My baby finally came home after a week in the NICU...she was definitely the biggest baby there :) I was so sad evertime I would visit I would just cry...I hated leaving the hospital without her. But the drs said that if we would have taken her home w/the elevated wht cell count it could have been fatal. So I'm so glad that we followed our instinct. I'm so happy she's home now and that I can spend so much time with her since I'm working from home now...check out my website www.elppetproducts.com

Well, I had my baby girl on Friday, Apr.18th. She was 8 lbs. 4 oz! Everyone was saying that she seemed big for being two wks early. Anyway, thanks for everyone who responded to my anxious question on Thurs. it turns out that I was bleeding too much and that I had ruptured but only had a slow leakage. They decided to keep me in the hospital and give pitocin. AND listen to this...TWO EPIDURALS and they didn't work!!! The anesthesiologist said that my back was crooked...I wanted to tell her that so was her face!!! I'm usually not a mean person but after 20+ hours of contractions I just wanted to kill someone!! So I guess for my next pregnancy (god willing) I wont get an epidural at all since I have a curvature on back. Anyway, since I delivered the following day...more than 24hrs after breaking my water, the drs said that my baby' was showing signs of an infection with an elevated white blood cell count. The weird thing is that she had spent the night in the room w/us when I heard her having problems with her breathing. So I asked my husband what he thought if that was normal or not. The pediatrician decided to do all these tests and that was how they found the possible infection. Sadly, she has to stay in the NICU for a week to get all these tests done and be on antibiotics. I'm so looking forward to bringing my little one home. Wishing all of you guys the best!!!

My husband and I have been married for four and a half years and dated about 3 and half. So needless to say I feel that we've been together for a long time and are ecstatic about having our first baby. We met at church through our college ministry at Cal State Los Angeles. Funny thing, we went to the same middle school but he was too cool to talk to a scrub like me! We moved to El Paso, Texas about a year ago for my husbands job. We were given the option to relocate so we decided to take the offer. I just needed three classes to finish my Masters in Counseling and my husband had just started his MBA. Luckily he's finishing his last class in dec. I'll start a whole new program at NMSU after the baby is born. We definitly miss LA! All of our family is over there. The good thing is that we have great friends from church here so that makes it a little easier...though, nothing can replace your family. I'm an only child so my mom is so excited about having grandchildren. My husband has two sisters. His oldest sister has three little ones. I'm really happy to see that my husband is so into me being pregnant. He has always been a great husband but he is extra loving and patient with me. I know he'll be a great father!
