Hi everyone! I'm now nearing the end of week sixteen and feeling very well indeed. I still get very tired but nowhere near as badly as before, and I'm getting used to my new shape. Since I last wrote, I've had my first scan (see photos) which was unbelievably brilliant, the baby was hiccuping and rolling around - very cute! So overwhelming though, I just never imagined how I would feel seeing him/her for the first time. This morning I had my quad test, for downs syndrome, and I find out within a week what the chances are. We still haven't decided yet whether we want to have the amniocentesis test if I'm high risk - it's a tough one. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm going on holiday a week tomorrow, I can't wait, needing a break from the work on the house. All of our family and friends are so excited and very supportive of our situation, it's really lovely to share our news now. I am starting to get a little bump now, although I still don't really look pregnant. I'm hoping that means that I won't be huge by the end, but I think that's just wishful thinking!

Thanks for reading, I hope you're all well and enjoying things as much as I am right now.

xx

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to look at my page. I'm currently in week eleven and waiting for my first scan, on May 16th, and also for the first trimester to be over! Having said that, the last 11 weeks have gone as well as I could have wished for, and I'm loving being pregnant.

My dp and I have been together for six years, I'm 27, he's 36, and we're right in the middle of renovating our house, got to get it finished before November!

One thing I'm loving at the moment is that we have our own little secret, shared just between us, we're cherishing it, as it won't be just ours for much longer. I'm also looking forward to telling our family and friends, everyone will be really excited for us I hope!

My symptoms are now easing off, I've been lucky enough not to have been sick, although from weeks 6-10 I felt nauseous from about 11am till 6pm. Other than that it's just been sorre bb's and feeling exceptionally tired, I honestly don't know how all of you expectant mums out there are managing to hold down jobs, hats off to you. I work from home so find it easy to take a nap when I need it, I think I'm very lucky.

It would be great to hear from any nearly mums out there, I love this site, everyone is so so kind and helpful, I don't know whether I would have kept sane this long without you!

That's all for now I think. Happy thoughts to everyone x x x

How`s my pregnancy doing?

hi, thanks for your comments. It's a hard decision to make. No one in my family thinks i should go and Adam really doesn't want me to so i'm feeling a bit pressured to stay here. However i am getting more and more anxious about the impending birth and leaving the house even to go to the shops incase i go into labour so maybe for my own sanity and stress levels i should stay home! hope your well, you must have a scan coming up soon?

thanks for your reply. i have weighed 60kg since week 10, however i lost 5kg between weeks 7 and 10 due to sickness so i guess my body has sort of evened out. to be honest i dont care how much i put on as long as i can get it back off lol......just dreading stretch marks tho!!!! i have nightmares about theml lol...your weight gain sounds average according to what books and stuff say so i wouldnt worry. so do u have a round bupm yet? and do u know the sex?? claire x x x

your weight gain is pretty good, heck it's less than mine I'v gained 12 pounds and my OB says thats just fine, by the time you give birth you could have gained from 25 to 35 pounds depending on your prebaby weight, it's not uncommon for some women to gain as much as 40 pounds with a single birth, I'm sure your gonna be just fine, take care of baby!

Hi there. I'm 36 weeks now, i've got an appointment with the midwife 2moro afternoon so hopefully all will be good, i'll let you know. Will u find out the sex of your baby? I love the name James. It will be our babies middle name if we have a boy (it's my grandad and dads middle name and my brothers first name too)!

I spent about £200 on maternity clothes in Next and another £50 maybe in other shops. I regret getting the stuff from next though as it got too small very quickly and it's a bit over priced. I'd say just go to primark for tops and get bigger sizes (thats what i've done and they fit fine and they're cheap!) Also Peacocks, New look and Dorethy Perkins are all more reasonably priced.

I go swimmingand to aquanatal classes, i don't know if you have them near you but if you do i really reccomend going as they're great fun, you meet other mums to be and you keep fit! Also try and go for a short walk everyday, i feel so much better when i've had fresh air!

thank you for your kind comments. It's nice to hear as everyone in my family just calls me fatty, preggo, unit and tellytubby!! It's so hard to choose a name isn't it? I love both Freya and Esme so we'll just have to see if it is a girl which suits her best! I prefer Joseph for a boy but my boyfriend likes Seth and Freddie so we'll have to see again which suits it! i've added you as a friend so hope we can chat over this website, it's great isn't it!
