9 month checkup
I'm soo busy these days, where does the time go. Ryan had his 9 month check up and he is doing GREAT! Poor guy got poked on his foot and his arm. He is not anemic and so far his TB is not swelling. His foreskin on his penis kind of attached so the doctor had to pull it back again, OUCH!!! My hubby was feeling his pain. He has a total of 6 teeth 2 on the bottom and 4 on the top, he eats all types of food and loves pizza,toast and strawberry yogurt. He is trying to walk, he has taking 3 or 4 steps, which Im not encouraging but my hubby finds it amusing. He has a great sleeping pattern, 3 hour nap during the day and 12 hours nites. He is 31 inches long and 19.10 pounds still a string bean!! But he is following his growth chart perfectly!! We bought him some Air Jordans and Addidas shoes, up until now he really has not worn shoes, but he is going to a Mothers Day out two times a week starting in September, and he is required to wear shoes, so I'm trying to get him used to wearing them. Wish me luck. Do any of you have your halloween customes picked out yet?? I haven't gotten there yet!! I still need to figure out what I'm doing for his 1st birthday. The summer is just going super fast!! I also bought him a playhouse which he loves already but won't be able to take full advantage until another month or two, but I couldnt pass the offer up!! Wow! Time flys when your having fun...I haven't updated in almost two months. There is so much going on! The weather has been great down south, so we are enjoying being outside in the pool or at Seaworld, he loves the dolphins and seals. He is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on the sofa and walking around, sometimes he even works up the nerve to try and take a step by himself...he loves his push toy but can only take a few steps at a time, Im not pushing the walking thing just yet, I would like for him to crawl for at least another 2 months, but Ryan is soo eager to walk! He cut his fangs over the 4th of July weekend, not fun. He had 101 temp, and was not a happy camper. The two middle teeth on the top are starting to come down too, so he'll have a total of 6 teeth...wow...my baby is growing too fast. He loves his snacks, right now he likes strawberries and his baby mum mum rice cakes. He is such a joy to be around..he makes me laugh everyday! I love him sooo much, truly a blessing!! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July with there little ones.

Update
Ryan is crawling!!! Oh my!! What a site to see, he sure is enjoying his time on the floor much more! He starts cooing when he crawls because he is so excited for himself. He has been trying for weeks, but could never figure the legs out, I started crawling around on the floor, and I think that's what did it!! He saw me crawl with the motion of the arms and legs, well at least that's what mom wants to believe...haha! I also took him to the pool, still alittle too cold, but he didn't mind!! I put him in his float and he was kicking away!! BTW, Costco has the swimmer diapers on sale, if anyone needs them I think you get 30 for $10.00, that will last all summer for us!! He is learning to throw his toys around, too....he'll grab a small ball and fling it across the room and crawl to retrieve it!!! Yah for him!!!

Update
The trip to Dallas was fantastic!! Ryan did so well, he slept through the night, didn't make a peep! We took him to the Fort Worth Zoo, it was so amazing a must if your in the area...all the animal were out and awake, Ryan loves animal, he gets so excited, his arms fly all over the place with happiness! He also did well in his car seat for the 5 hour drive, we only stopped once for a diaper change and stretch and back on the road! BTW, I highly recommend getting a mattress for the pack n play to make it more comfortable for them. We bought ours at Babies r Us for $25.00, it was well worth it.

6 month checkup
Ryan is following his growth chart perfectly!! He weighs 17.6 pounds and measures 28.25 inches. He is growing like a weed, I have him in 9 and 12 month clothing because he is soo tall, although I can seem to still put him in 0-3 shorts!!! He is just like his daddy, a slim jim! He is sitting up and trying to crawl, which is exciting for Scott and I. Seeing our little guy develop into a little man has been so wonderful. We have a trip to Dallas next week for my sister graduation, lets see how he does in the pack n play, because he loves his crib. He is eating like a champ, he loves cereal, most veggies, and pears!! He is not to keen on fruit yet, but I'm slowly introducing him to new fruit. Bathtime is a riot, he just loves the water, he will sit there and splash, I can't wait to take him to the pool. His hair is turning a lighter shade of brown with blonde pieces and his eyelashes are to die for, long and curled!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful time with there little ones, at this age there so much you can do with them it's never ending!!! Take care.

Update
Ryan had his first birthday party today, his cousin Colin was turning 3!!! Yah for him!!! Ryan had a great time meeting all the little boys and one girl on my Hubby's side of the family. He met his cousin Rey Marcus for the first time, and it was so funny seeing them squeal with happiness, Rey Marcus is 2 months older than Ryan. Another surprise we had was Ryan slept through the night, for the first time!!!!! He went down at 9:30 and didn't make a peep until 9:00am, I feel so refreshed, I suddenly remember what it feels like to have a good nights rest...hehe!! We gave Ryan his first taste of sweet potato last week, which he LOVES, and today we introduced him to carrots, I don't know which he likes better...his mouth was so wide and open ready for more, I couldn't help but laugh!!! He looks like a baby bird. Aww....I love him so much! I hope everyone is having fun with there little ones, they grow soo fast! Hugs to all!!!

4 month check up
Ryan did very well with his shots, I was so nervous because I hate shots myself!!! He is growing so fast, he weighs 14 pounds 12 oz and measures a very long 27 inches. He is turning over easily and is trying to sit up by himself. I have a feeling he is going to start crawling at 6 months! That should be exciting. He is also talking so much and making alot more noises and gurgles. The drolling situation his not gotten any better so Ryan wear a bib to protect his clothing or else he gets soaked. He is grabbing everything in site, he loves grabbing my baby hairs in the back of my head, ouch! The doctor said his motor skills are advanced, which I kinda figured that out, it seems like in the past month he has learned so many new things and he is just so excited to be around daddy or mommy, his legs and arms go crazy when he sees us in the morning or getting up from a nap!!! I love him soo much, he is the best thing that could have happened to me!!! I hope all you other mommy's are enjoying the time with your little ones too!! Hugs to you all!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Ryan had his 2 month check up today and he was a trooper with all the shots he received!!!! I gave him some tylenol and he slept most of the day and night. He weighs 11 pounds 10 oz and is 24 inches long. He holds his head up and is well on the way to turn from his back to his tummy!!! He loves to pretend walk and can hold his body weight. I'm so proud of him. He says Mom and Momma!!! I'm amazed I don't know if it's a reflex because he only does it when he cries. But, it's so cool to hear him say it already!! He has also found his hands and puts them in his mouth and drolls alot. My baby is growing soo fast!!! I hope all you other Mommy's are enjoying your little ones just like me.

My little Ryan is growing so fast!!! Everyday I notice a change in him, he looks so much like his daddy and acts like him already!!!! I love being a mommy!!! He now weighs about 9 pounds 8 oz and is 22 inches long!!! He holds his head up and loves to smile!!!! I started supplementing him on Thanksgiving to give my boobs a break and it works well. He loves to coo and drool!!! He is a true joy to have and I love every minute with him.
Baby Ryan has finally arrived!!!! Born November 1 @ 6:09pm weighs 7 pounds 1 oz, length 20 in......I'll have pictures and labor story in the next couple of days, I'm a busy breastfeeding mom to a hungry little boy :o)
Labor story
Halloween night I started to have mild contraction about 20 minutes apart....so I decided to take a stroll to bring on the stronger, closer contractions...I had a few here and there but nothing major. That same night at about 1:30 am I woke up with contractions about 5-7 minutes apart, I moved from the bed to the rocking chair and started timing them....suddenly I felt wet so I went to the bathroom and noticed I lost my mucous plug(gross)...ironically I had a doctor appt at 8 am so I thought I wait it out and see her, I knew I was in labor I just didnt know how far...I made it to my doctors appt and she said I was 3 cm and fully effaced so she admitted me to the hospital. Yay!!!
So they hooked me up to all the machines and I waited within the hour my water broke...after 3 hours the nurse came back to check and I was only 4 cm so they gave me pictocin.....that is when the real pain set in my contractions started to come every 1 - 2 minutes apart and very very strong....I decided on the epidural and was very happy that I did after another 3 hours nurse came back and checked I was 9.5 cm so she told me to get ready to push in 15 minutes...I pushed for about 1 hour and baby Ryan was born...It was a beautiful experience and I am truly blessed to have had an easy pregnancy and a successful labor.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!
First positive HPT, I'm pregnant, YAHOOOOO!!!!!! We have a winner!!!!

First ultrasound, at 6 weeks 4 days, being very cautious!!!!! Amno and Yolk sac look great. Really hungry and starting to feel very tired. All the bloodwork to follow, eekkk.
April
Second ultrasound, everything looks great baby on track at 10 weeks, my due date is set for OCT 25. Got to hear the heartbeat for the first time-168 WHOA, the best feeling in the world. Feeling really sick and really tired, I really love to sleep all weekend long. No aches and no pains. Everything is going smoothly.
May
Confirmed pregnancy, first OB appt, urine test came back negative for sugar and protein, got to hear the heartbeat again 158 - 168, little angel was jumping around like crazy. Doc says "you have a very active baby".
June
The big appt is on June 7, I find out the sex of my baby, wish me luck!!!!!

It's a baby boy, Doc says she's 100% sure, I'm 100% sure as well, after looking at his goodies!!!! hehehhehehhe. Hubbie and I are very excited, we can't wait to hold him in our arms. Feeling great, nothing to complain about yet ( : Went shopping and headed to Babies r Us to get information and look at all the items we will need before he arrives, very overwhelming.
July
Nothing new to report, been feeling bubs for sometime now, he likes to do cartwheels or something, and his all time favorite is punching my bladder....oh the joys for pregnancy. Nursery is almost done, just need to add wall art and change out the outlets and lightswitch, my hubbie did a great job on the paint and wood floors, soon I'll get a picture. Finally registered after repeated complaints from extended family. Next appt is July 12, will probably be scheduled for the dreaded glucose test, ugh. Hope everyone is having a great pregnancy with little or no problems. My cousin is 5 weeks ahead of me and has been in the hospital 3 times, the first time she starting bleeding at 17 weeks because her placenta was detaching, second time she was having major contractions and dilated to 1 cm, they stopped the contractions and gave her a shot to help speed up lung development, third time after complete bedrest she starting bleeding again....hopefully she can make it to 32 weeks, only time will tell. Belly hugs to everyone!!!!

Had a doc appt today, gained 3 more pounds in 5 weeks which is not to bad...everything looks great blood pressure is 112/68, no sugar or protein in my urine, really nothing to complain about....I also got my order for the glocose test, she gave me the drink to take home, I have to complete the test in the next two weeks, they gave me the orange flavor, hopefully its not that bad. She did let me hear his heartbeating, sounds beautiful. She says he weights 2Ibs, I think I'm a week further along, but only time will tell. I have another sonogram scheduled for September 14, to see my little guy for the last time before delivery!!!!! We have not picked a name yet but Ashton Scott, Ryan Anthony and Zachary James are in the running. Take care

I took my glucose test today, wasn't bad at all...I drank the orange flavor, tasted like orange crush. I downed it in 1 minute flat, headed to the lab and they drew my blood...that was it. No side effects, Im really happy because Ive heard too many bad stories. Starting to have hip pain while sleeping...hopefully I can find a comfortable position until October... Oh ya, I think we finally picked a name for our little dude... RYAN ANTHONY....We're both content with his name, but I still have time to make changes...LOL

I failed my 1 hour GD test, ugh...I had scored a 160, the highest normal is 140...Here I go again, getting poked 4 times is gonna be fun, considering I have trouble giving blood. Well I went in this morning to get my 3 hour test done, it wasnt that bad, I was very light headed and wanted to get the heck out of there and get something to eat, which didnt happen until 1:30pm....hopefully my results come back normal....

I got the call from my doctors office and everything came back normal, yahoo. Im gonna celebrate with a large chocolate dipped ice cream cone.

I have had acid reflex or really bad indigestion for two days...I think Ryan has his legs pushing on my stomach. I also got my first cause of swelling today, my feet are swollen, not too bad..but enough to bother me. hopefully it will past...Ryan has been moving around and my stomach is doing the wave...

Went to doctor's appt today, Ryan is head down and doctor wants me to take it easy for the next 4 weeks, to keep from going into preterm labor, his estimated weight is about 4 pounds, and his heartbeat was at 148....I feel great, we talked about the pressure on my left groin area, and she said it has to do with him being head down or maybe a shoulder on a nerve...Next appt Sep 14 is for an sonogram, can't wait to see him one last time before he arrives.

I had my last U/S before baby Ryan is born..doctor says everything looks great..cute nose and posh lips. Ryan weighs approx 5 pounds 6 oz., gained 1 pound since last appt...getting closer and closer to seeing my little bundle of joy.

WOW Ryan is a TALL boy!! I'm happy to hear that everything went well at his 4 month appointment! I know you're excited to start him on food. I alternate with Gage a jar will last about 3 days and I'll give him cereal and the for 3 days a veggie and then a fruit. He is doing so well with eating-the only problem we have is him wanting to stick his fingers in his mouth after each bite-vut he's improving! Gage goes for his 6 month on March 17th and I'm going to see if he can start eating solids twice a day cause the sitter said he acts like he's starving and he's eating over there every 3 hours. I'll probably just send cereal to her house! I forgot that you are an accountant-this is your busy time of year! I'm glad you are able to get some rest. I heard this morning that Dallas got 5 inches of snow-that's crazy!!! It was nice here for a few days but back to being COLD and i'm over it. Gage is being Baptized on Easter and I'm going to go this weekend and try and find him a smashing little outfit-wish me luck! Everything dressy to fit our boys either looks to sissy or to old manish-if that makes sense. Hopefully I can find something. I made an appointment for his 6 month pics at the end of this month-can't wait. It was great to hear from you and even better to hear that Ryan is doing great. Good Morning! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has some work to do in the weight department. My boobs definitely are not what they once were! My friend had a baby 2 months after me and she has lost all her weight and then some I look at her and I'm like what????? I guess everyone is different but like you said I wouldn't change it for the world. Gage is still coughing like an 80 year old smoker-it's not as bad, but we had to go to the store last night and every time he coughed people were turning and looking at me like what the heck is wrong with your baby???? I hope he's on the road to recovery. We had to take him to a Developmental Specialist yesterday and I'm happy to report that Gage is doing great and right on target-see he's considered 3 months old not 5 months-they go by the date that he would have been born 10-29-07 and he said he's doing alot of things that 5 month olds do so that was very reassuring!!! I think Gage is starting to get some teeth he won't keep his fingers out of his mouth and he's been drooling like crazy. How about Ryan??? Talk to you soon!

Dean took Gage to the Dr. and she thought that she was going to have to admit him into to the Hospital for an overnight Oxygen treatment THANK GOD that didn't have to happen his Oxygen level was 96 and anything below 93 is a major cause for concern. They gave him another breathing treatment and said to keep and eye on him and if he seems like he's struggling to breathe to take him to the Hospital immediately. Last night he did a little better still didn't sleep much but he did eat and keep it down and we were thrilled. This morning was the first time in days that he actually cried for his bottle and he kept down 4 ounces. His eyes look better and he was smiling and acting like his normal self. I hope and pray that he's on the road to recovery because it's heartbreaking to see him like this and I'm not sure how much longer we can go with NO SLEEP. The good thing is that he's not running a temp and she said there's nothing major that's causing his cough just a normal virus but because he's so little they can't give him anything.
I know what you mean about our Boys getting so BIG. Gage doesn't look like a baby to me anymore. I saw a newborn in the office the other day and heard her crying and I remembered when Gage sounded and looked like that. Sounds like you guys are having some pretty nice weather right now that's great. Every day it's different here yesterday was a high of 42 today high of 53 and tomorrow 39 I'm over winter bring on Spring. I'm not trying to rush it too much because my body is not at all ready for the Summer and you won't catch me in a bathing suit unless I shed some pounds. Have you lost all your pregnancy weight? I'm having a hard time and I hate my flabby belly BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!! Have a great day!!!!

Well I'm back from my weekend from HELL! My poor child is so sick and I'm not sure what to do. His cough has gotten so bad that he starts having these coughing attacks and Throws up. I went through this all weekend and last night he held his meds and milk down and I thought he was getting better but this morning I was getting him ready for the sitter and put him in his car seat and he started coughing and then came the yuck stuff again UUUGGGHHHHH and It went all over me so I had to change and get him changed and I'm sitting at my desk hoping to God that I don't smell like baby puke because my nose is still stuffed up. I called the Dr. again this morning and am waiting for a call back his chest is rattling and his cough is awful. I'm officially at the end of my rope so if he has to go back to the Dr. today my Husband said he would take him so I don't have to leave work again. He'll tell them straight up that they need to do something for him. I just hope he doesn't go off to the point where they give his chart and say maybe you should find another Dr. I'm just worried about it turning into Pneumonia!!! I'm just so worried and frustrated. By the way they weighed him and he's now 13.13 getting BIG!
Yes, I's been down with the Spurs. My Husband is from Ft.Worth his family moved here when he was 16 but we are planning a trip for the summer in 2009 it's his family reuinion and I'm stoked to visit. I've been to Dallas and I had a blast! He's converted me to the Cowboys and Gage has all kinds of Cowboys gear!!! He owns a Restaurant that does South West cuisine and the whole place has Texas license plates on the walls and bull horns too. My Husband is a very proud Texan!!!! How was your weekend? What's the weather been like for ya'll? It was cold all weekend I can't wait for spring!

just wanted to update/vent for a second! I took my son to the Dr. yesterday his Dr. wasn't there and had to see someone else. I was not a fan of her she said she thought he had the flu but tested negative then she said he was wheezing so he got a breathing treatment which they just left me in the room to do myself and he was fighting me the whole time then I told her that he has been tugging at his left ear and she said his ear was fine she gave him nothing for his cough and just said to wait and see and that she had no idea what it was and that it could be RSV or just a cold. I WANTED AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT WAS WRONG NOT I'M NOT SURE!!!!! Last night he was coughing so bad that he started throwing up which he's never even spit up and he coughed all night long. This morning I called and got another appointment with his regular Dr. and she looked at his left ear and said he has an EAR INFECTION-UUUUGGGGHHHHHH I said that's funny cause the Dr, yesterday said his ears were fine. Anyways she put him on an anitbiotic but said there was nothing that could be done for his cough but to wait it out and continue using his vaporizer. I realize I'm a nervous first time Mom but that Dr. yesterday treated me and looked at me like I'm stupid and when I was explaining to her his symptoms she had her back to me and was reading a message the nurse gave her. I'm just glad I know it's nothing too serious and i'm glad it's Friday so I can spend the weekend cuddling with my Son and give him lots and lots of TLC!!!!
I'm glad Ryan is doing better at night! Don't you just love to hear them making noise and cooing it's sounds so SWEET!!!! I can't wait to hear when you go for his 4 month how long he's gotten-our boys are going to be Tall! Who knows maybe they'll be playing in the NBA together!!! Have a great weekend!!!!! Well Gage is officially sick and I'm taking him to the Dr. today at 3:00 it's heert breaking to hear him cough and he's been tugging at his left ear-poor little guy! I'll let you know how it goes! AWWWW his pics came out great!!! Yes, it's hard to resist not buying them all. I had to seriously try and restrain myself at penneys. Gage went for his 4 month appt on Jan 14th and he was 12 lbs 5.oz we go for his 6 month in March I'm guessing he's probably around 14 or 15 lbs.I keep looking to see if he's teething becasue he's drooling alot and has his hands in his mouth all the time, but I can't see anything. I've had a horrible sinus infection so I'm trying to stay out of his face and it's killing me because I miss kissing on him. Gage is still not sleeping through the night. He goes to bed at 7:30 and sleeps till about 1:30 and then up at 5:30. I try not to complain because it's better than it was-although i've resigned myself to the fact that i'm never going to have a good nights sleep again!!! I have the same problem with Gage's exersaucer we have to stuff the seat with blankets to hold him in. He has a Jumperoo too but we haven't put it ogether yet maybe this weekend. Talk to you soon!!!!

Hey there! Just checking to see how you and Ryan are doing. Have you started him on cereal yet? When does he go for his 4 month appt. they will probably give you the go ahead for cereal and jar food then. Gage has been taking about a table spoon of cereal or fruits or veggies each day and has been doing great. He really likes pears and applesauce. I gave him butternut squash the other day and the look on his face was priceless-he was not a fan of it!!!Any luck on the exersaucer? Gage is really loving his, which is great for me because I can actually get some things done. He'll last about 45 min in it and then he's done. I posted a pic of him in it in my photos section. Gage will be 5 months on Valentines Day-where does the time go. On February 22nd will be a year since I found out I was preggo-aww my life has drastically changed for the better. Give me an update! I've been giving Gage cereal and some fruit and veggies and I thought he would sleep longer with a full belly but NO!!!!! I miss sleep so much!!!! I'm glad to hear that you're having the same issue with Baby Ryan-let me rephrase I mean I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this.

Oh my GOSH that's crazy Gage is doing the same thing up evry 4 hours and I'm so tired! Wal-mart has the Exersaucer I was telling you about for 35.00! I wonder why our littel guys are going backwards. My Husband and I were both dragging butt this morning trying to get out of the house.

Hey there! I wanted to let you know that I went on Saturday to Target and they had the Evenflo Mega Circus Exersaucer on sale it's usually $50.00 and they had on sale for $34.98. I came home and put it together myself which was kind of a pain in the butt it took about an hour but I did it and Gage loves it. We have to stuff blankets down in the seat in front of him and behind him, but he has been grabbing at the toys and even spins the barrell of monkeys. It has this cool carousel that play music and make animal sounds. I had no idea how expensive some of these exersaucers were but after reading the good reviews that this one got I was very happy with my purchase. How are you and Baby Ryan doing? Thanks for the compliment on Gage's pics! Yes, he worked it during his photo shoot and I was worried because I had to wake him up but he did GREAT! I took him to JCPenney and I was very pleased with how they turned out! These are his first professional and I figured at 4, 6, and 12 months would be good ages to get them done. Yes, he has started on cereal and I gave him a little applesauce and some carrots and he's done well with all of them and he's sleeping alot better too. How's Ryan doing? Have you gotten him an exersaucer yet? The sitter tried Gage in the one she has and he loved it! I'm going to try and get him one this weekend if its not too cold outside! Talk to you soon!~Laura
