BIRTH STORY:

I could not have imagined a smoother labor. I woke up at 4:30 in the morning on December 6th feeling crampy so I decided to stay home from work. I didn't think I was in labor though. Luckily one of my good friends is a labor and delivery nurse and lives down the street from me. Once my crampiness turned into contractions, I called her and she came over and checked my cervix and said I was 1 cm dialated and that I might be in labor. I waited it out for about 5 more hours at home and the contractions kept getting worse. I called my friend again and she came over and said I was 3 cm dialated. She is a nurse for my OB and she was able to page him and he told her to send me to the hospital and to page him when I was close to delivering. By the time I got to the hospital I was 4 cm dialated and contracting regularly and able to get an epidural. I got the epidural around 20 min after I got there (around 6:00) and then it was smooth sailing. They checked me a few more times and at 12:00 he was ready to be born. They called the doctor and he was born at 12:29 am. He is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen (don't all parents think that?), and the whole family absolutely loves them with all their hearts. He is truly a blessed child.
