Happy St. Patrick's Day 2008!!!!

02.19.2008-Hey everyone, I haven't had much time for anything lately but I have a spare moment right now so I thought I'd update :) Our little princess is exactly that..lol..she's already spoiled I think, we're still trying to adjust to dealing with the times where we do everything and she still cries. Overall we're doing great though, she likes to be in motion so we're buying her a swing this weekend. I'm trying to teach her to be more independent, with all the people always holding her she's become accustomed to being held so she cries eventually if she's awake and gets put down. We're working on it and hopefully the swing will help. But she's truly amazing and Brett and I are doing awesome, Madilyn goes to her Doctor Thursday and I go back next Tuesday. More updates then!

Update-02.04.2008-Well things are GREAT, Madilyn is wonderful and she couldn't be a better baby =) she practically sleeps through the night already and she's just always wonderful to be around. It's amazing what having a baby makes you realize. Brett and I are great, we're both just so amazed by our daughter every moment =) how could we help but to be happy? Anyways, I went to WIC today and they weighed and measured Madi, she weighs 9lbs 13oz and she's 20inches long now. The WIC nurse said it's normal that she lost an inch because babies are swollen when they're born. I plan on getting her to her first doctors appointment this week and I'll update when I have the chance..hope everyone is doing great(babies too!)

I got to the hospital at about 5:45am January 11th and got all checked in at about 6am, they got me all ready and what-not and started my pitocin at about 7am, checked me and I was 5cm. Brett, my Mom, Dad, & my brother Ethan went to get breakfast at Denny's because we all figured it would be awhile, my doctor came in at about 7:45am and broke my water and checked me and he said I was 6+ cm. So I called my Mom and told her, said I was alright and all that, then a few minutes later I had my first real hard contraction and needless to say I called my Mom back and said get back NOW lol. Then I got a pain shot of Nubain, which didn't do ANYTHING for me. I was having bad contractions practically constantly from about 8:30am-9:40am I decided somewhere in that time that I wanted an epidural so they brought in the cart and everything and were getting everything ready to do my epidural and the nurse had to check me again and I was 9 3/4cm and she said I couldn't get it and I about died! haha. Right after that I started pushing, I pushed for about 20 minutes and her head started to come. The nurse was telling me to stop pushing for a few minutes because we were waiting on my Doctor who was in the hospital on his way to my room but Madi wasn't about to wait LOL, I wasn't even pushing and her head was still coming, so they yelled out in the hallway for the other Doctor who was already there and she came running in and had JUST put on her gloves and out came Madi at 10:05am!

Labor was the hardest most painful thing I've ever experianced, even though it only lasted 3 hours start to finish (I got SUPER lucky), the not having pain relief makes a HUGE difference! Believe me! She's perfect though and I love her SOOOOO much, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat :)
