MAYSON MICHAEL BLAKE
My son Mayson was born on April 19th 2008 at 8:04pm. It was a saturday evening and I finally delivered him 48 hours after my water broke and 9 1/2 hours after I was induced. Both boyfrind and my mother were in the room when Mayson was born and it was the most amazing experience of my life! Mayson is currently 15 weeks old and thriving well. I am exculsively breastfeeding and am blessed that I have not had to supplement with anything. I plan on introducing Mayson to eating cereal off the spoon now that he is 4 months old. I know he'll do well with it because he just loves eating! LOL. I'll add more updates later on.

Thursday, 28 August Thanks for the reply. I did feed Ian first, followed by his bottle. He did great. In fact, I'm about to post a pic of his first bite! Your little Mayson is adorable and I love how you spell his name. chelle84 -
Thursday, 21 August my schedule- ha! i nurse when he cries lol but since i've been back to work it's been kinda hard to stay on a schedule. I try to feed when he does his hungry cry. We are going to try him on a schedule when he turns 4 months which is on the 30th of Aug. and start him on cereal. I can't wait- so your son is already eat fruits? How so? my baby's teeth hasn't come through yet- but i think he is teething. i didn't know you can start them on that so early. it's exciting isn't it : chelle84 -

Tuesday, 12 August Hi, your little boy is beautiful and congrats on the successful breastfeeding so far! I also started my Clem on cereal at 4 months. If I hadn't, I'd have been breastfeeding every two hours, constantly. He was hungry! And my milk supply has always been just adequate, not huge. We're both still enjoying the breastfeeding at 10 months though which is great. I'm sure you'll get there no problems if you are keen to. Now I nurse him about 4-6 times a day. A typical day would be nurse when he wakes, an hour later porridge for brekky, then one or two mid-morning breastfeeds, veggies for lunch, one or two mid-afternoon breastfeeds, mashed banana with yoghurt and cereal for tea, and a final breastfeed before bed at around 7pm. He went through a stage of refusing solids for about 3 weeks recently when he had two colds in a row, so we replaced meals with bottles of formula. (Thank heavens for that or he would have faded away.) I work 2 days a week and can't pump as much as he wants from the bottle so he gets a bit of formula then, too. I'm keen to keep breastfeeding him through the rest of winter (here in Australia) for the immunity benefits. So I'll probably make it to 12 months. Good luck and keep up the great work with your beautiful boy! :) amandaradtech -

Thursday, 7 August Thanks for the tip. I wish he would let us still swaddling him but only a few months after he was born we had to stop. He likes to move his arms and legs all the time and didn't like them being stuck. ~NyMom -
Wednesday, 6 August wow that is great he is showing interest in you meals! My little ones just stares like "what the heck is this stuff" lol.. I tried offering her rice cereal the other day and she was screaming her head off..she just was not ready I will try again when she turns 4 months in a few days.. he is going to love the applesauce and other ranges of food.. I am looking forward to that too.. After she has gotten the rice cereal down pack I will try the oatmeal cereal for a while and probably introduce oatmeal with a bit of banana ( baby food).. I will still pump milk out so she can have it in a bottle.. you must love his reaction to the food lol! He is adorable! take care.

Friday, 1 August OMG he is so precious- My baby was born on April 30- and yes i am breastfeeding and I love it- are you breastfeeding as well? I LOVE being a mom- we r planning to have another next year planning for the summer time. Hope to hear form you soon :) ~NyMom -
Friday, 1 August You can still continue the bottle and cereal.. it is just the amount you add..my pedi told me just to add a tiny weeny bit like half a teaspoon just not too much to her bottle ( basically you should still be able to squeeze liquid out from the nipple) but my daughter rarely gets a bottle... as long as it is rice cereal which is easier to digest... I can't wait to start my daughter 2 sundays from now..
..you can still breast feed first than offer the cereal mixed with breast milk when the baby is 4 months... that is what I am going to do..give her a bottle of breast milk first than offer a bit of cereal and give her the rest of her bottle of breast milk as long as they get breast milk even through a bottle or cup they will be fine... but solids like actual mashed up foods should wait till like 6 months.. I know moms who began foods early and their baby have no problems but I just want my baby to pace herself I want her to sit up and show interest when I am eating and go on from there.. gosh our babies ae growing up!!

Wednesday, 30 July my daughter will be 4months next week and we arent feeding her any solids till shes 6months. we exclusivley breast feed right now. MY dr says the longer you wait to intoduce solids the better time they will have digesting them and the less likley they will develop alergys. I my dr said it was also not a good idea to put cereal or rice in the bottle but instead to mix it and put it on a spoon when i was ready to feed her solids. But when it comes right down to it its what works best for you and your baby. my goal is to breastfeed until shes at least six months and once you start solid feeding your milk production will slow down because your not bfing as much. so do what works best for you but when in doubt ask ur doc. Wednesday, 30 July I'm not feeding my daughter solids until 6 months. She doesn't need it. Don't compare to other babies! Each mom makes her own decision and you shouldn't feel pressured to do what others are doing. softkitty -
Saturday, 26 July Thanks for responding regarding how many oz you pump. I'm now wondering how do you space the pumping sessions? Avryls Mommy -

Saturday, 26 July Hi! It is a Bumbo Seat. You can find them at Wal-Mart, Target, Babies R Us, etc. They come in all different colors and they sell play trays that you can connect to the Bumbo Seat. I have one but I haven't used it yet. Sofia loves her Bumbo Seat. She loves sitting up too. Sofia's new favorite thing is her Rainforest Jumperoo. Take Care! Keep in touch :) cris99 -
