Hi I am Charlotte. I live in London, Uk with my boyfriend of 7 years and we are expecting our first child in July 2008. We are so excited and utterly thrilled to know we will soon be parents to Baby Zacharia.

December 3rd 2007:

Had a dating Ultrasound at the hospital today, however I am only 5 weeks pregnant and all the dr could see was the sac implanted in my uterus. He has asked me to come back in 2 weeks when he will be able to see more. Also he spotted some liquid under my womb which he said wasn't serious but would keep an eye on. I left the hospital very dissappointed and already counting the days til the 17th december.

December 17th 2007:

Went for my second ultrasound.......OH MY GOD how amazing, we could see the little heart beating and the outline of a very diddy baby, It was so overwelming. It made it all so real and so so exciting. I can't actually beleive that we have made a little person at last. i don't think I have ever been as happy as I was seeing the heart beating. 'Bump' is 12mm long and we are 7 weeks 4 days pregnant and due on the 31st July 2008. The liguid that was sitting under my womb has also dissapeared so I relaxed a bit more as that was concerning me. Got to come back for another scan at 12 weeks. However my mum works at the U/S dept in the hospital and says we go back for another one whenever we want to see the little one.....

December 27th 2007:

Hit 9 weeks today, only 3 more weeks til we get to the 12 week milestone. Feel pretty anxious actually to get to this point of the pregnancy. Just had a lovely Christmas, very tired though and have been sleeping 10 hours each day compared to my norm of only 6 hours max sleep a night, I am shattered! Got our first baby present this Chritmas, a diddy pair of socks, I can't believe we will have a child to fill those tiny socks in 7 months! The sickness feeling is still there in the morning although it is slightly better, Ginger biscuits are still my new best friend! Gonna find out next week when my next scan is as still not heard from the antenatel dept at the hospital.

January 6th 2008

Feeling much more normal at the moment, which concerned me loads yesterday I got myself all panicky and anxious think that something was wrong!!! But it was me just being paranoid!!!! My sickness has gone and only comes back when I really need to eat, my bb's are still sore but are not as bad as they were, at least I can sleep now!!! My skin however looks as if I am 12 again.... am fortunate usually to have clear skin but oh no not now!!!! Having little scratching twinges but people on here and friends who have been through this have assured me that it is normal 'expanding' twinges ha ha. Speaking of expanding my tummy is gettign larger, not by much, but you can now tell I am in the early stages of pregnancy and I love it, it makes it seem real seeing something there.... Have my next appt to meet the midwife and have another scan on the 16th Jan so I am counting the days til I can see our little one again.

January 16th 2008

Had my 12 week scan today, I am in love!!! The baby was moving so much. It kept covering it's eyes and the lady was making me cough so it would uncover them. Then it done a somersault and was floating upside down!!!! When we finally got it to stay still to have it's picture taken it turned it's back to us and was showing off it's spine!! It was amazing and I am so in love with the baby already. We managed to get some really good pics of it and MUm (who works at the hospital) has saved all the pics so far and is going to prduce one big picture of the baby for us when it is born. The lady made sure all autonatomy was in the right place and heart was beating fine and measured it. It was 55.5mm long and is 12 weeks 2 days old so my EDD has come forward 3 days. I am on cloud now and am now so so excited to be a mum in July. My 20 week scan is booked for 18th March although I will be 21 weeks by then. But I am sure Mum will let me go up before that to have another look at little bubba before then.

February 1st 2008

Had a very confusing morning this morning, went to meet my mid wife (Claire) at the birth centre today. We went through all my notes and how I was feeling and she was explaining what was going to hapeen and all the normal stuff really. She then said she was going to listen tot he heart beat of the baby, I was so excite, but when she was feeling my tummy for the uterus she said that my uterus was very high and she thought I was actually further gone than we thought (bear in mind she had already put my dates forward by 2 days to the 26th July) But she wanted to get a second opinion by a more experienced colleague. Before another midwife came in though we got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time, it was amazing I was so overwelmed it was at 153bpm. So another Midwife came in and she felt and she thought I was 18 to 20 weeks pregnant rather than 15!!!! Relief, happiness, panic,.......... She said due to me being able to already feel the baby and the uteus being high and an exceptionally clear scan at '12 weeks' it seemed i was but another dating scan is needed to clarify. So had to have all my tests I should have had done already if I was 20 weeks this morning and Claire is trying to get my 20 week scan (booked for March 18) bought forward. My due date if I am further gone is 14th June!! We will have to wait and see....... Gonna see if my mum can scan me before that to find out sooner cos not knowing where I am now is horrid!!!

February 2nd 2008

Had a friends mum who is a midwife have a check on my uterus, she said it was high but my body is small so thinks i am due on the 28 July rather than the 14th June! Got another dating scan on the 11th Feb so will be able to get a conclusive answer then and also get to see baby bump again :)

Have sold my baby unfriendly car today also and bought a 5 door car for me and bump. One small change needed for our new lives as mummy and daddy... it is all so exciting.... x x

February 11th 2008

Went for another dating scan today, I am exactly 16 weeks so after all the confusion I am back to 28th July. Saw little bubba again it was active not as active as before. All it's fingers and toes were so clear this time it was amazing. The sonographer told me that he knew the sex of it and did I want to know, I said I didn't but really wanted to know.... Chris couldn't come with me today as he had to go into work early he would have gone mad if I found out.... It was wierd knowing that the man knew what I was having but I didn't. He said my placenta and all the babies autonomy were in perfect health and the baby has developed perfectly... I am very proud of myself :) Next appt is my 20 week scan (although i will ne 21 weeks) on March 18th 2007.... it seems like ages away!

February 29th 2008

Thought I had better update my page as I haven't done so for ages! All is really well at the moment I am 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant now and absolutely loving it. My tummy popped out (only a little) the last 2 days so I finally look early stages pregnant! Still in my normal clothes although the button do not do up at the top and bump bands are needed to keep them from falling to my ankles!!!! Baby Zacharia is very active today. I have been feeling the baby move since around 14 weeks but today it has been all day little kicks and movements. He/She has a routine every evening at around 9.30 to 10pm when Chris and I are relaxing it will move around for about 10 mins frantically. I love the little baby so much already. Have started buying the nursery stuff now so it is all making it so much more real and so so exciting. Bought a doppler too but it doens't work until you are at least 21 weeks pregnant so I will have to wait patiently for another 2 weeks then I will be able to hear my little one daily. Only 18days left til my next U/S and only 10 days to I have halfway though. Still am pinching myself that this miracle is happening to me.

Had the most amazing experience last night, my first kick felt OUTSIDE the stomach... I was sitting reading when I felt the baby move so I prodded where it moved and the little one kicked me back, I was in disbelief so prodded again harder and a definate heel kicked my hand back!!! I was screaming I was so amazed and happy. I have seen and heard the baby and felt it inside but now actually felt its tiny foot with my hand!!! I am so in love x x

April 3rd 2008

Well haven't updated my page for a while, not a lot has been happening although the baby's movements are so much stronger now and can be seen on the outside by my tummy moving especially when I am in the bath! Had a very emotional few days, my hormones are everywhere. On Monday I went to the hospital as I am allergic to anaesthetic and they need to do some tests on me to determine which anaesthetic it is and what to use if anything (touch wood) happens to me during childbirth and I need a C Section. Not looking forward to that at all but best I find out now. Anyway heard the baby's heartbeat it was at 160bpm.... is that fast? boy or girl? No I really don't want to know.... honestly I can wait for the surprise.... but let me know what you think on this old wives tale of a faster beat is a girl!! he he. Anyway woke up yesterday morning anf my god I had grown so much over night!!!! Someone said that it would happen but I really didn't think that they literally meant over night. I was so shocked I was crying hysterically as I had no work clothes to wear and I had a really inportant meeting with Price Water Cooperhouse to discuss me doing some accounts work for them!!!!! Shopping is on the agenda for this weekend.....

Had an eventful weekend. Went out on friday night for dinner and after I had eaten and we were waiting for the bill, I felt all funny so I stood up to go to the bathrooms and walked across the floor of the restaurant and collapsed and fainted!!!! Luckily a lady was beside me who caught me as it could have been even worse than it was as it was slate flooring and I fell backwards!!!! But she caught me mid fall and broke my fall. The ambulance came and they took me to a hospital in London (not my hosptial) and they wired me up to machines to check my blood pressure, pulse, any surges in the uterus, the baby's heartbeat, but they couldn't find the babies heart beat for a whole ten mins and while she was looking she was asking how far is my hospital from where we were!!!! I have NEVER been so scared in my life!!!! Chris and I were petrified! Then we heard it, the baby was hiding!! Thank god! Both of us were kept under observation then allowed home and told to rest. I know I have been over doing it but thought I could handle it but I now know that I need to slow down and think of me and the baby first cos I never want to go through that again!!!! Still feel very shaken by it all

The next day we went for our 4D scan!!!! WOW As soon as the little one came on the scan Chris and I were giggling it is the spitting image of Chris as a baby and it is so amazing that you can see that from a scan!! We had 40 mins watching the baby play with its toes, yawn and move around before it snuggled next to mummys side and fell asleep. It has it's eyes open the whole time which the sonographer was amazed at as they usually only have them open for 5-10 mins! We came out with 36 pics and a DVD for us to keep and show the family. A truly amazing experience and well worth it and seeing how gorgeous our baby is, has made me fall even more in love with him/her.
