Xavier Came home last night (June 24th) around 8:00pm!!!!!! We are so thankful and blessed to have him here with us. We are enjoying EVERY minute with him. Even the 3 hour feeding schedule! I must admit I am kind of nervous because he is sooo little. He has his first doctor appointment tomorrow. I am hoping he gained a few ounces. Once again, Thank you God for your blessing!!!
Xavier arrived on June 20th at 12:17am. He was born at 36 weeks 2 days. I started labor around 7:30pm got to the hospital around 9:00pm. Started pushing at midnight and he was born 17 minutes later. No pain relief!!! Ohhh my goodness, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. I had a puke pan next to me because the pain was so intense. It was by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Would I do it again, absolutely. Xavier is still in the special care nursery due to his lack of feeding and low blood sugar levels. He also had a dip in his oxygen levels last night so they want to monitor him for a little while longer. Hoping to have him home in a few days. Thank you for your blessing God!

I have a beautiful healthy six year old little girl. This past June when I was 23 weeks pregnant I woke up at 9:00a.m. and I was having pain in my lower abdomin. At 23 weeks I really didn't think they were contractions, so I sat around the house until my daughter and husband came home. We decided I better go to the hospital because they were getting worse. I went up to labor and delivery and they started me on an IV and antibiotics because I had a urinary track infection and was dehidrated. They thought that this is what was causing the contractions and the IV would make them stop. Well, labor continued to progress. At about 5:00 at night I dialated to a 1. This is when they sent me by ambulance to a hopspital in Detroit that could deal with such premies if we decided to intubate. At 11:23 p.m. I delivered a little girl, which we named Laila. Me and my husband decided not to intubate, because chances of her surviving with no problems were slim to none being born this early. We decided that this was happening for a reason and that we needed to let her go to heaven peacefully. My husband cut the cord, they wrapped her in a blanket, and we held her until she passed. She lived for an hour and seven minutes. We buried her two days later. I know she is our little angel watching over us.
This was by far the hardest thing I have ever gone through. We decided that we wanted to try again right away, but my new doctors (I am considered high risk now, so I am with the high risk doctors) said to wait at least 3 months because they wanted the lining of the uterus to get nice and thick. So we did, because I do not think I could go through something like that again.
I got pregnant right away. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and nervous as can be.
Because of my preterm labor and delivery this pregnancy is a little different. I have to give myself a shot of lovenox every night and I have to go for a progestrian(sp) shot every week to help prevent early contractions. I also have three major goals that my doctor wants me to hit. The first one is 28 weeks, then 32 weeks, and then 34 weeks. So once I hit 34 weeks they will more than likely take my baby boy, which puts me at June 2nd. So, so nervous, but excited and confident that things will be ok this time around.

March 12th
I had some blood tinged mucus on Sunday. I freaked out, because with my last pregnancy I started having blood tinged mucus at 19 weeks, but it never went away and I ended up going into labor at 23 weeks. Went to labor and delivery at the hospital. Everything checked out ok so they sent me home on strict bed rest. Followed up with my doctor on Monday. They did an ultrasound. Everything is ok, but they found my placenta to be low lying. That `s why they think I had the blood tinged mucus. I also had it at 13 weeks, but it went away until this past Sunday. I have not had any blood tinged mucus since Sunday. I am praying it doesn `t come back. So I `m on bedrest for the duration of this pregnancy.

March 17th
Boy am I paranoid, but with my history I feel like I have to be!! On Saturday night around 11:00p.m. I ended up going to labor and delivery again. I was laying in bed and I felt my abdomen tightening. I was thinking contractions and I freaked out. Turns out they are just Braxton-Hicks, which is totally normal around this time. I was told to try and relax and drink PLENTY of water. This is week 23 for me so I am sooooo nervous because this is when I went into labor with my last pregnancy. But I have to believe what the doctor's keep saying- that every pregnancy is different. I also have to have faith in God that things will turn out great this time.

Had a doctor's appt. yesterday. All went well . They are still a little concerned with my previous preterm labor and delivery, so they are now starting to see me every two weeks. They checked to see if I was dilated, which thank goodness I am not, and they also checked my cervix, which is long, measuring at 5.7. In two weeks I go for another ultrasound to measure cervical length. Only 4 more weeks to my first goal -28 weeks- yeah!!! Praying that things go well!!

4-4-08
Everything went good at the doctor's today. Had an ultrasound and Xavier weighs 2lbs already! Only 2 more weeks until my 1st goal. I am nervous, but getting excited! I have been freaking out about these Braxton-Hicks, but the doctor said I need to relax, they are normal. As long as they are not regular or painful. I need to go for my Gluecose test in the upcoming week. Fun, fun! Hopefully I can update with good news 2 weeks from now.

4-18-08
Had doctors appt. Everything is good. Passed the Glucose test. Yeah!! They didn't do to much today, since I was at labor and delivery on Wed. and had a thorough exam. I had INTENSE pressure down low yesterday. So intense that I could barely walk. I felt if I got up or went to the bathroom that Xavier would fall out. The doctor told me when I feel like that to lay down, and that the feeling is probably from all the growing and stretching that is going on. I have also been experiencing braxton-hicks and round ligament pain. Some of the braxton-hicks have been pretty strong, not painful, just strong. That is why I went to labor and delivery. While up at labor and delivery, they checked me and I am "closed and thick". They also tested some of my mucus to see if it is likely that I will have labor in the next two weeks and the test came back negative, which means I will probably NOT go into labor within the next two weeks. Thank you God!!! You are good!!! I hit my first goal Monday!!! I am starting to get excited. As of Monday I will be marching toward my second goal, 32 weeks.

Had a very eventful weekend. I had a regular baby doctor appointment Friday morning at 11:00am. They checked me and I was 1 cm dilated and contracting (mind you, these were not painful, and I have been contracting since about 23 weeks). They put me in a wheelchair, took me straight up to the hospital where they had a room ready for me. They hooked me up to the monitors. The baby looked great, but I was contracting often (every 3 to 6 to 4 minutes), but not regularly. This is when the meds started flowing. They gave me so much, but it worked. It pretty much stopped the contractions. Now I maybe get one to two an hour if that. I also received the steroid shots for the baby. I am also now on Procardia (SP) every 6 hours until I deliver. Even tough I am 1 cm dilated, my cervix is still long, which is good and I had that test done again, which came back negative, so chances that I will not have labor within the next 14 days is pretty good. They released me this morning at about 11:00. Once again I am on strict bed rest. I can't even drive. The doctors seem very hopeful that I will make it to my second goal 32 weeks, which is 2 weeks away. I am sure praying I do. God is good.

Was back in the hospital last night with pretty regular contractions. They gave me a shot of Tributaline (sp) which wiped out my contractions, but I have felt a few today. I am home as of now, just nervous that I will start contracting again. The doctors told me that I will be in and out of the hospital. Whatever it takes to have a healthy baby!!!!

5-13-08
Well, since I have been contracting so much, my doctor has decided to put me on a tribulatine(sp) pump which a nurse came out to my house today and hooked me up. I have the injection site in my thigh with a little line hooked up to a pager-like device which holds the meds. I have to put med into the cartridge everyday and change my injection site every 3-5 days. I feel very jittery, but this should subside within a couple of days. The meds also make my heart race a little. After my first "larger dose" my rate was 110. If my heart rate is 120 or over I have a button where I can skip the "larger dose" which automatically releases into me every 4 hours. One side effect is that my little guys heart might beat slightly faster. Poor little guy is probably wondering what is going on. The pump is more of a hassle more than anything else, but if a healthy baby is the end result, THIS IS ALL WORTH IT! Hopefully at 34 weeks I can take the pump off. I'm gonna beg my doctor!

5-30-08
Had an appointment today. I get my tributaline pump off in 2 1/2 weeks (when I hit 36 weeks). My doctor thinks that when I get the pump off I will go into labor within 24 to 48 hours with all of the contractions I am having and being dilated to a 1 already. He said he would be very surprised if I go a week without the pump. Sooo I have started to buy stuff for my little guy and get things ready for him, because he will be here probably in 3 weeks!!!! Getting so excited, but still a little nervous! Thank you God!!!

6-13-08
Pump comes off Tuesday!!!! Yeahh! I hope I start labor soon after. The doctor checked me today. I am dilated almost to a 2, my cervix is soft, and the baby is in the head down position. When they measured me, I measured an inch less than last week, my doctor thinks this is because the baby has dropped a little. They also did an ultrasound today an he weighs about 6lbs 11oz. Oh my goodness! If I make it full term he will be about a 9lb baby. My first daughter was 8lbs 11oz, so I guess I just make em big! I have also started my twice a week non stress tests. I love to get to hear his little heartbeat twice a week. Now, I am just looking forward to holding him and him being here!

I can imagine how hard it was to leave without him. They perpare ne for the same thing. philip had issues maintining his body temp and latching on. I had to pump to get my milk to come in but feed him formula alongside anything i could pump so that he was getting enough nutrition. the night before he was discharged he had to do a car seat test.

Your son is adorable and he will be home with you soon!

You daughter is precious as well... We're hoping to make it to at least 36 weeks as well- that's when the stitch comes out!

HOLY CRAP! No drugs - girl, you have my respect! :) Congrats!! I'm glad your baby is doing well. I spent Friday night in the hospital too, but it was because my sciatic nerve was so bad. After writing on the couch for a couple of hours, hubby made me call the midwife, who had me go into L&D because she thought it might be back labor. It wasn't, so they just had a D.O. give me an adjustment (I go to the chiro weekly), stretch me, and put me on vicodin for the pain. :( They told me that I was so tight through my lower back that I would definitely want the epi and to get it early as I will have significantly more pain because of how bad my back is. Labor scares me even more now! On the plus side they did and exam and the baby is really low, but I have not dilated at all, so hopefully I'll make it to July.

I had my little boy on Monday, he was 4 weeks early. his cord was wrapped around his neck twice but he is perfect and we went home together on Wednesday

BabyBennett - Saturday, 21 June
How are things going without the pump? My sciatic nerve is OUT OF CONTROL today. I ended up in L&D per the midwife and they gave me a full chiro. adjustment (I go every Wed.) and ended up putting me on vicodon because the pain is so intense. They also highly recommended an epi as my muscles are so tight that they think my pain might be multiplied during the delivery. I'm nervous about the pain meds, but I guess since they gave them to me, and I only plan on taking them when and if the pain is out of control that it will be ok. I've had multiple surgeries and I have experienced true pain, and this stupid nerve had me on the couch in tears! I felt like such a wimp! On the plus side, I had an exam and I have not dilated at all (she could barely reach my cervix), but made the comment that the baby was very low. At least now I know that I haven't started dilating at all. Curiosity was really getting to me, but my midwife doesn't do regular exams until you are 40 weeks unless you specifically ask for it. In her words, the baby will come when the baby wants to come - you can be dilated for weeks with no baby, or you can go in one afternoon and be closed up tight and have the baby the next morning. :)

EWE that sucks. I had to have only 2 doses of terb on Sun. cause I was contracting too, and it made me feel terrible. I hated it. Well, good luck to you. That's awesome that you made it this far!

JennSever - Thursday, 19 June
its that just somethen....i am having all sorts of dreams that my water breaks and when i wake up NOTHING! i was up until 5am with her moving around all the time. it hurt so bad. i have never made it this far with any of my other pregnancies so i am one miserable human being. plus to add more insult to injury my family doesn't like the names i have picked out for this little girl..i like Cayman Amelia or Emerson McCall nicknames Mia or Emmie...so i am frustrated all around

saraha - Thursday, 19 June
36 weeks is a little early to be delivering. You should give yourself AT LEAST another week. I was in the hosp. contracting every two mins. on Sun. and they gave me terbutaline to stop the ctx. I don't understand why they would not want you to stop contracting. 36 wk. kids don't usually breathe real well.

candace3 - Wednesday, 18 June
Oh, isn't that the way it goes...when you are off the meds, nothing happens...that is sort of what i am afraid of too. I am going to start walking ALOT next week.

I am also having a lot of lower back pain and the pelvis pain. Last night I felt like I had something just sitting on my front bones...it was weird...here it is my 4th baby and I should know what to expect. lol.

My last ultrasound was at 34 weeks and she weighed 4lb 8oz. I will have one more growth check, but I dont know if it is next week or the following...I am going for NSTs 2 times a week now. You are going to have a big boy...my biggest was 6lb 9oz.

Let me know if anything starts to happen!!

JennSever - Wednesday, 18 June
good for you!:) i got checked and i am nothing and it looks like nothing is going to be happening anytime soon! stubborn little girl..plus, i tested pos. for strep b which has never happened before. i cried and cried..don't know why my last baby has to give me so many worries. AND she moves around like its a mansion in there..i don't mean to complain but i am so stinking tired of being pregnant. the stares and sympathetic looks i get are enough to make me bawl my eyes out. i hope these last few wks just fly by...

candace3 - Wednesday, 18 June
Hi!! Just wondering how you are feeling and what is new. I read you get your pump off today...that is exciting....I only have to take the procardia for another week....I also have NST's 2 times a week.....

veroki - Sunday, 15 June
how many units or ml of heparin do they have you on? im on 2ml and i feel this is too much, im getting really nervous they may be overdosing me.
