I am very excited to be pregnant with my first child. I am totally in love with midwifery and am planning to birth naturally at a local Christian birthing center. I will continue my education as a nurse and hope to some day be a Certfied Nurse Midwife. My husband is the most supportive man in the world, he is so into the pregnancy. He goes to every appointment with me and will be attending Bradley Method Classes in the next few weeks. He loves to touch by belly to feel the baby kick. I am so blessed to have a wonderful support group around me that encourages my desires to give birth naturally, use cloth diapers and breastfeed exclusively.
So far the pregnancy has gone well. Except for some major morning sickness (all day sickness) which I was hospitalized twice for IV's. Everything else is going good. The morning sickness has gotten a little better but is unfortunately still here, even at 28 weeks! I've only gained 10 lbs so far, I lost 15 in the 1st trimester so I still have a few more lbs to make up. At least now I can keep food down, perfect for the holidays!!!
We found out we are having a GIRL! We are both so excited. Her name is Juliana Grace. My husband it totally in love, he can't wait for her to be here. He's been so busy with getting the house ready, I think he's gotten the nesting instinct. Her nursery is painted in green and yellow, we are doing a frog theme with other swamp animals. We still need to put together her crib and basinett and then the room will feel more like a nursery. I am having a couples luau themed shower in February, I'm so excited!
I welcome any advice you may have for a 'rookie" like me!

very much so. We had been trying for almost a year and I was starting to think something was wrong. My cycles were pretty weird so we were getting the timing wrong. I went out and bought an ovulation predictor kit and we got pregnant on the second try! | |
| What was your first reaction?: | I couldn't believe it, after so many months of getting BFN I was very shocked. The night before I found out I was sure that I was getting my period, I was having all the symptoms of crampiness and sore boobs. I had a complete meltdown. The next morning I thought well I take a test for the heck of it, it was a BFP! I took 2 more later that day to make sure. | |
