I am 25 years old and expecting my first baby. I have a loving partner who is the absolute best person I could have ever gotten pregnant by(lol.) I am not married, which has been causing problems(I'm a middle school teacher in the conservative south-west)but I cannot wait to hold my little Natalyn, and , at six months pregnant, I am really starting to get excited. l Unfortunately, like most new mothers-to-be, I find something new to worry about almost every day.

Saturday, 22 Dec

I am 30 weeks...only ten more to go! We are currently getting Natalyn `s room ready, and I couldn `t be more excited. I still have weird irrational worries, but I think it `s just a first time pregnancy plus normal pregnancy thing to worry a lot. Everyone in my family is happy I am having a little girl. She will be the first granddaughter.Yay!

i saw your question about spoiling your baby....I took early childhood education in college - and current info and research says you CANNOT spoil your baby within the first 6 months of life. That's not to say that you can't set guidelines and structure for them...but that all the love and attention in the world is not going to spoil them.
hope that helps ;)

Thats odd that they all choose to formula feed. You would think they would know breastfeeding is best....even if it is for a short time, I started with the goal of making it until my little one got teeth. She got them 2 months ago. She showed no intrest in stopping so i just kept going. I figure I will stop sometime over the summer. It s a short time in our life we are giving up our free time. Good job!

You are not weird. I just wrote on the 37-weeker page that I'm not there yet either. It's like we were thinking the same thing at the same time as we posted only a minute apart! :o)

yeah i agree. I'd rather go get him than have him home alone. If we would have went to the hospital, my husband wouldnt have came back until about 3pm...Ethan would have been home all that time with no phone and completely alone. We dont even have neighbors for him to go to since we live out in the middle of nowhere lol I'm now considering getting him one of those kiddie phones to have with him at all times.

170lbs is not bad. I'm 5'6 & already went over the 200 mark. Which really sucks! I've always struggled w/ my weight & can't waited until I can go back to trying to lose the weight & than some.

Sweetie I had preclamsia in my 1st pregnancy. I wasn't swollen, only high blood pressure (it was mild preclamsia) I got induced as soon as I hit the hospital... They gave me medication and all. Maybe because I was having twins and 39 weeks prego (No sense in keeping me prego any longer)... Any way make sure you ask them for any symptoms that you should be aware of to go to the hospital....
Take care.. =)

becca- Yes, they check you down there every week. They are checking to see if you are effaced and dialated to see how much longer. By the time you go to have the baby, you won't have any pride left! LOL part of being preg.

branrene - Friday, 1 Feb
hi. I believe they do check you every week from now on. I have to say, I had my first check yesterday and it really wasn't that bad! I had a different doctor than my normal one, which kind of freaked me out, but the doc wasn't all up in there like when they do a pap. It was quick and painless! Don't worry. :)

I feel the same way but yeah they check every week now and I hate it but it's just one of the many things we have to bare for our little ones I guess. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

i used to think all women couldn't stand going to the gyno/OB but then most women i talk to lately say they don't really have a problem or care either way. i read your comment on the forum and i am with you 100%!!! the exams are supposed to be every week from now on, you are correct. i am NOT looking fwd to it, but its important to check positioning, cervix, etc..but no one says we have to like it. hang in there!! x

I have been back to work now for one month, and pump there every two hours and I have been making like 2oz. more than what he was been eating, so I am sure you will be fine. There is an herbal tea to that helps alot you can get it at most health food stores its called, nursing mom and it has that fenugreek stuff in there that helps , oh and our doc had me drink a beer everynight for a while and it really helps! good Luck!

If you are worried about your milk supply call your doctor and get them to give you a prescription. Trust me it works. I always have more milk in the mornings so I try to pump then and store up milk. Good luck :)

Hey I'm the exact same way. Every sunday night I have a horrible time trying to sleep. I'm sure it's nerves - just knowing that baby is coming and trying to balance that with work. It's been about a month now, every monday I'm dragging my arse. Actually, I'm working from home today b/c I am still overtired from yesterday. I think my co-workers get slightly annoyed that I work from home every now and then, but it's that or quit work early b/c it's the only way I can keep up (by working from home every now and then).

I know! I was walking to my car after being at the gym (since when is 30 minute walk on the treadmill considered exercise?) and I had a coughing fit. I peed. How uncomfortable and embarassing. Thank God I was wearing black pants!

olga83 - Monday, 14 Jan
I got things like that before I got pregnant. I would get them like once a year or less and usually happens in winter when the immune system is more weak. I asked my doctor about it several times and she just told me not to do anything and it will go away. It did. Sometimes it came back. My doctor also told me that it's like a cold sore... So I wouldn't worry about it too much though do tell your OB about it.

mrsj - Monday, 14 Jan
It is very common to get a Bartholins Gland cyst during pregnancy. It sounds exactly like what you are describing. I'm not sure how it is treated, but it is usually just a painful inconvenience and nothing to get too concerned about. Your dr will sort it out.

butterblocksmom - Sunday, 13 Jan
Well, there IS a lot more blood flow in that area when we are pregnant so maybe it is just a blocked duct or something of the sort. Good luck...it might put your mind at ease if you apply a cold compress to see if it is infact swelling.
