Hello,

I'm in my first trimester and as excited as ever. This is the first baby for me and my wonderful husband. We were trying for 9 months straight and just when I started panicking and thinking I was too young and didn't have what it took to be a mom I went to the dr.'s and got stocked up on birth control. I waited for my monthly burden to come along and never did and finally after 10 months of not being on birth control I got pregnant when I least suspected it.

I'm not that far a long and I know the chances of anything bad happening are apparently 1 in 5 until I pass the three month mark but i'm so excited I want to shout it out to the world. I even tell random people on the TTC or in elevators. LoL.... I know many people who didn't fall in love with their baby's until they were far a long or even born but I'm crazy about mine.... I sing in bed to it... I talk to it, I rub my belly all the time (and it's not even that big yet!!). I have no idea what gender it is because it is too soon but I'll know on my January 7th visit when I'll be in my third trimester.

I'm new to the site but so far I love love love it!!!!! I can't wait to chat with other pregnant women and get to know them too!!!!!!

i read your question about breastfeeding and smoking....i totally understand. i quit smoking for both of my pregnancies and started smoking 3 weeks after my first was born, and every once in a while i smoke now (my daughter is 10 weeks old). I have been told as well that it's better to smoke and breastfeed than not breastfeed. The benefits outweigh the risks. I love my kids ALOT but sometimes the stress gets to me. Do what you feel comfortable with.

Oh I wish I could but he's deployed and I don't want to put any extra stress on him, which this definitely would cause he so wanted me to have a good shower since he isn't going to be back till baby is 2 mths...I'm thinking I'm gonna tell him next time they ask us for money or something like that, put my foot down and tell him they gonna get less than they want cause I have no idea what they going to do with it, just makes me more determined to never have to ask my kids for anything like that!

Ha! Me too. He tells me that I'm beautiful, but you know.. I don't feel it. That's what it's all about is how you feel. Oh well.. it's all for a great cause. But, yes.. not looking forward to after the baby is born, and I"m left with so much fat. Are you gonna nurse? I kn ow they say that you can drop pounds like crazy that way!

singinghide - Tuesday, 22 April
Don't worry too much- I've gained 37 pounds, and I'm a week behind you :( I started about 10 pounds underweight, but can't seem to stop the constant gaining! I'm hungry and eat all the time, so I'm sure that's not helping! Hang in there!! It will be sooo worth it in the end!!!

Thank you for your comment, That's such a cute idea! I was thinking though, we Baptise our babies very quickly and have a to-do afterwards so I guess those that support us there do celebrate the baby. I guess I was feeling like I was missing something. But a diaper party( well call them Nappies over here) is a lovely idea. Thank you:-)

It's strictly your choice luv on whether you circumcise your son. You cannot base your decision on anyone else per se. My hubby and I had our son circumcised, but our faith required it. Regardless of that, I would have had it done knowing the pros and cons of it. Just do your research and talk it over with your hubby. I had a friend back when I was 18 years old who was also the same age who told me he wishes his parents would have circumcised him as a baby. And now, I work with a guy, in his mid to late 20s who IS NOT circumcised who has had NO problems what so ever...so you see, it just depends. Best to you and good luck!

Thank you for your kind and understanding words..I thought I was crazy for a moment..because all of his friends said (well you know how spanish moms are, we're both hispanic) and i thought that was the most idiotic comment ever. Wrong is wrong no matter what ethnicity you are! But anyway, how is your pregnancy going so far?

kellnjoelplusone - Thursday, 20 Mar
thanks shes not realy a monster but she is however she is a selfish, inconsiderate, controling, manipulitive carzy lady lol

alex76 - Thursday, 20 Mar
Lol no dont worry honestly. I know exactly how it is. I have stopped complaining to my hubby because, same as you, I see it starting to upset him. I hate lateness as well, yesterday my MIL was supposed to be here at 9 to take our daughter out for a couple of hours and she saunters in at 10 arrgggghhhhh, just say 10!!!!!!!!

alex76 - Thursday, 20 Mar
Lol you're MIL sounds nuts. When I hear stories like that, I realise mines aint so bad after all. Sounds like she's jealous big time of you. You're obviously the apple of you're partner's eye and she can't handle it basically. Plus she sounds like she likes causing a scene just for the sake of it. No wonder you don't want to 'hang out' with her. How embarrassing would she be? lol

TiffyW - Wednesday, 19 Mar
Baby will do just fine regardless :)

alex76 - Wednesday, 19 Mar
My MIL is alright actually but she has 3 sons who lost their Dad in a car accident when my hubby was 8. She has brought them up well but typical Mom and her sons she has done everything for them. I can understand a bit because I think she fears losing them. But she's a different generation. If she knows I'm on my own she doesnt offer to help me out with our daughter but if my hubby's on his own she's over in a shot.I can earn more than my hubby and we discussed when the next baby comes if I should work full time and he changes his job. The minute he mentioned this she was like 'oh no he loves his job you should just work part time!' I keep telling her childcare is extortionate. Some of the stories on here make me feel lucky though. What's your problem?

alex76 - Wednesday, 19 Mar
Loving your comment in the MIL page, was peeing myself laughing, you were spot on. x
