Got any more pics of your bump?

judi - Thursday, 17 July
It's to do with the normal menstrual cycle of 4 weeks, so I've heard. My two premmies were at very close to 32 weeks, and I miscarried one at 8 weeks, so it seems accurate for me.

I think we're past the stage of really having to worry about that too much now, anyway. Gonna have our babies soon!

I dunno mother in laws who'd have them lol just keep your legs crossed to really wind her up :) I've got the problem with my partners whole family smoking. They all do it and although I can tell them not to smoke in my house around the baby when she's born, I think i'm gonna find it hard/awkward to ask them not to smoke in their own homes

The baby is bigger than the average size for the week you are in. Some babies are very big and measure the average size of babies three weeks ahead. It doesn't change your due date. It just means your baby is bigger than the average baby for your week, very healthy baby.

mama33 - Wednesday, 16 July
Did they say how big he is? Did you get to see the rest of him? His face is so cute and relaxed!!

beatlebabeplusone - Tuesday, 15 July
just saw your message on week 28 I think everybody worries about premature labour, I know I do now and also did when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have no reason to worry but everytime I get Braxton Hicks I panick a little. I'll be glad when I'm about 36 weeks then it won't be so bad if the baby does come early :)

Oh Man! I can't believe that, how rude. Are you going to look for other work for the summer?
My DH and I are surfing the waves of getting along, and arguing, every day. Today is a weird day because I feel kinda down, and he went for a bike ride. If he was here a fight would probably start, but now I feel left behind! *sigh*. Hang in there. Feeling Patrick William kick today?

mama33 - Friday, 27 June
How is it going these days? Have you been able to go Zen?

Megan the lump maker - Friday, 20 June
get checked out just to be sure it's not preterm labor--can't hurt right?

I know what you mean about stess. Thats all I had in the beginining of my pregnancy. My story is on my page if you want to read about it. But to relieve my stress I would just go and be alone for awhile, wether that ment taking walk, listening to music or watching tv, i just took some "me" time to calm myself down and relax for my baby's sake. It's good to just clear your mind and walk away from the situation. That is the best advise I have because its what i did and it got me through living with my baby's dad. Good luck!!

If they (B-H) are consistent, call your doctor. Otherwise, don't let it get to you.

mama33 - Thursday, 19 June
Hi, I know what you mean about relationship stress! I can't imagine living with a group of people when I have been feeling emotionally a wreck sometimes. I don't have anything earth-shattering to suggest, but try to get some alone time, get in touch with your sense of being pregnant, feel as Zen as you can. And if you can, find the right moment to connect with your man and get intimate... it really helps a lot of the bad feelings go away! Hang in there!

gr8scottswife - Wednesday, 18 June
As long as they don't last consistently for long periods of times (hours). If you notice you are having some consistent contractions, check into a hospital.

I just laughed to myself when I read your post about the Yankee game. My husband is a HUGE Yankees fan.. all he talks about is the baby wearing pin stripe diapers ;) We went to Build a Bear and built our baby a bear and he's wearing a Yankee uniform... it's really cute :) We are also having a boy, but we're due just a few days before you!! Good luck!

gr8scottswife - Thursday, 12 June
You're right. Some B-Hs do hurt; they feel like menstrual cramps. I have had some very mild cramps like that almost from the start, but this week, the crampiness has increased in both intensity and how often they come. In fact, I felt the B-H this morning upon awakening and they lasted until I got to work. However, there are many times when we have these B-Hs and we do not feel them.

Hello, thank you very much for taking the time to write..and thank you for the advice. I have been pondering this issue for a while. I like to share things with the children so it will seem strange keeping such a big piece of news from them. But, sometimes they can get it wrong - what if we told them it was going to be a boy and it turns out to be a girl! Also, I do like the element of surprise...the first question people ask when a new baby arrives is 'was it a boy or a girl'. It would be nice to still be able to surprise my friends and family! I like the idea of making it into a game..thank you!

Hi, I do know that sometimes those things come up on ultrasound but may not mean anything, when you have your 3rd trimester ultrasound you should find out more.. usually everything is fine and it will correct itself out before the baby is born.. I was told my 6 yr old had downs and my ob at the time tried to talk me into abortion, I immediatly changed doctors and to make a long story short.. my son was born healthy. There are alot of stories like mine, its definitely nothing to worry about. All you can do is wait.. Have a good day!

Breast-feeding can seem kinda weird with your first. You're not accustomed to using them for that! :) But it really is SO much better for Baby, better for you (after the birth, you will almost certainly have calories to spare!) and really so much more convenient and hygienic all round, not to mention cheaper! My milk only just started, but don't worry. It typically starts sometime in the second trimester, not necessarily in a particular week. And as long as it starts before birth, it really doesn't matter. It feels nice to be so far along now. In just a few weeks time, baby will be essentially capable of surviving in the world - all he/she still has to do is mature a little bit and gain some weight.

Yeah, Down's Syndrome is not the end of the world. He will enrich your life more than you can possibly imagine, whether or not he has it. Down's kids are actually really sweet. A lot of work, but precious just the same.

Otherwise, how's it going? My colostrum has just started - I'm looking forward to breastfeeding. You?

I love the name Patrick (that's my husband's name). We're expecting a lil girl, and are thinking of calling her Penny. Not really sure yet, though.

I'm 42 and was 38 when pregnant with my most recent boy, Tycho. The routine ultrasound at 20 weeks detected echographic spots on his heart AND one lobe of his left lung wasn't getting blood circulation. Both markers for Downs Syndrome, apparantly, and given my age... the risk was high. But like you I didn't want an amniocentesis. The specialist explained that given my age and the echographic foci on the heart, there was a significantly increased chance of a Downs Syndrome baby, but he gave me the odds, and they were still very much in favor of a genetically normal baby, so I didn't worry about it. As it turns out, Tycho is perfectly fine, and even the lung sorted itself out at birth. He's a healthy happy 4 year old, now. I guess you need to be aware that there's a chance of Downs or other problems, but there is that even when the markers are not present. None of us can ever be sure of what the baby will be like until he's born, if then. So try not to stress about it - that CERTAINLY won't help. Markers are just that - markers. Not diagnosis. Relax. Enjoy nurturing your little boy.

Wow, I am sorry you had to go through that. You have a good reason to want to talk about your experience. I am glad you are able. You have a great outlook and I wish you the best. Enjoy your wonderful baby boy. Take care.
