Aaden

Raymundo

He was born on April 3 and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and 20 in long. Birth story is up under children tab.

1 week old-Aaden is such a sweet little baby and I am so in love with him. He always wants to eat when he is awake even if has only been an hour since his last feeding, and my nipples are so sore and blistered i'm not so sure he is latching on correctly, but he finally let me sleep almost through the whole night so this is the first day I am not completely sleep deprived.

3 weeks old- Aaden is growing fast, he weighs more than 9 pounds already. He holds his head up real well, and smiled at me for the first time when he saw me coming to pick him up. Aaden still wakes up every 2 hours to eat at night and he won't stay asleep in his bassinet so I have to sleep in the rocking chair with him in my arms. He is also a pretty gassy baby and cries alot after feedings it is difficult but all worth it for him!

Cute Face!

Aaden 2 weeks

I am 26 years old and have been married for 6 years, Ray and I met when I was 17 and still living at my moms house and he was 25 and living next door as a bachelor. Ray is from Guatemala and so he is a very family oriented, down-to-earth kind of guy and a great father. It is always fun to see him teach the kids spanish and his native language kackchiquel. I am a full-time stay at home mom, and I love it but I also get so lonely with no adults to talk to all day.

me pregnant, and my husband and son

Thank you! It has it's challenges but it is a blessing. I have an 11 month old too so it's like having triplets.

I have a fusser too, like you my other two babies were clam and happy all the time. I also think sometimes he's making up for the calmness of the other two.

I've talked to the doctor about it and he said some babies fuss more even when nothings wrong. I've learned to live with it but my husband still gets so upset about his constant fussing and crying. I know he will be a completely different baby by three months, "at least thats what I keep telling myself".
I adore Gavin to death and just hope he's happy all I can do is cuddle him and console him and one day I'll get a smile from him and I'll know everythings going to be OK!

The same thing happened to me when my baby was a month old. They go through growth spurts which requires them to eat more. If you don't have enough breastmilk to satisfy him, he will be very fussy and his amount of dirty diapers will go down. We had a nurse come over and weigh him and he lost weight from when he was last weighed two weeks prior. Once I gave him some formul, you could hear it go into every nook and cranny in his little tummy. I felt so bad that I was basicaly starving him! Ever since he has been the happiest baby, cooing and smiling and sleeping a little more. You might want to try it. I was against anything but breastfeeding but once I realized he needed more food, I quickly got over that preconceived notion!! I am still breafeeding him like three times a day but him primary source of food is formula. Hope this helps and he feels better soon!

We are home from the hospital. What a ordeal. Very very scary! She is doing much better. She could not be released until she could eat again, be completely off oxygen and not have to have the vacuum cleaning out the mucus from her nose. SO we have to use the bulb to squeeze out her nose, breastfeed as much as she wants, and keep a eye on her breathing to be sure she is not struggling. Its more like a terrible cold now with a cough and congestion. I feel like I can handle things now though. I will be so happy to sleep in a bed after 4 days in a hospital. I am going to sleep as well which a foriegn concept at the moment. Thanks for the concern.

You are so not overreacting. I hate it too. When I have her in the sling, no one touches her. It's like a baby shield.

girl, i am trying to psych myself up to nurse the right side right now. ha ha ha... My son does not sleep at night, but sleeps all day. he nurses about every two hours at night. i am sooo tired, but feeling better with each day. today was nice because i did not have to do the morning duties with the kids, but tomorrow is back to running everyone to chool. I was thinking why am I so busy and tired. I realized that I did not have these kids that have school and activities. Baseball and volleyball is our life right now. VB is morning and evening along with weekend tournaments.

hey baby4, what's up? I am exhausted as normal as it is at this time. I am also soooo sore from breastfeeding. this is the greediest baby of my three. i am praying for my tougher skin to kick in as the nipples really are the last of my pain now. I know I am latching him on correctly, but he sucks like he is starving. ha ha ha.... how is it going with your baby? aaden rhymes with my hayden. ha ha ha

how exciting that we gave birth on the same day! I really thought I would have given birth on April 2nd, but he took his sweet time to come. I see you have me beat by one child. congrats on the birth of your baby. my hubby and I have known eachother since we were 15 years old.

oh good, i'm glad it's getting better for you both. it STINKS when your nipples hurt, ugh! your children are beautiful! I am so looking forward to my little one being able to sit up and start crawling, but i'll bet i'm sad when he does, lol!

hey, saw your message about your baby wanting to nurse all the time. I know it's painful, but the baby is building up your supply. don't doubt your supply right now, just trust your body and your baby. as far as the blisters and soreness, do you have access to a lactation consultant or a midwife? it may be that yor positioning or latch is not correct and that's why it hurts. hang in there -- you're doing great! and congratulations on your baby!!
