Hey dear. In all honesty, I got great attention from both. With my first I had a midwife and found it to be a great experience, but ended up having to have a doctor deliver my baby because they had to use a vacum suction on her head and make a cut for her head to come out. I now have an OBGYN and I love him. He has given me more technical information than the midwife by far. He spends all the time I need with him and answers all my questions. So, if just depends on each and who you get. I have heard both neg and pos for both. I am happy I have an OBGYN because of my age (38) and I just feel more confident when he addresses my issues. Good luck to you dear. You will do just fine.

See my blogs on my page about my midwife. One thing I did not include about my last visit is that I spent two 1/2 hours with my midwife. She explains everything in detail and gives examples. Another thing that I didn't mention in my last update is that my midwife spent five days at a recent client's home preparing for her labor. That is not unusual for my midwife to do it she feels that it is necessary. She may stay 24 hours or five days. Knowing that she is willing to be there if she has a gut instinct to be there is very comforting. It was a good thing she was at that lady's home already because the lady was only in labor for 2 1/2 hours, not enough time for my midwife to have arrived on the scene. Not only does my midwife deliver the baby, but she makes sure all the family is settled in and nursing is going well before packing up and leaving. That, to me, is very comforting, unlike mean nurses (I've heard many stories about unsympathetic, hardended nurses) and doctors coming in literally within the last two pushes and then leaving. That's not very personal or comforting. Nurses are okay, and many may be very sweet, but you really want your doctor's attention. I say 100% go for the midwife. Of course, when you are checking one out, be sure that she seems to be very straight forward and in control and answers all questions thoroughly. She will be an excellent midwife, concerned, passionate, and you'll learn a lot.

Got any more pics of your bump?

It's to do with the normal menstrual cycle of 4 weeks, so I've heard. My two premmies were at very close to 32 weeks, and I miscarried one at 8 weeks, so it seems accurate for me.

I think we're past the stage of really having to worry about that too much now, anyway. Gonna have our babies soon!

I dunno mother in laws who'd have them lol just keep your legs crossed to really wind her up :) I've got the problem with my partners whole family smoking. They all do it and although I can tell them not to smoke in my house around the baby when she's born, I think i'm gonna find it hard/awkward to ask them not to smoke in their own homes

The baby is bigger than the average size for the week you are in. Some babies are very big and measure the average size of babies three weeks ahead. It doesn't change your due date. It just means your baby is bigger than the average baby for your week, very healthy baby.

Did they say how big he is? Did you get to see the rest of him? His face is so cute and relaxed!!

just saw your message on week 28 I think everybody worries about premature labour, I know I do now and also did when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have no reason to worry but everytime I get Braxton Hicks I panick a little. I'll be glad when I'm about 36 weeks then it won't be so bad if the baby does come early :)

Oh Man! I can't believe that, how rude. Are you going to look for other work for the summer?
My DH and I are surfing the waves of getting along, and arguing, every day. Today is a weird day because I feel kinda down, and he went for a bike ride. If he was here a fight would probably start, but now I feel left behind! *sigh*. Hang in there. Feeling Patrick William kick today?

How is it going these days? Have you been able to go Zen?

I know what you mean about stess. Thats all I had in the beginining of my pregnancy. My story is on my page if you want to read about it. But to relieve my stress I would just go and be alone for awhile, wether that ment taking walk, listening to music or watching tv, i just took some "me" time to calm myself down and relax for my baby's sake. It's good to just clear your mind and walk away from the situation. That is the best advise I have because its what i did and it got me through living with my baby's dad. Good luck!!

If they (B-H) are consistent, call your doctor. Otherwise, don't let it get to you.

mama33 - Thursday, 19 June
Hi, I know what you mean about relationship stress! I can't imagine living with a group of people when I have been feeling emotionally a wreck sometimes. I don't have anything earth-shattering to suggest, but try to get some alone time, get in touch with your sense of being pregnant, feel as Zen as you can. And if you can, find the right moment to connect with your man and get intimate... it really helps a lot of the bad feelings go away! Hang in there!

gr8scottswife - Wednesday, 18 June
As long as they don't last consistently for long periods of times (hours). If you notice you are having some consistent contractions, check into a hospital.

I just laughed to myself when I read your post about the Yankee game. My husband is a HUGE Yankees fan.. all he talks about is the baby wearing pin stripe diapers ;) We went to Build a Bear and built our baby a bear and he's wearing a Yankee uniform... it's really cute :) We are also having a boy, but we're due just a few days before you!! Good luck!

gr8scottswife - Thursday, 12 June
You're right. Some B-Hs do hurt; they feel like menstrual cramps. I have had some very mild cramps like that almost from the start, but this week, the crampiness has increased in both intensity and how often they come. In fact, I felt the B-H this morning upon awakening and they lasted until I got to work. However, there are many times when we have these B-Hs and we do not feel them.
