, funneling, or dialating. It was so nice to see the little baby move as I felt the kick. The baby is head down facing out. Also, the sonogram technician knows if the baby is a boy or a girl... it's so weird for someone else to know and not me!! Now I am super excited to meet the little guy or girl. Can't wait!!!

Today is the first day of my third, and last, trimester. The second trimester flew by! As the birth of my little baby gets closer and closer, I am more and more excited and, well, a little nervous. I have been feeling pretty good and really happy with the way things are turning out as far as my belly and body in general. As of yet, I have no stretch marks (I had one false alarm earlier on). I'm gaining weight at a good pace... at least i think so. A couple of annoying pregnancy things: I've been feeling extremely tired lately (but am able to rest during lunch at a good friend's house near work - thanks Irene!). Things as simple as putting my socks and shoes on has become a whole new challenge. I'm comfortably wearing my (Janna's) maternity clothes. Thank God for big sisters!!! Although, I do sneak some prepregnancy clothes in there as well.

Okay, I'm halfway through my 32nd week. Things have been great. I've been tired, but really happy and excited about getting closer to meeting my baby. It's so great to know that the baby is in position and ready. He/she is very low and is currently working on separating my pubic and lower back bones. I've been having a lot of back pains which leaves me on my hands and knees trying to relieve the pain. We're almost finished with our birthing classes and Santi and I are becoming more and more convinced that we want to try a natural birth - yipes! I am looking forward to the whole experience, but get a little nervous every once in a while. I'm happy to be able to feel the baby move all the time and to feel the baby having the hiccups around twice a day. I love feeling the little jolt every few seconds. Most of the kids at school have felt the baby move or have the hiccups. School is out in a two weeks and I look forward to the rest I'll get. I can't believe it's only 7 and half weeks to go!!

Today, during 100 degree heat, instead of going home, as pregnant people were ordered to, I stayed for what I thought was my friend's bridal shower. As it turns out it was a combo shower for us both. It was very nice and the whole time I was opening presents, I was choked up thinking 'oh my god, i'm having a baby!' It was kind of a surreal moment being at my own baby shower... I've imagined it many times in my head. The kids at school are getting cuter: steven and lizandro want to know if it will hurt when it comes out, katie wants to know if i'll have milk coming out of my nipples, evan wanted to let me know that they'll be able to tell whether it's a boy or a girl because it will have a penis, and charlie wanted to share a story about a neighbor of his who pushed a baby out of her foot. I love listening to them and will miss them incredibly when I don't see them all next year.

Okay, I'm 33 and 1/2 weeks pregnant.. I just had to post my latest pregnancy dream. I dreamt that I could feel the baby inside my belly, but it felt like a cube. i could feel corners. Santi was at work and I was with my mom and my sister. I went into labor so they took me to the hospital. Minutes later, I gave birth to a Rubix Cube. The doctor cracked it open and inside was the most beautiful baby girl, with pigtails. Because Santi wasn't there, I kept saying to her, "do you want to meet your daddy?" Everytime I said the word 'daddy', she smiled so big and pretty. She had Santi's smile and eyes exactly. She was so gorgeous. A few mintues later, Santi walked into the room and she broke into the biggest smile possible for a baby when she recognized that he was her daddy. It was such a beautiful dream... aside for the part of giving birth to a rubix cube.

Today I am 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant. On Friday night, I had my bloody show and on Saturday I lost my mucus plug. I was pretty sure that these were all good signs that I may have my baby on my dad's birthday (yesterday). Obviously that did not happen, so now I am just waiting. Santi went back to work today and now I have all day to think about it all. I wasn't feeling too impatient to have the baby until the signs started on Friday night. Last night, I woke up with two very strong contractions and couldn't get back to sleep. I'm just waiting for something... I'm going to try my best to rest and relax with the time I have left before the baby.

Today I am 39 weeks and 1 day. Tuesday - I was having bad cramps all day, I called the dr. He wanted me to go in for an exam. Turns out I was 70% effaced, but no dialation. He wanted us to keep the appt for Wednesday. So yesterday, Wednesday, we went in and had made no more progress. He did find that my fluids were getting low and that my placenta was already decaying. He also said that the baby wasn't doing its 'pretend' breathing, which made him think that the baby may not be very comfortable anymore. However, the baby was moving, so that is one sign that the baby is alright. Anyway, he wanted me to come in again today for an exam and then we would start making plans to induce. The appointment is in 4 hours and I'm a little nervous, but super excited to get this whole process started. HERE WE GO!!!
This picture is too funny...I have a whole box of positive pregnancy test and thought i was probably the only one.
Sure does!!! You look great though!!!!
