My baby is due on July 2nd.... and she's a girl :) i really cant wait and it feels like i've been pregnant forever.. I only have 7 days to go as i just clicked over to week 39. There's so much to look forward to... and it feels like i've made every preperation possible for my little girl to come.... When i have my little girl i'm going to make a comprehensive birth story, as i've found being a first time mum myself, i really need to know all the nitty-gritty details so i can prepare myself better for when i go into labor.... i hope what i write will help you other first time mummys.....

Keep all your fingers and toes crossed for me :)

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE :) xxxx

I'm really sorry to hear that about your mum. I'm an ICU nurse and know what you're talking about. Hang in there tho, one day at a time, and take hope in every small step. Keep talking to her about your baby, and hopefully they will get to meet soon. Best wishes for you and your family..x

Glad to help...isn't the forum just great?! Sometimes it's nice to know what everyone else is experiencing so you don't think you are losing your mind! Hahah!

About you concerned not having BH contractions (or, actually not feeling them, or recognising them). I would just say that everybody is different, and you just might not recognise them. Or, they are not as strong as some women have or whatsoever... Really, think of some ladies that are actually in labour for hours before they even recognise it. Its really normal and happens quite often (ok, going to labor is also a very long process...) Anyways, I have even heard of some women, who have dilated 8 cm (!!) and start having "real" pain only then... Thats of corse very rare, but just think that everybody is different and you might just not recognise your BH contractions which are anyways quite difficult to recognise...!

You may be having them and not realize it. I just talked to my doctor today, and he asked me was I having any contractions. I was like, um, not sure, but I THIIIIINK so. He laughed and said I sounded like a first time mom...which I am! I described a tightening sensation, and he said that most women describe it as if the baby is balling up...and that's exactly what I have been having. I thought the baby was just curling up in a spot, but that is apparently a contraction! So maybe you just aren't feeling them yet or didn't know how to recognize them...I certainly didn't! Hang in there...I am sure we'll both be feeling them soon enough! Congrats on your upcoming arrival! :)

Thanks for the nice comments on my nursery, I am glad I am not the only one who likes it : )

Strong smelling urine could be a Urinary Tract Infection, or just that the urine is more concentrated since your body is cleaning the blood for two people now instead of just one. Try making sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and this should take care of it.

melge - Tuesday, 8 April
i had the same problem as you a few weeks back where it smelt really wierd everytime i went to pee, turned out it was just because id just been eating asparagus every day which makes your wee smell haha!! i had no idea it did that!! x x

teresa262 - Tuesday, 8 April
When I had very smelly urine my doc said that I needed to drink more water. Mine was to concentrated and the water helps to dilute. But you may want to get checked for an infection, either urinary tract or bladder, but it could also be in your kidneys. Always better safe than sorry.

lucysMum - Monday, 7 April
Have you done a urine test recently? I had pains with my first but this time it seems to be related to an infection, whereas last time i just put it down to growing pains.

Hi, just read your post about the pain. Since yesterday, I have had this sharp shooting pain high up on the inside of my left thigh and into my pelvis. It doesn't matter if am sitting, standing or lying down! and its not always there but once it is, its quite intense! I feel like she is lying on a nerve or something and I seem to be carrying her pretty low, will see my doctor on wednesday, hope he can give me something for this... Please let me know if ur pain is similar and if u find a cure or way to alleviate it. Best wishes to you and your baby!!!

just read your comment about the pains that you are having and i am experiencing the same thing...i don't know what it is or what causes but i know it sucks..i can't barely walk or move...i am going to ask my doctor about it bcause it is causing pain in my lower back and lower abdomen too and its kinda scary

sweetness - Monday, 7 April
Hey I just saw your comment about the pains in the top of your legs. I was really surprised to see someone else feeling the same thing as me. We went to a festival the other day and walked for about 8 hours straight. The pain started that night so I thought it was just from all of the walking. I told my husband it felt like the joints holding my legs to my hips were going to break, they were so sore. It's been 2 days now and they are still hurting, not as bad as the first day..it seems to be lessening slowly. I never thought it would have something to do with the pregnancy, but I guess if I'm not the only one feeling it at this point, it may be a symptom. If you figure out what it is, let me know cause I'm curious. Thanks

You may just need more support of your tummy. Using one of those belly bands for support might help.

BH shouldnt be painful sweetie, sounds more like baby lying on a nerve, i get so uncomfortable at night, cant seem to lie in one spot for too long.. if ur ever in doubt call someone, .x.x.x.x

Sorry hun, It is a pain lol. I have felt like that since week 8 lol.. I have no motivation to do anything anymore but still have to work and clean and all that fun stuff!!! Hope you feel better:)

BabyBish - Tuesday, 18 Mar
Hey girl! I get the same pins and needles feeling. Sometimes when I am working (I work in a hospital laboratory and I am on my feet all night long) my left hip goes numb down to my feet. For a few days my whole left side of my face all the way to my toes was numb. I barely had any feeling in it at all. My doctor says it is all normal. When I am sleeping I lose circulation in my hands and feet too. My husband always reminds me to sleep with my preggie pillow. It seems to help. I got mine at Target. It is a full body pillow that shapes to my body. Isn't it crazy! Our little ones do not even weigh 2lbs yet and look what we are already experiencing! I've only gained 3 lbs so far too. Imagine what the 3rd trimester holds for us!!!

araya-sunshine - Saturday, 15 Mar
I was 120lbs when I got pregnant with my first and I looked HUGE with her. Then I got kind of chunky. Now, I hardly look pregnant... at least compared to when I was this far along with my daughter. I think its just more noticable with thin people. Plus, chunky woman tend not to put on as much weight because we already have the fat stores we need.

kelly714 - Saturday, 15 Mar
I havent gotten much bigger either and my boobs havent really changed. The doc says the baby looks great so I just try to focus on that instead of just feeling like I look fat instead of preggo :)

teresa262 - Saturday, 15 Mar
Maybe you just think you are not as big as you should be. Post a pick, I sure you look great. Congrats to you abd best wishes.

ntsparkes - Saturday, 15 Mar
when it comes to size in pregnancy, every woman is different as is every pregnancy. with my daughter i hardly grew at all. i am as big now with this baby as i was at full term in my last pregnancy and i was big with my first born too. one factor with me could have been that i was thin with my first, over weight with my second and thinner with this baby. as for boobs, this is the first time by boobs have grown like this. they never got much bigger with previous pregnancies until baby was born. i asume your midwife has not mentioned and concerns about you utrus size. if this is the case i wouldnt worry too much. i hope this reasures you.
