I am 25 years old and expecting my first baby. I have a loving partner who is the absolute best person I could have ever gotten pregnant by(lol.) I am not married, which has been causing problems(I'm a middle school teacher in the conservative south-west)but I cannot wait to hold my little Natalyn, and , at six months pregnant, I am really starting to get excited. l Unfortunately, like most new mothers-to-be, I find something new to worry about almost every day.

Saturday, 22 Dec

I am 30 weeks...only ten more to go! We are currently getting Natalyn `s room ready, and I couldn `t be more excited. I still have weird irrational worries, but I think it `s just a first time pregnancy plus normal pregnancy thing to worry a lot. Everyone in my family is happy I am having a little girl. She will be the first granddaughter.Yay!

we did the transition to the cot last night and it was a bit of a process. we put him down at 8.30pm then he screamed on and off for an hour. I had to pick him up and resettle him around 4 times before he eventually went to sleep at 9.45pm. Then he woke at 12.45am, I gave him a dream feed. He then woke an hour later and I thought bugger this and brought him back into bed with us. I think we will just practice getting him to sleep in the cot then take him into bed after the first or second wake up cos he wakes so much! And also put him in for naps during the day. It really is a process isn't it! Today he acted extra clingy too, makes me feel bad!!

hi beccajane, I also co-sleep with Caden and am ready to move him back to his cot, looks like tonights the night! He has been such a bad sleeper in the past but he's getting better now. Let me know how you go with your little one! Good luck :P

My daughter slept with me as a baby and everyone told me to get her out of my bed by 4 months unless I wanted her there until she was about 5. I wish i had listened....she truly was in my bed for 5 years. I would periodically try various techniques to get her back to her own room, but every time she broke me down and I would give in. My son has been sleeping on his own since birth and I wouldn't sleep with him anyway given my fears of suffocating him, but I can also see that he is developing coping methods to fall asleep on his own, which my daughter never had to do. Good luck, I know everyone does what they think is best, so just follow your gut.

hey... i think you did the right thing by not letting that dog near ur baby!!! i would do the same thing! and my hubbys aunt has a dog i dont trust and i dont let him near my baby... even if the dog has never bit someone some dogs get jealous of babies... you never know what could happen

well i don't know what his problem is and he always acts so innocent like he doesn't know what's going on. thinking back, i should have called off the wedding because this stuff has been going on forever. not to go into detail but he has kept tapes of former girlfriends and he would not get rid of them..i had to throw them out..tell me that's love? i don't think so. it's funny too...the girls that he talks to sometimes that he used to know are very concious about it affecting their hubbies but he doesn't ever say well i'm not sure the wife would like it..he just does it regardless.

he says he doesn't tell me things because i get upset. well duh! no kidding. what wife wouldn't? do you think i'm over exaggerating?

i saw your question about spoiling your baby....I took early childhood education in college - and current info and research says you CANNOT spoil your baby within the first 6 months of life. That's not to say that you can't set guidelines and structure for them...but that all the love and attention in the world is not going to spoil them.
hope that helps ;)
