Hey everyone!

I am 17 weeks and 3 days preggers!

I have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.

I am 29 and this is my 3rd pregnancy.

I want 4 in total but we will see what happens!

Hope everyone is enjoying their pregnancies!

Well so far things are going great! The baby is growing well!
I had my u/s on monday evening but the umbilical cord was in the way so I didnt find out the gender!

The kids both came in to see their new sibling inside mommy's belly!

January 4, 2008

I had a follow up appt today and Im only up 2 lbs I swear I thought at least 10 lol.

I get another U/S on Tuesday so hopefully this time the umbilical cord will be out of the way!

Also they need to do the heart measurements because the baby was not in a good position for the technician last time!

I toilet trained Isaiah in the summer, too. It was so easy to just let him run in the backyard where messes wouldn't matter! I agree, training will be difficult before the baby comes. Too hard to keep up. I don't know how you handle pregnancy with two little ones! I can barely keep up with my older children!

thanks a lot.. why did ur friend have problems conceiving? well as far as i know i dont have any fertility issues and i would hope i dont... i mean i am only 23 and i have had kids in 2004 i dont have them with me but i have twin girls and i know i am able to carry so i sometimes think it is my husbands age but i dont know i am just going to keep on keepin on and see what happens.

Tried the castor oil again b/c it worked so well last time. I swear all I did was poop all day!! Gross, I know. Oh, well. She'll come when she's ready I guess!

LOL!!! Yes, I know it affects kids...My older children are ok, but my 4 year old has been near impossible! He's been backtalking, demanding, and as you said, whiney and clingy. He's been toilet trained for two years, but he has been having "accidents" lately. It gets frustrating having to clean up cat AND kid urine! LOL!
Are your kids excited about having a new sibling?

I see you wrote that your hands hurt, so does mine. Mostly in the joints but its very uncomfortable! Do you have any idea why they hurt? I'm thinking water retention but I dont understand why it would make the fingers hurt..hmmm?

about the cord prolapse you wrote about...I was talking to my doc about that yesterday and she said in all her practice since 1987 she's only seen that happen once! (where the water breaks and the cord slips out of the vagina) I guess your doc thinks you are at risk for this but apparently it's very very rare so don't let that worry you.

You probably are just itchy from dry or stretching skin. If you had PUPPPS you would know it! Red blistery looking bumps- INTENSE itching- like 1000 times worse than mosquito bites. I had it with my 2nd baby and it was HELL!

I found this on this site...worth looking at, as it could cause complications for the baby.

CASTOR OIL: Castor oil is a very strong laxative that will cause you to have a bowel movement. It works to cause intestinal spasms that can lead to cramping and contractions. Once the bowels have been stimulated, contractions can begin. Some women have benefited from the use of castor oil and others have noticed no change in their labors. To use castor oil, you can take 1-4 ounces of castor oil mixed with orange juice. Castor oil is very oily, has an awful taste and has been known to cause the baby to have a bowel movement in utero (meconium) before its born, which could lead to respiratory distress. Diarrhea can also become quite extreme, which could lead to maternal dehydration.

hi bigmommat re: your castor oil question - I dont know from personal experiance but my midwives have told me that the cramps caused by castor oil are not labour pains but diarreah(?spelling) x - just adding this onto the message - if you do try it and it works let me know :-)

I was just 38 weeks, and only 1cm dialated. I'm seriously thinking about doing it again, but I live an hour away from the hospital, and I'm kind of afraid I'll give birth on the highway. Good luck! Let me know if it works!

Worked with my last one...real quick. I took 2oz in OJ and just had diarrhea and contractons. Then they stopped. I took two more oz in OJ, and had diarrhea a couple of more times, then constant contractions. This all started at around 10:30pm. We got to the hospital at 12:30am, and she was born at 12:54. No epidural for me!! Worked great!

I am having abdomen cramping off and on w/off and on lower back pain -20min apart. These are not contractions b/c they don't hurt that bad. Does you know what this could be? Is the baby just stretching or is my water about to break?
