Yeah! 20 weeks, half way there, this is my first baby and I am enjoying every minute of this miracle!!

Well it's Dec 10th, I have a Doctor Appt. today @ 11:15, I can't wait, it has been 6 weeks since my last apt. because I am in between doctor's right now, I get to meet my new one today, I hope he is better than the last one.

I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat !!!!

12/11/07 - Well, my Doctor visit went very well, I love my new doctor, he is great!! I also learned I have an anterior attached placenta, that is why I have not felt any movements, I feel so much better! I am measuring normal everywhere else!!

Thursday, 3 Jan

Well, I am almost 26 weeks, My Husband and I finally got the nursery done, I love it, it looks a little drab in the pictures but I swear it is so much cuter in person. I have a doc appt on Tuesday the 8th. I don `t think it will be a very eventful one, just the usual. I am going to ask if there will be another ultrasound, I keep hearing about people that where told they were having one sex only to discover they were having the opposite, I could pay for another ultrasound but they start at around 150 dollars, which I am trying to save everything I can for maternity leave right now. I can `t complain too much about being pregnant except for the heartburn that is always with me now, I `m sure it is only going to get worse and this is the easy part so I am trying not to dwell too much on it. We bought a much needed new couch so my Husband and I have decided I will continue to work my second job until we can pay it off and then I can quite, I can `t wait. It is getting so hard to get out of bed in the morning and the exhaustion is setting in once again.

Wednesday, 9 Jan

Well, I had my 26 weeks Doctor appt yesterday, all is well I am measuring exactly 26 centimeters and Maddie had a heart rate of 140 BPM. I am a little sad to say I have gained 9 pounds in the last month, I am now totalling 35 pounds of weight gain already, AHHHHHHH!!!! I guess I new this was gonna happen, no woman in my family has ever had a baby without gaining at least 50 pounds, it sure as hell doesn `t make it any easier though, I guess I `ll just have to work my ass of after this pregnancy to get rid of the weight, literally. I go back in two weeks for my GD test, got the yucky drink yesterday, after that I start the bi-weekly appt. `s. My doctor informed me that I will not be getting another ultasound unless there is a problem, I think this sucks because I was really hoping that I would get one more confirmation of girl before I went crazy buying stuff. I just can `t spend the money to get a private one done, to many other things to worry about.

Well good to know I'm not the only one. Doesn't it drive you nuts. Usually I breastfeed him until asleep tonight I am going to stop him before he falls completely asleep and rock or bounce him to sleep. I am just curious if maybe I change that final step in his routine if it will help. I'll let you know. By the way that is some crazy hair. My boy was born with a ton of hair and every body kept saying it would fall out but it never did, it just kept getting longer and longer. We finally cut it the other day.

branbug - Thursday, 17 July
aww they do look a like especially the hair! LOL

Well, cheese is definitely off the menu! I have been trying small amounts of dairy here and there, butter (well that never left the menu), mayo, sour cream and today for lunch I made a chicken & cheese quesadilla with about a handful of cheese. WHOA, very unhappy baby by 6:00 p.m.

I thought for sure we were going to have our first sleepless night. Luckily I had pumped milk in the fridge. And, for the first time we had to implement the Dr. Karp techniques, which you are right work like a charm, to get her to sleep. Once we got her on her side and start swaying/jiggling she stopped crying almost immediately and then we put her in her crib on her side and I put a pacifier in her mouth and stroked her hair (well head since she has no hair, lol) and within 10 mins she was out. I waited another 10 mins and flipped her to her back and she has stayed sleeping so far.

I am afraid to try milk but in a couple days I am going to try a glass – I miss it with dinner so much. I know she can tolerate some dairy; I just need to figure out how much. Plus, her pedi said that as she gets older and her digestive system matures, she may have no problems with dairy. It often is not a lactose intolerance thing but the proteins are hard on their system or something like that.

I see you are looking into different stuff for Maddi’s reflux. I guess it isn’t getting much better yet. I hope you find something you are comfortable giving her that works; I bet she is a different baby when you get this sorted out. I remember the awful reflux I had while pregnant. It is horrible. Poor little baby.

Spike - Wednesday, 16 July
well then why were you asking random mums if it were safe to do so?
why ask? why not just go to the doctor?

newmommy - Wednesday, 16 July
my friend was prescrived reglan to help her produce more milk. i looked up the side effects and they were severe depression and neuro problems and seizures. so i wonder why they gave it to your baby!!!

breezee I have 2 mo old that got Zentac and rice cereal. He vomits and has terrible gass issue. He hates Zantac (gags him). Have you tried adding cereal to your baby's milk? I read that some people had luck with Colic Calm for reflux but I didn't have courage to try it yet. Zenatc doesn't seem to make difference for my baby... cereal works a little bit better but he is already big and I am affraid he will fatten up even more.

Traviesa - Tuesday, 15 July
yuck reglan is too strong..I gave my son that for like 2 days..and nope he was pissed. Prevacid will work but be ready for side effects as well. :(

MilMom2Be - Tuesday, 15 July
 So much hair!

MilMom2Be - Tuesday, 15 July
Ack, your hubby stole my hubby's name! I never thought Brad was a very popular name until I married one... Now they are everywhere!!!

MilMom2Be - Tuesday, 15 July
Ihaven't gained any weight, my sex drive is still going strong, I hear some women get B!^%# on it, but I haven't had any crazy mood swings... I'm breastfeeding, so I don't have my period back, but from what I read it's like the mirena, in the first 3 months you could have heavy, long, irregular periods, but after 3 months they get shorter and lighter and for many dissapear altogether by the end bof the first yr. Lol, since I plan to BF till a yr I am hoping the Implanon gets rid of AF before it returns on its own, hehehe, I haven't had period in 11 1/2 months, and am lovin' it!!!

I am having the same problems with my son and spitting up. I just called the Dr this morning to see what they can give me to help give him so relief. I have switched formulas once and that is still not working. The nurse informed me about Prevacid and is going to talk to the Dr to see about him prescribing him something. Good luck!

mizzsnazzy - Monday, 14 July
My son had really minor silent reflux and he was given Zantac for a few weeks which my doctor told me she was okay with giving since it was the most safe med for reflux, but Prevacid she said was more for babies like yours....have you tried gaviscon? I think they are over the counter. Try also feeding her in an upright position, I had to do that with my son. Hope it works out.

Cherryb0m - Monday, 14 July
my baby is on prevacid. she has really bad reflux and has been on it for 3 weeks now and doing great. i really didnt want to give her meds, but she is not in pain anymore. i havnt noticed any bad reactions or anything as of yet

Debra - Monday, 14 July
to start, you are burping her well between feeds, even taking her off the breast during a feed to burp her? have you tried burping her over your knees? it puts more pressure on her tummy. If she won't sleep, she won't eat well. She won't eat well, she won't sleep. Its a vicious cycle. Has the doctor actually diagnosed her with gastric reflux? i say this because very few babies actually have something medically wrong with them when it comes to colic. Its a combination of gas and lack of sleep. Have you tried eliminating things from your diet? ie. my friends baby had BAAAAD colic. She took out soy and garlic and baby was a lot better. Baby might also have an allergy to cows milk. Is the similac cow's milk based? you may want to try a formula thats completly free of soy and cow's milk. What is she saying when she's crying??? babies use words to help you. "Heh" is uncomfortable, "Eh" is gas, "Eaire" is lower gas pain, "NEH" is hungry and "OWE" is tired. How much is baby spitting up? Is she a fast nurser? Is she done or do you feel empty within 10 min or less? My son would spit up ALOT all the time, but I know he was keeping something down as he was peeing, pooping and putting on weight. Crying is also normal behavior and gets worse until baby hits about 3 months. If you haven't heard of some of the things i'm talking about, try these before you resort to medications. Let me know first though if you have tried all this stuff... because then i'll try to give you some other suggestions.

mizzsnazzy - Monday, 14 July
Is your daughter spitting up every bottle?

Traviesa - Monday, 14 July
its over the counter...I know I have to get mine at a walmart. http://www.gaviscon.com/
because they have the pill form everywhere so finding the liquid form is hard.
