Our Story

My name is Brooke and I am pregnant with our second child. My husband Mike and I have been together for 12 years we were just married 2 1/2 years ago in May 2007. Three months after we were married we found out that we were expecting our first child. Our son Brayden Alexander is 16 months old and we just found out we are expecting for a second time. So here we go again - Round 2! It was quite a surpirse and we are just starting to settle into the idea of a new baby and toddler.

Oct 1st - found out that i had a what is called a missed pregnancy. the baby was measuring close to 9 weeks but did not have a heartbeat. Had to have a D&C Friday October 2nd - recovering emotionally and physically with my husband and son.

August 30th - Found out I was pregnant. After feeling tired all day and telling my husband i needed to take a nap. I realized wait the last time I took a nap in the middle of the day I was pregnant. I was late on my period but had been pretty irregular ever since I had my son. I had remembered having an extra pregnancy test in the bathroom and said what the heck I will take it to prove I am not pregnant. Well sure enough two pink lines flashed in front of me within a min. I was SHOCKED. At the time I was about 6 weeks.

Sept 1 - 1st doc appt confirming the pregnancy

Sept 22nd - first ultrasound scheduled

Pregnancy #1 - Brayden Alexander Watt 9/1/2007 - 5/20/2008

So far the pregancy been very good. Other than the typical morning sickness, preggo brain, and being tired all the time I can't complain. I am so happy to be in the second trimester as I really have started to feel a lot better.

December 25-2007 -We found out we are having a BOY! My husband is thrilled.

December 28, 2007 -Went on a day care tour with grandma. We found a great place for our little boy and couldn't be more excited that he is going to have a family away from home. We were really worried that we wouldn't find something that we would be happy with but can honestly say we are so grateful to have found such an awesome place.

January 3, 2008 - Purchased Nursery Furniture - Baby's Dream in Antique Black

January 4, 2008 -I am feeling really great lately. I read that I would feel this way and didn't believe it. Mom and I went shoping over the Christmas break to start getting things for the new little boy. It was a lot of fun. I have a doctors appt. 1/8 and am looking forward to hear how everything is progressing along. Also, my husband and I are leaving 1/20 for Jamaica for our babymoon trip (didn't know I was pregnant when we booked it but am going to call it a babymoon anyways). I am really looking foward to getting to spending some quality time reaxing together for what might be the last time for a long time.

January 7, 2008 - My husband just called me to let me know that he thinks our little ones (our 2 cats) are ready for their brother to come home. He just got home from work and both of them snuck into the room one was hanging out by the closet and the other one was sprawled out by the window. Our boy cat has been sleeping at the foot of the door to the baby's room for two weeks now.

January 19, 2008 - We are off to Jamaica in the am. It has been snowing here all day which doesn't happen very much here in Atlanta. It is going to be odd to go from the fireplace and snow to the beach and palm trees. I can't wait!

January 26, 2008 - Just got back from Jamaica and had a great time. We just relaxed and hung out by the beach and pool and enjoyed the quiet before the storm. The baby was very active on the trip and we found out that he loves the steel drum band. He was dancing up a storm in there!!

Feb 17, 2008 - We got Brayden's stroller today. His Grandparents ordered it for him and we acted like little kids at Christmas opening the box and inspecting all the pieces.

Feb 18, 2008 -We got the hardwood floors installed in the nursery. Now all of the big stuff is done in the nursery - on to decorating.

Feb 20, 2008 - Mike and I went for an ultrasound today. It was great to see how big little Brayden is getting he is 2 lbs 2 oz. He is so cute and had his foot on his head and fingers in his mouth. I am feeling good but really starting to get big. He is kicking my ribs and that is starting to hurt.

March 4, 2008 - Well the past few weeks have flow by. Both Mike and I have been busy with work and both of us got the flu. In terms of the pregnancy I feel GREAT! If I could just get over this flu I would really be happy. I spent the entire weekend in bed and Mike was on a mission to get stuff done in Brayden's room. He spent the enire weekend in there finishing up projects. He built custom closet organizer for Brayden and it looks AWESOME. He put the furniture in place and it is really coming together (I will post photos soon). It was so cute to see him stand back and look at the room he was so proud of the work he did. He said so is this what my Dad feels like when his finishes something? Boy is it a good feeling. He finished pulling off horrible wall paper, painting, painting the ceiling, flooring, closets now we will start on the decorating. It was bad being stuck in bed this weekend because I found lots of cute little things I want to get off ebay (light covers, drawer knobs, etc).

The shower is in two weeks and we are really excited about that. We are looking forward to catching up with family. Most of our family is in Fort Lauderdale so they haven't seen by growing belly yet. After that we start classes - right now we are trying to get Mike into a Daddy boot camp class but it is full right now.

March 10, 2008 - Had a really great day today. Pretty much spent the entire day rleaxing and pampering myself. I have been so busy lately I haven't taken any time to unwide and relax. I took a long bath, did my nails and a face mask and feel awesome now (well beside the back ache). I am feeling GREAT but really growing and feeling a lot of stretching pains in my belly. I am so excited about hitting the 30 week mark next week and really looking foward to the shower next weekend. Mike continues to work on the nursery and I couldn't be happier with the way it is turning out.

March 15, 2008 - We had our baby shower in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It was great to visit with family and friends but it was HOT about 90 degrees. Brayden got lots of great gifts, Daddy got to hang out with friends and Mommy got to go to the beach. Our very good friends are expecting their first child two weeks before us so we got to go out to a yummy breakfast with them before we left. It was a great weekend.

March 18 - Went to the doctors today and everything looks great. I have to have a csection so we are looking at setting a date. Right now we are looking at May 16 or May 20 and will set a date at our next appt. We get to go for our next ultrasound on April 15th can't wait to see what Brayden is doing in there.

April 15 - Had the ultrasound Brayden is measuring 6lbs 4 oz already and has lots of hair.

May 6th - the fibroid is still blocking his head so we have confirmed that we will need the c-section. He was measuring 7lbs 5 oz will 3 more weeks of growth left to go.

May 15th

We are counting down the days!!! C-section is scheduled for May 20th at 8:15am. Our bags are packed, his clothes are packed an organized, his nursery is all finsihed....we are now just waiting to bring home our little man! I have had a great pregnancy and am really enjoying this time with him.

May 19th

Well we are heading to the hospital at 5am in the morning for our c-section and Brayden should be here at 8am. I thought this day would go by so slow and I wouldn't get any sleep tonight but it flew by and I am so tired. I just wrote a letter to my son which has mad me even more excited to meet him. He is not even here yet but I feel like I already know him it was so much fun to sit down and really spend time letting him know a little about his mommy and daddy and how excited we are that he will be joining our family tomorrow.
