Autumn at 6 days old!! Autumn's Birth Story
I
convinced my midwife to induce me on my due date, because I had
gestational diabetes. So on Monday, Dec. 10th, 2007, at 7:30am, I went
to the hospital. They used gel to induce me, so I got that about
8:30am, and then I walked around for about 4 hours straight. At about
1:05, my midwife checked me to see if I had progressed, and I was now 4
1/2 cm dilated, so she decided to break my water and admit me. My
contractions came really hard at that point... two minutes apart. I
decided to see how long I could go before pain medication. But around
4:15, I couldn't take anymore, and asked for an epidural, which by the
way hurt like hell. But it was so worth it, I was in lala land after
it. At about 6pm, I was only 6 cms dilated, so they decided to give me
pitocin, which I didn't notice any painful effects, thanks to the
epidural. But her heart rated started to slow, so they gave me oxygen,
which helped. Then about 7:30 my midwife came in and checked me, and I
was 10cms, so she said it was time to push. Around 8pm, they called in
a different doc to do an episiotimy, but I was determined not to have
one, so I pushed like crazy. And I had Autumn at 8:11pm. It didn't feel
like 40 minutes of pushing, it seriously felt like 10 minutes of
pushing. I found out later, they were talking about doing a c-section
since about 6pm, because they were worried about my little angel, but
she is a fighter!! Overall I had a great labor and delivery. I was so
worried she would be a large baby because of the gestational diabetes,
but she only weighed 6lbs, 15oz, and measured 19 3/4inches. I am so
happy!! I love her more than words can describe!
I love being a mom!!!!!
Autumn at 26 weeks!! And yes that is her foot touching her forehead! She is going to be our little ballerina!

You guys want to see stretch marks.... take a look at mine (as of 11/28/07). And I have used so many types of lotion and nothing helps... My mom says it is hereditary. It all depends on how your skin stretches.
And this is only my stomach, you should see my hips, thighs, and above my breasts! But the ones on my stomach hurt so bad!! I even have them farther down and deeper in my skin!! I keep telling everyone that my little angel is worth every one of them!
So count your blessings if you only have a few!!
P.S. They didn't start showing up til after 7 months!
Walking with Daddy
My little newborn feet,
With ten sweet tiny toes.
Daddy loves to hold them,
Imagining how they'll grow.
He'll watch these tiny feet
Soon find their way around
Holding on, letting go,
Taking steps and falling down.
Daddy will help me learn,
Independence from his hand.
He will teach my little feet,
They too can walk and stand.
I'll grow to walk in Daddy's shoes,
I'll feel so big like him.
I will find it silly too,
To watch my Daddy grin.
One day I'll be much bigger,
And Daddy and I will walk.
Spending time together,
Our time to share and talk.
For now my little feet,
Will keep up the best they can.
I love to walk with Daddy,
And hold my Daddy's hand.
