Bryce and I have only been together 6 months, but we discovered we'd made a Valentines baby! ;) We met when I was 13 and he was 16. We dated only 2 months but he was my first kiss. We met again 15 years later and the magic is still there. And now he's the father of my first baby. We're not married but babies don't care whether or not their parents are married, so our little one is on the way! It's all a bit crazy as it wasn't planned, but like is full of crazy moments...

Bryce is a really caring, loving person and I think he'll be an absolutely amazing father. I'm nervous myself about being a mother as I don't believe my mother was a good example of how to raise a child so it'll be a new learning curve for me. We both live in Auckland, New Zealand which is a great place to bring up children, as our lifestyle is very active and outdoors oriented.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I tested had Group B strep with this last pregnancy and the only difference in my delivery was they needed to give me antibiotics while i was in labor to prevent me from passing it to my little guy but other than that nothing was really different they don't like to break your water or strip your membranes until you've had the antibitoics but in my case i didn't get the full dose of antibiotics b4 they had to break my water so i had to stay and extra day in the hospital to wait for my little guys blood work to come back and clear him of any infection... I hope that helps answer your question....

They just give you IV antibiotics when you go into labor. Nothing too serious unless you don't get treatment for it. The antibiotics will take care of everything. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! ;)

Hi There....I'm due on Saturday with my second baby and I have tested postive for Group B Strep (I didn't with my first baby) From my understanding it's not a big deal. They will hook you up to antibiotics in the early stages of labor and will want to get two doses into your sytem before your baby comes out. This will ensure that you will have no bacteria to pass onto the baby. I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!!

step b is common, don't worry about it I delievered two HEALTHY children and am a carrier of it! Just make sure you get antibocitacs in your system..

Strep B is commen in 35% of pregnant women, and will be treated before of during labor of the baby. You usually get a test at 36 weeks, but looks like your Dr. has done one early, so honostly I wouldn't worry about it they caught it and it will be under control. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

I had group b strep with my last pregnancy and they just treated me with antibiotics before i had the baby. no big deal as long as you get meds before you deliver. i had no idea i had it and my doctor said not to worry because i had treatment. this time around i just got tested and thankfully it was negative. dont stress over it too much, they will give you antibiotics and you will be fine.

tiffjoy - Monday, 7 July
Group B strep is a natural flora bacteria that our bodies have, however if this bacteria is present during delivery it could cause the baby to have pneumonia and infections. Therefore they will test you again when you are 36wks and if you have it, you will be treated with anti-biotics during labor. This is nothing to be ashamed of, it is perfectly normal and common in many, many women. No worries!!!

pregoteacherorlando - Monday, 7 July
You were tested pretty early. From what I've read, Strep B can come and go. My doctors told me the best time to be tested is 35-36 weeks. If you are still testing positive at that point, the doctors will make sure that you are treated with anti-biotics during your labor. The anti-biotic used most frequently is penicillin. If you are allergic to penicillin, then they will find another anti-biotic that would work the same way.Even though it's really common, It is still really important to be treated during the birth. You don't want to take that chance of infecting the baby. I'm sure everything will work out perfectly fine for you. Best of luck!! Jackie

Group B strep is a test run by most doctors routinely about your 36 week of pregnancy. It's really no big deal...they hook you up to antibiotics when you're in labor and you go about your business.

This is my first , but I also tested positive for it. At first you know nothing about it so it hits you pretty hard, in reality it's nothing to worry about. I know FIVE close friends who gave birth vaginally, two of them didn't make it in time for anti-biotics and all their babies came out perfectly healthy. It took a lot of talking for my mind to be at ease, and I really wouldn't trust half the sites on here 'cause that's what got me paranoid in the first place! My Doc's and friends assured me it's very common and the baby will totally be fine :) Hope this helped Take care

Hello~ I am doing pretty good. My m/s is almost completely gone. I am so happy. I hope that the 2nd trimester will be better. That is what I am looking forward to. I can still fit all of my clothes but my stomach is getting fatter. I am a big girl already but in my mind I think I am showing. I want to buy maternity clothes because I know that I am going to need them. What about you? Have you been shopping? Is your stomach showing yet?
