Emma Catherine Colman

We had a beautiful baby girl on March 6th at 12:07pm!! She's 7lbs, 4oz, 20 inches. I pushed out this gorgeous creature in only 17 minutes!! Birth story to follow soon....!

We're a married, transgendered couple from Massachusetts. We conceived through IUI donor insemination in June '07 and are expecting our first baby in early spring of next year!! We're hoping to chat with other friendly, open-minded individuals to share our baby experiences.

Our latest ultrasound on 10/5/07, FULL FETAL PROFILE. We were told a 70% chance that it's a GIRL!!!

She is 18 weeks and 1 day old!! All organs were checked and measured. No abnormalities were found!! She's a healthy little girl!!

sucking her thumb!

her hand blocking her nose on this one!

Right after the first two pictures above, she took her thumb out of her mouth and YAWNED!! Everyone in the ultrasound room said "AWWWWW!"

A great profile!

This one is really interesting but a little sad. The ultrasound transducer is held firmly on my tummy enough so that you can see the baby being squished a bit (her face is looking at you and the bent portion of her arm is next to her jaw like she's resting on her hand). Amazing how much a little pressure on your tummy affects the baby!

Ultrasound on 8/24/07 (below), testing for NT.
RESULTS: 1.2mm (normal range: 0 - 2.5mm). Gestational Age: 12 weeks & 3 days!!

July 28, 2007: Only two weeks after our very first ultrasound! Now we can see arms and legs!! The pic on the left, the baby is facing you and the pic on the right the arm is bent covering the side of the face. The hole at the top of the head is the brain forming!! The heart is easier to see beating during the live ultrasound.

July 28, 2007: I was shocked to see what looked like the baby waving to us!! The little foot sticking out and everything!! So precious!!

July 14, 2007: Our very first ultrasound pics!!! The baby is curled around the yolk sac and there is a little pulse in the middle of that tiny figure...THE HEART!! I bought a bunch of books (with good color pictures) today for the best look I could get of our little one :-)

she was born 7:54 AM. they started the cut at at like 77:50 i think and she was out, of course it took longer after that when they had to stitch me back up and stuff. they wanted to do it early since i was a gestational diabetic.

Hi There! Thanks so much for your input and advice. I don't think the formula you are talking about is available here is South Africa. The Prilosec should be - I'll go find out. I've had my little one on Soya formula - "Isomil" but then he had cramps ten times worse than before. At the moment he's on a formula names "Novalac AC" which stands for Anti-colic. I must say that it is working the best out off all of the formulas I've tried. I've had him to the Pead, but she just said I should be patient. You see, it's mostly wind that's causing his cramps. I've tried the Gripe water (didn't help a bit). The only thing that actually helps, is something called "Bennets Colic mixture" - don't know if you're familiar with it. The only problem, is that it contains alot of alcahol (like 5% per 10ml) I've tried to take him off it and then we're just back to square 1. It's got so many side effects and that totally freaks me out. Any way - I guess I should just be a bit patient and wait another month or so.... Good luck to you and your two girls!!
