Hi my name is Becky and I found out I was pregnant on November 23rd. Ten years after having our daughter we will now be adding a new addition to the family. It was a very big shock finding out I was pregnant, but I couldn't be happier. My due date is July 31st, 2008. A summer baby!

Saturday, 5 July Hahaha, it's such a relief to know that I'm not alone. I feel bad for thinking such a thing, but really... he doesn't respond to sound at all. I have slammed drawers right in front on my belly, and I get nothing from the little boy. My husband also looked at me like I was crazy and goes, "What? Why??" He doesn't get it. Haha. beckaboo -
Saturday, 5 July Good luck with your delivery :) hayleyredfern -
Friday, 4 July Hi,
My baby also gets hiccups about 5 times a day. Its annoying. xxxxx jrenee -
Thursday, 3 July Wow, so you didn't tear or get cut the first time?? That is awesome - did you do the perinneal massage in preparation? My doctor didn't seem overly knowlegable about it but said they use mineral oil at the hospital, so she recommended trying that. Um, I think I'll continue researching primrose oil, seems a bit more natural. Mineral oil is, after all, a derivitive of petroleum - not great in my opinion. I guess we'll have to start the massaging process around week 34, but I need to confirm that too, and still hoping my husband is willing to help out and it won't be terribly awkward! dasha -
Thursday, 3 July Good for you for the toenail effort! I tried a week and a half ago, and swore "never again"...my tummy hurt the whole day after that, from being squished in two trying to get close enough to my feet....so yesterday went for a pedi, and a nice french manicure on the tootsies, and it feels so much better. Bravo to you for even attempting it at this point! jrenee -
Wednesday, 2 July Very cool. I'll see what my OB says, I go to see her tomorrow. I definitely want to do anything that will allow me to stretch instead of tearing or being cut!!! moopster -
Tuesday, 1 July definitely check with your dr. or midwife about thevenin primrose. i didn't start it until 37 weeks--1 1500 mg. in the morning and 1 at night by mouth, as well as perineal massage twice daily with the oil squeezed out of the capsule. but we started it because my cervix wasn't softening at all and my baby is estimated to be at between 11-13 pounds by the due date. my doctor would not have advised it that early otherwise. jrenee -
Tuesday, 1 July Does your OB know you're doing this and is she/he okay with it? I go for my next visit on Thursday, I'm curious what my Dr. recommends... mjeans -
Tuesday, 1 July Thanks! We're excited to meet him...not long now!!! jrenee -
Monday, 30 June Thanks for opening the topic of the primrose oil. I'm in week 32 and getting ready to start thinking about this. I've gotten a lot out of the other women's comments. Have you started using it? I'm going to wait until week 34 then the plan is to also try the "message" with my husband's help... we'll see! sunshine78 -
Monday, 30 June no, none of them gave me a hard time, they all said they understood and it would be taken care of. i was so grateful, one less thing to worry about. mumofsix -
Monday, 30 June At the moment I take 2 EPO orally. When I get to 34 weeks I keep doing that but at night you can insert one or two vaginally. The coating just disolves. You may want to wear a panty shield though as it can leak out a bit. The closer to the cervix the better. You can also squeeze out the oil and rub on the cervix if you really want to. 1stbabymom -
Monday, 30 June You can use the primrose orally and you'll get some effects. You can also use it vaginally. Best recommendation for vaginally is at night before bed so that it has time to dissolve through the night. A friend used it and swears by it. It's on my list to get at the store this week. Good Luck! MonkeyBump -
Monday, 30 June if you look at mumofsix's page she has a blog on primrose oil. angelbabies14 -
Monday, 30 June DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE HELPED YOU OUT BUT I WAS TOLD BY MY MIDWIFE TO TAKE 1 500MG SOFT GEL ORALLY 3X PER DAY AND WAIT TIL WEEK 38 TO INSERT THEM BY POKING A HOLE FIRST THEN PUSH UP AGAINST CERVIX RIGHT BEFORE BED SO IT STAYS IN PLACE WHILE YOU SLEEP. thisonesaboy -
Monday, 30 June I read on a website you could insert it..do it at night right before you lay down...I did insert two once..and some of it kind of leaked out while I slept. WAIT UNTIL YOUR 37 WEEKS to put it inside of you. nicole1stchild -
Monday, 30 June i have been taking primrose oil capsules till since i was 34 weeks i think like a week now maybe a little more! i couldnt find the 500mg pills only the 1000 mg pills i have read that u take 2 500mg pills a day until 37 wks then you insert 1 or 2 in you. i am scared to put them in me until full term jus afraid my baby might actually decide to come and i dont know what i would do if i did and she did come and her lungs were not developed and i couldnt take her home. i would feel so bad. so i am just gonna avoid that what if right now. i am goin to start maybe 3 or 4 days before i turn 37wks. i really am curious and cant wait till tuesday because that is my first vaginal exam and i am eager to see if i am soften. or maybe even dialated!! good luck have you decided how you are goin to take them? Monday, 30 June According to my herbalist, it's one by mouth and one up the... every four hours. Pierce the capsule before inserting. It can take up to a week or more. Also it only softens the cervixes, it won't start labor if your body isn't ready for it to happen. beckaboo -
Monday, 30 June I would leave the oil alone, be patient and let nature take its course :)
Good Luck
