Hi! I am pregnant for the second time, I have a son who is nearly 5. Feeling really excited!!

16 Jan 2008

Well im now in week 14! It seems to have gone so fast!! I have been really lucky this time round cos when i had Jasper i was sick the whole way through! I definatley have a tummy now and it has been hard to do my top button of my jeans up! It is alot bigger than last time at 14 weeks.
The only thing is I have been eating lots!! And i feel like a pig! Just have to try and make it healthy food at least. I have my next scan on the 21st Feb and i think we will find out if its a boy or girl.

7 March 2008

Im now in week 21, i cant believe that im now over halfway!! I am feeling my little boy moving all the time, it seems he is constantly on my bladder or kicking it! I have been going to pregnancy yoga and it has been really great for my body! I have a work friend who is due on the same day as me so we have been going to the classes together. Its really great having someone to be pregnant with, but im sure we are boring the hell out of the whole office... I also found out this week that one of my close friends is pregnant, she is four weeks. We had said we would try for our second child around the same time, so its really great now that we can share this experience together. I have no ideas about names yet. I want one that isnt too common, boys names are so hard!! We are also having a heat wave at the moment it has been like 35 degrees plus for the last week!! Hopefully it gets cooler soon, as we dont have a great airconditioner...

24 March 2008 - Week 24

16 Weeks to go! Yipee!! Im feeling pretty good still, i am really lucky that i didnt get morning sickness and some of the other horrible symptoms of being pregnant this time round! I have been looking at prams lately. I really want to get a good one this time around that will last us. Last time we went through 3 crappy ones. Shannon (my partner) really wants to get a 3 wheeler, so im looking into them. I want one that comes with the bassinet attachment. I havent really bought anything yet, so i started looking on ebay to start the collection.

Im starting to really look forward to going on maternity leave and getting my stuff together. I have a contract til 30 June, but approx 5 weeks annual leave, so not sure if i will take that just before i go, or wait till after i have the baby, so i will have my income for a few weeks. Its so hard!! At the moment I am only working a four day week, so i have friday to shop and clean and go to yoga.

My son Jasper is really excited, he cant wait to meet his little bro. He wants to call him Jasper2 and he can be Jasper1. Ha if only it was that easy to name someone for life!!

We also had some bad news this week, my friend who was 4 weeks lost her baby. It was really upsetting, she is really strong though, and is going to start trying again soon. So wish her luck!

7 April 2008 - 26 Weeks

So I have started buying stuff! I got my pram a couple of weeks ago, I got a really good deal at toysrus and saved $330 on a pram with a bassinet attachment and toddler seat. I ended up getting it for $300. I have also started buying baby clothes on ebay to get the collection up.

Im still feeling good, besides getting a bit of heartburn at nights and under my ribs are starting to hurt, Sitting at a desk all probably doesnt help! I have also had a few cramps, one was soooo bad that i struggled to walk on that leg for days!! I had my first appt since my 20 week scan and found out i have a low-lying placentor, but there is a pretty good chance that it could move up and im really crossing my fingers, cos i really want to push this baby out. But, what ever happens, happens, and i really dont end up feeling depressed and down because the labour didnt turn out how i wanted it to...I need to have an open mind.
I have put on about 5kg so far, and apparently look like i have a basketball up my top!! I am going through a mega sweets stage (hopefully a stage!) and cannot stop eating ice-cream and chocolate.

I am really looking forward to cuddling my little baby, i am getting so excited!! We have one name that we like so far, but still not sure. I reckon i need to hit up baby name websites!

14 June 2008 - 36 Weeks

Ok so not too much longer. I have definatley started having pregnancy aches and pains all over. It hasnt helped that i have had the flu for 6 days. It has made me sooooo rundown, i even slept in til mid-day today which is unusual for me, I hate sleeping in too late!! I am so ready to have this baby NOW!!

I have started packing my bag to take to the hospital and wanting to have everything in order incase he comes early. I havent had much nesting time yet, as i still have a week of work left, and hopefully it will kick in then and i can have a huge clean up. My pelvis has been feeling better, but now my lower back is hurting and i have swapped to an exercise ball to sit on at work instead of my office chair and i think that it is helping. Otherwise everything else has been good and we are just counting down the days.

Jasper wants to come to the birth, which we are excited about. Hopefully it wont freak him out too much. He has seen pics and knows how it all works and just wants to be there for me. My friend is also coming who is studying midwifery to be my support person, so shannon can stay with jasper and they can hang out or do whatever they want and can take him out if it all becomes too much.

Yippeeeee not much longer!!!!!!!!!!

If it plays on you mind, i would ring you doctor & ask, just so you feel better about it..

You actually have to have the antibiotics at least 4 hours prior to your delivery and thats for the last dose or it doesn't do any good. It takes that long to get into your system and be effective.

goodmorning! dont worry about the test coming back pos hun, my doc told me it was not a big deal and that they just put the antibiotic into your intraveinous. unfortunately yhey have to do it at the time of birth not before as it doesnt work any other way. youll be great! not long now! yay!

I tested strep b positive last year and this year. My doc told me last time as soon as my water broke to come in for meds. It was given to me through IV but you are supposed to have 2 doses worth. This time because it's a c-section they said they would give it to me before I go into the OR. I hope this helps you out.

Did they not tell you what would be the process now? Maybe ask you hospital, what they usually do, some may be a little more picky than others.. Maybe ask you hospital if they have cordless monitors so you can still move around if you do need to be hooked up. Good luck..

I also had something similar to what you describe, the vaginal pains, they came and went-- mine were sharp- lasting a min. or two then subsiding- they were like shooting from my cervix downward through-- Nurse said it may have been the baby pushing down on the cervix, or kicking it or laying on it a certain way.. I have also had pains shooting down and into my groin muscles, which is more what they call pelvic floor pain from the weight gained and baby... I wouldnt worry too much, just take it easy and try to keep those feet up!!!
Blessings to you and baby!!!! I am adding you to my friends list!!! ;o)
