Bluegreen - I too have GD. For the "meats" and protein... I eat peanut butter (low sugar Jiff) and I eat almonds... as they consider them meats, too. Can you eat those?

My opinion is if you know who you are getting the crib from and know that it is in good condition with no missing screws etc. then I think it would be fine. We are choosing to get a new one because of the safety reasons ect., and that way we will have the papers to it etc. if there was ever a recall. You can purchase a new crib for a pretty decent price these days. The one I am looking at is $169 at Target. It isn't real fancy, but it is a nice one. Hope this helps.

Hi. I have no problem with buying a used crib. I bought a used crib for my daugther but ended up buying a new one for this one because we got a really good deal on it. When buying used though, just make sure you research it and make sure there aren't any recalls on that specific crib.

Some say 30 weeks some say 31.....I am saying after 30 weeks I am 8 months! Sounds faster to me!

mamatess - Wednesday, 6 August
Twitches and cramps can sometimes mean dehydration or low potassium. Drink extra water. Try eating a banana each day for a few days and see if you feel better.

cjohnson1130 - Tuesday, 5 August
I would try and use Oxyclean that works on everything.

About the bumper debate....I have (since day 1) have always had a bumper in the crib with my daughter, along with the craddle/basinett in my room and she has done fine...I truly think it depends on the child and how much fo a mover she/he is...I truly what you feel she is most comfortable with...

excitedmum2b - Sunday, 3 August
i am using a bumper in my craddle just make sure it will tie tight. I did buy organic sheets and bumper though! good luck!

elizabethf - Sunday, 3 August
I would think that having a bumper when they are older (lifting their head and turning over etc.) would be more dangerous? just because they are more mobile. I am just paranoid. I know people that have had bumpers, and people that chose not to have them. It is really up to you and what you feel most comfortable with.

elizabethf - Saturday, 2 August
My sister told me about the dangers of a regular bumper and it scared me, so I am using a breathable one just to be safe. Also, I signed up for childbirth classes that cover breastfeeding and infant care as well. We start them the end of this month.

lori1399 - Saturday, 2 August
I just signed up for the hospital tour, lamaze, and CPR classes. i also have them set up for the end of Sept. I'm due Oct 29th. I have the same thinking...close to due date but not too close in case she come early. Good luck!!

If your family purchases it online they can there check a box for delievery or you can pick up.. You just need to let you family and friends know which way you want it done. But yes you can pick up orders at a local store :)

Hey there. I have 2 sons 9 and 7 so as you see its been a while since Ive brought home a newborn. Your gonna laugh at me but I sat down and made a list of everything I needed by the time my daughter is born. Here is some off the top of my head.....
Formula,diapers,wipes,baby bath,soaps and lotions,burp cloths, boppy,bottles,blankets,sleepers,outfits,onsies,socks,swing,bassinet,crib, stroller,carseat, infant tylenol, nail clippers.
Im sure there is so much more......LOL

rae - Tuesday, 29 July
the big things i would think you would want to get relatives or close family to get and the not so ovious 3 major things to me was a dual breast pump 2nd a good stroller with the swing stand that holds the car seat for easy leaving and going to a place without interupting the sleep and it attaches to the stroller, 3rd for me is good diapers pampers the others all seem to leak at night or cause for spill overs with number 2 and you need lots of diapers so a few in the cars trunk to one in the purse one in the diaper bag and some in every room it was annoying to make a trip to a specific spot or run out and not have back up,,, hope this helps

tr96 - Tuesday, 29 July
play yard, infant carrier, and diapers.

jenadamandbaby - Tuesday, 29 July
you definitely will want to register for the big stuff too. two or more guests will usually get together and buy it together. parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles...they all buy the big stuff. and for the little stuff people will buy a bunch of it and throw it in a laundry basket or something. You want a range of prices.

Cher1108 - Tuesday, 29 July
I've already registered at 3 different places. Babies r US, Target and Walmart. This should fit in all different types of budgets. It's ok to register for big items, sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't. It just depends on the guests. I registered for things for newborns to age 2. You can register for whatever you like or what you feel you may need. Even if you register for small things you have some people who will buy you what they feel you should have. I've mostly seen this with older family members when someone younger has a baby.

blackliner - Tuesday, 29 July
i will pray that your child is safe and healthy! Meantime waiting for all this madness to end either way is making me very exhausted! I wish I could go in for my scan already! 4 more weeks is such torture!at least you only have to wait a week!

blackliner - Tuesday, 29 July
yeah i have no idea of the measurements and the doc told me not worry and all that BUT how can i not?? i hope and pray that everything is ok, i just cant help it!

jenadamandbaby - Sunday, 27 July
PHEW...i thought i was doing the WRONG thing but NOW since i have your support then i'm going to go ahead and do it!! thank you!!!! BUT if something happens to my baby can i hold you accountable since you supported me on it?? :)
hahaha that is too funny!

jenadamandbaby - Sunday, 27 July
i put this in week 25 but just in case you miss it.....
bluegreen - we did wing it and went down every aisle pretty much so we wouldn't miss anything! we had everything we needed for our nursery...the bedding, hamper, diaper stacker, and furniture and such. we registered for...baby wipes, diapers, formula (to supplement with breast milk), a breast pump, baby carrier, shopping cart cover, bpa-free bottles, hooded towels, head support for car seat, fitted crib sheets, blankets, health kit (with aspirator, thermometer, etc), breast milk storage bags, boppy seat, bassinet and sheets, drying rack for bottles, infant mittens, socks, burpclothes, infant hats, bottle brush (one that stands up and no sponge!), baby hangers, Dreft laundry detergent, crib rail teether, baby stain remover, baby book, photo album, high chair, changing pad covers, video monitor, tubside padding (for mom's comfort!), bibs with pockets, ocean wonders aquarium for crib (i know many babies who won't sleep without this!), stroller, car seat, swing, travel yard (play pen). Some things we already had that you may want to put on are bassinet, crib mattress, bouncey seat, diaper pail, safety gates, toys, and clothes!! I hope this helps! :)

jenadamandbaby - Sunday, 27 July
soooooo i was thinking that when my baby is born i should throw her around a bit just to see what will happen. I mean, what is the worst that can happen??? she may be just fine after it. now if you agree with me that this is a good idea then you have the right to reply to my post BUT if you disagree then you must keep your mouth shut......

almightyadam - Sunday, 27 July
thank you for your input! i completely agree with you! it's not like these mothers can turn back time, NOT drink or smoke, and compare the two outcomes!!! how else would you know??? and why even take the risk if there is the SLIGHTEST risk???
